pocohantas: To truly enjoy the Island, you need money. You need money to stay in those estates with 24/7 light. This electricity tariff we are crying over, some Island people have been paying more since 1902! Once you wake, bills start hitting you. If you are broke there, hunger and depression go almost finish you.
Let's not talk about Agungi's flood, please.
I enter the Island to flex and leave. We have the means to live there comfortably, but I outgrew it and decided not to go back. To be honest oh. If you want to stay on the island, that is good and fine. What I hate is those staying on the island looking down on Mainlanders. Lmao. Nor be for Mainland them put airport? And then again, island bills are not funny at all. If your body nor full, nor bother. That Agungi flood is legendary. God abeg. Nice one. Make everybody do wetin go favour them biko. |

pocohantas: There are some of the sides they don't talk about. Or you will be paying exorbitant fees to treat water. If you have stabilised, then you can take such expense. But not a young person or average family. He keeps sating crawcraw, he has a higher chance of getting crawcraw with that Island water hard water. My skin reacted badly. I was red and itching. The service charge is crazyyyyyyy!!!! We haven't even talked about the flood during rainy season. Entering flood going to work and coming back home. Agungi and environs come to mind. E remain make them do boat for that side, make we kuku know say na Noah's Ark regime we dey. Seeeeeeee!!! My face was burning and my whole body itching. Island water is a No No for me please. I stand with my Mainland. |

pocohantas: I heard that a lot too and I thought I will be fighting agberos daily on the mainland. Or that the sun is hotter on the mainland. If you have to commute everyday, there are places on the Island that are the same or even farther distances than living on the mainland.
I think he tried to drag me for not having any Island living-experience and I told him I stayed at Lekki Phase1 and Oniru, so I know how expensive it is and I don't recommend it for young people starting life on an average income. Naso baba carry me for mind and me sef carry am. The best form of defence is attack.🤪🤪🤪 Sameeeeeeeeee omg!!!! For this same Lagos mainland, it is the street agberos and keke maruwa riders that call me "fine girl" till I start blushing or hype me or when I'm lost, they hold my hand and help cross road. Imagine staying at Ajah and your workplace na VI or Yaba, Ajah traffic go first wound you. Mtchewww! Me kuku stayed at Lekki when I came to Lagos. Fake life everywhere and unnecessarily expensive. The water sef is brown. It was too bad that my white panties I had turned brown, I threw it away. How can somebody be buying 20 bags of sachet water and you'd be using to bathe and cook despite the "water treatment" in the tank. Plus you'd be battling flood during rainy seasons. Entering flood going to work and coming back home. Agungi and environs come to mind. E remain make them do boat for that side, make we kuku know say na Noah's Ark regime we dey. Na life be that? God abeg. Yes oh, ATTACK!!!!!!!!! As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us. |

pocohantas: Omo! I am shocked I won't lie.
My first encounter with this guy, he was claiming people on the mainland are exposed to harsh life, ill training and we don't meet elites. Added that he stays at Sangotedo.
In 2024 he comes to tell lies of me brokeshaming him and claiming to live at highbrow areas. You sef know me. When you been dey come Lagos, first thing I told you was to avoid Island and any fake life in Lagos. I will be the last person to drag someone for staying on the mainland. But he goes about playing victim and claiming "brokeshaming". That is how they give a dog bad name to kill it.
I done see im face sha. E no worth my energy and I don't mean to sound immodest. Sangotedo wey traffic and bad road been wan kill them? Leemao. Before coming to Lagos, I used to hear "Oh you're ajebo, you can't stay on the Mainland" and I was thinking folks staying there are suffering or so. Thank God for my "good head" and your advice too oh. I wash hand comot Island and fake life. Wetin be that? I have never seen you broke-shame anybody, so he's just saying nonsense. Just pure bitterness and vile to women on the internet. He needs to tip the photographer extra for adding small beauty. |

Gerrard59: That is the truth. Even if one does not have ambitions or extra-flexing or elite schools' ambitions, just feeding is something else. Na why I keep emphasising vasectomy to men because female contraceptives can fail, and the truth of the matter be say, the burden of providing for a family or a large proportion of it lies on the man. Even the side chic some men indulge in has a low ROI. People have to use their senses. Things are hard everywhere.
Not fair on the lady. Which is why it is important to begin early with the question: how many siblings do you have? To be honest, feeding is very IMPORTANT for children; they need a well balanced diet for growth all round. Imagine having 4-6 kids with meagre salary. God abeg!!! And children can EAT!!! Lol how many Nigerian men are willing to do vasectomy? You talk as if you don't know your people. Hahahaha. I know right? It wasn't fair actually, they also had conflicting religious difference. He was Christian, she's Muslim and wasn't willing to convert. But then again, the guy left her. |

She'd forever be missed. I loved her music. My favourite line from her "Greatest Love of All" is I decided long ago Never to walk in anyone's shadows If I fail, if I succeed At least I'll live as I believe No matter what they take from me They can't take away my dignity My other favourite song is her featuring Mariah Carey in "When You Believe". Amazing vocals! |

Gerrard59:

I have to o, because to maintain a level of financial comfort as a black man, one must be wary of the black tax.
- Sponsoring a woman to school? I no do. - Sponsoring a sibling or cousin of hers to school? I no do - Opening a business for any of her relatives? I no do
I better don't get involved in what I cannot finish. So, I target those with just two siblings. Hopefully, God bless me so I meet the one with just a sibling.
Young ones should deter/caution/dissuade their parents from having more children than they can cater for. I am proud to say I did that to my parents. If I had not, I doubt they would have been able to sponsor me to where I am today. People must be a little bit selfish. Lmao. Actually, your points are valid. Folks should be a bit selfish in birthing children especially those ones that say children are a gift from God and I go born all the pikin for my body, boom! They birth a football team. Raising children these days is not funny at all. I had a friend way back and her erstwhile boyfriend broke up with her when it was time for marriage. He's rich but he said he can't take on her family's burden. I didn't blame him though and I told her my thoughts. She isn't the first child but her whole family solely depended on her for survival. Plus they were 5 kids (inclusive of her). Told her that her siblings need to start fending for themselves somehow because nobody is coming to save you. |

Gerrard59: Anyway, this thread and many others is a major reason I am wary of any lady who has more than 2 siblings. That is one of my first set of questions when interacting with any Nigerian/African lady: how many siblings do you have? More than 2? My mind says back off.
When my parents stopped at three, others decided to fire on till four, five and six. The Gods forbid! Your own is too much. 😂😂😂😂 |

doggedfighter: Folake4u, I use the Simple face wash . The white and green one that I got the picture from you. And it's good.
But in recent times I noticed that they are so many varieties even some shops prefer storing the others to the one I am using. I was tempted to switch but resisted.
Just want to know if you have tried any other one ? Hi DG. Apologies for late response. Yes. That white&green is good. Lol. Them dey rush Simple brand for market, na why. Asides that white and green pack, I also this one @ Simple Clear More Scrub. For real, it depends on your preference. The beauty of the Simple brand is they have variety of products to suit individual's needs. So maybe you should check the available ones, browse online for its impact and then make a choice.
