Do you mind explaining the third and fourth sentences of the second paragraph?
I mean that that total tuition fee is $26,000 for a period of one year but the total amount including living expenses, foods, etc, everything is $34,200.
Why I stated it is that I wanted to know if the VOs can deny a visa on the basis that they think a Nigerian cannot afford that amount for school.

Please, house, California State University deferred my master admission from January 2023 to August 2023 and now to January 2024. I have done visa interview before by May but I was denied. Please, I want to be sure of something:
Is it that it is only people that are either fully or partially funded that get visa easily? Or even people that will pay their tuition themselves can get visa? My school fund both tuition and others is $34200. The one year tuition out of that $34200 is $26,000 and the second year is taken cared of by a program in the school. Thanks for your responses.

Revisit your DS-160 information and also cross check if your passport profile marches that of the ds-160 and the one on the visa application page e.g. like a missing middle name. Check your ds160 answers all over to see if there is a place you are missing it

If you believe the issue was with the VO, apply again. We have seen people who applied and got it the second time. The VO might just not be in a good mood.

But please when you apply again if they ask you what has changed, don't say "nothing". Mention that you believe you didn't present your case properly the first time and you want to do that again. Keep in mind all the suggestions mentioned here and make adjustments.

Depends on your relationship with God But a no the first time, shouldn't be a sign for you not to apply again.

Wishing you the best!

Thanks so much, I appreciate your advice. She just fought with an elderly woman that day, that was questioning her why she denied her when she has businesses she will return to. She had approved two people before but immediately after that argument with that woman, she started showing mood

You didn't seem convincing about the fact that you would return after your studies.

Having your brother run your company is not a very good reason for you to come back.

Your wife applying with you should not be an issue, I applied with my husband and two kids and we were given. What I capitalized on was that I had a job that needed me when I got back. That is, of course, after meeting the funds requirement for the four of us and applying to a good program.

Always give contexts to your answers, highlight how your study will affect your business when you get back. Handing the company over to your brother is a red flag that you will not come back. The VO seemed convinced about other aspects but cut you when it came to ties to your home country.

Apply again, your wife should also emphasize that she'll be back for her job, which can mean she doesn't intend to stay the entire length of study with you to get back to her work. And if you choose to apply without her, don't use her as your reason for coming back if she still intends to join you later. We've read stories of families that wanted to join their spouse and they were met with questions like your husband said you were not coming.

What you need is to convince the VO that you will come back after your study and you didn't show that.
If you were there, all these give contexts, this woman did not allow words to come out of my mouth. Once she asked a question and I'm about to give an answer, she shuts me immediately. She just fought with one elderly woman that was arguing with her about the fact that she has businesses to run in Nigeria, that why should she deny her, I guess the white woman was still emotional about that.
Assuming she allowed words out of my mouth, I know what to say, I have practicalised the whole things, using different scenarios, watching several YouTube even consulted with more than twenty former visa officers on Argo.
And on brother thing, she asked a direct question of who will take care of my companies when I left, as soon as I mentioned my brother, she shut me immediately. I wanted to give details. Even, the answers I gave I forced them out of my mouth when I understand what she might do, I wanted to see if she could hear them, probably she could change her mind.
I knew I had to give context to my answers and even link where necessary, like when how many school did you choose, I can list the schools after giving her the answer and immediately talk about why I choose the school and how the study in that school will impact my companies. I knew that ad she asked for what I do after answering her I should link my answer to how the skills I acquire will be of benefits to my companies. All these I have mastered but these can only be useful when you have someone that's ready to listen or hear you out. In her case, she has lost interest in the whole entire process of interviewing people that day. You can see the anger in her face. She was just asking unrelated questions and giving blue paper. The only related questions she asked me were
What do I do?
Who is your sponsor?
And towards the end she remembered that she had to ask me about the number of school I chose.
As I understand based on over hundred transcripts that I printed out both on this site and other sites, she was suppose to ask for intent questions, home ties questions and sponsor question (she did but did not care to listen).
She avoided the intent and home ties questions and every attempts by me to maneuver my answers to those directions were thwarted by her instantly. Listening was no longer her thing for that day again

Good people, please for F2 application, we already have the required funds for husband and 2 kids (3 F2s) available in my account (the F1) Does my husband need to have extra money in his own account? Like how much? If we are borrowing this extra money, is it problematic to deposit it into his account once or is it better to do it in installments?

Thanks so much 🙏
Will advise that everything should be in your husband's account statement, which makes him automatically the sponsor. Your husband should appear like someone who has enough money as a sign of responsibility and as someone that is not a potential immigrant. Should show a good work to support the finance, to be able to defend such an amount.
And in most cases, VOs are not interested in seeing the documents (including account statement) they are only after how your husband can defend himself before them. He is like a lawyer going there to prove his innocence.

Hi everyone,

Been a silent reader here. Thanks for your educative comments. I have a question. I am an F1 in the US. My husband and kids and in Nigeria and applying for their F2 visas. I filled the DS-160 forms for all 3 of them because my husband is busy. So, he reviewed the forms and edited some details from his end. For the question (who helped you to fill this form) I responded that I did and filled in my name. And we submitted. Now, an F2 advisor I asked suggested that we should retrieve the forms and respond that he filled them himself.

Has anyone been in this situation or knows anything about this? If we retrieve the forms and change the answer, isn’t the 1st answer already recorded in their system? I appreciate your responses🙏
My opinion based on listening to over 20 former visa officers, as long as you have not used it to get appointment date, the visa officer cannot see it. The ones you have filled is in the database of ceac but the visa officer can only see the one you used to get an appointment date. That's all.

3 issues:
1- Your year of graduation..11 yrs ago you left school, you seriously need to articulate how a graduate degree in your chosen field is critically needed in growing your company since you’re self-employed.

2: Since you founded 2 companies, how viable and sustainable are they going to be in order to support you and your family while you’re studying abroad? You earn N100k or 1M a month as your gross or net income? You need a financial person to help you prepare an income loss statement for you and your wife. She could change her job description from event mgt and cake making to: I run and an event mgt/ planning co and a bakery with a monthly sales of xyz amount. My net income is ABC/mon. Be more concise and straight with ur answers.

3- You need to seriously show solid home ties.. Good luck and try again
If you were there yesterday you would understand the whole scenario. I'm an "expressive" individual. I have mastered the art very well I won't lie to you.
Firstly, this woman was not ready to listen, I was actually forcing myself to spew out the few I could. She was cutting everything. Immediately she asked a question and you are about to answer her, she would cut it instantly. The few things you saw that came out of my mouth, I spoke them forcefully. She wasn't listening to people, she was just issuing out the blue paper after few questions without expecting replies.
Firstly, she didn't ask a question related to how the course would help my career or company but I still wanted to chip it in when I was telling her about my funding, what I do and even why I picked the school yet she did not allow me to talk on it. She stopped me abruptly
Secondly, I already prepared financial statement and I cannot give her if she didn't ask for it, I can only defend it with my mouth and I think I did justice to an extent to that by mouth, by telling her how much I pay myself from each of the companies monthly and the total annual income. It is against their rules to bring out documents if they don't asl for it, that can disqualify one.
Lastly, on the home ties, we didn't get there in the first place. I wanted to use the opportunity of why I chose the school to explain home ties but she didn't allow me.
And I want to tell you that the few words I wad able to speak out, I managed to maneuvered her questions towards them, she didn't bother to ask or even care to listen. She was quick to say, ok or I got it. For example, check the questions you will discovered that when she asked that was that the only school I chose, that was when I started using the opportunity to let her know the reason I chose the school among the three. She didn't ask to that extent but since I have discovered her pattern I wanted to see if I could maneuvered myself to speak out my unique story. But the truth is you can only convince someone that cares to listen to you. At least, she gave more than 7 people before me blue paper, including a man that has travelled to different countries like France, Germany, UK, etc. The man was articulated enough and he has a strong home ties with evidence but what finally came out of the woman mouth was "sorry, you are not qualified for this visa".
And nobody should tell me that I didn't pray o, I prayed, I quoted the bible, I did everything necessary and I also prepared by reading more than one hundred transcripts and listening to Argo, an online organisation founded by over 20 former US visa officers, where they educate people on how to answer visa questions. And I practiced all these in mocks with people and alone.
I believe probably, that's just God's will. Maybe He has another plan for me

Good day house, please I want an honest opinion about the bank statements that may be requested at the point of interview. How many months bank statement do I need to show to the VO if requested. Can a 3-month statement suffice? that is the 3 months preceding the interview date. Or is it just all about what the bank balance states irrespective of the length of statement? Hoping for a quick response on this. Thank you.
A month is okay. In 99.9% of cases, they don't ask for the statement, you only need to defend your source of funding very well

Did you go for F1 and F2 at the same time? Is your wife F2 applicant? I get it that you make 24m naira/year but how much do you have in the account?

In my humble opinion, I think funding from your university might have really helps.

I will say it's all about grace. You can reapply asap but let the F1 go alone for now.
I have N16.5 million in the account i used which is in excess of the required amount. The actual amount is 15.8 million for me and my wife

You meant $35200@4.9m or 49m?
If your account still covers the revised new rate at N465, then it should not be a problem if your statement is less than 6months… or to be on safe side, print a new statement of account.
Good luck
Thanks for the reply. Wanted to type N14,900000 (14.9 million naira) was the amount then but it is now 16.24 million. The period is less than three months

Nairalanders, please I need your advice on what to do. I got admission to CSUCI in November 2022 for Spring January 2023 and the amount required for F-1 visa was $35200, which was N4900000 but i had N16,000000 in my account then, when a dollar was N422. But I didn't get early appointment time. I was given August but now my date has been rescheduled to April 20 of this year and when the school sent another i-20 form to me, they used the old account statement I sent to them in December 2022. Dollar rates now fluctuates between N460-N462, which will make the $35200 to be around N16270000. My question is should I take the old account balance to the embassy or do I need to print a new one to meet up with the current dollar rates? Thanks nairalanders in advance

I have read some other thread where someone said its mandatory one has significant publication to stand any chance of getting a fully funded offer. Please I would like to know if someone can get a fully funded offer in any of those countries without any scholarly publication. Anyone interested in an environmental science phd position should link up.
That's a misinformation. No need of paper publication before you can get a fully funded option

There is just a slight change in Dollar to Naira rate, remember official rate will be used.
So check current rate to know if you are still on the right track and since the account statement is not up to 6 months you can still make use of it
Thanks so much for the reply. The problem now is that the amount is now 2N24,000 above the initial amount with the current dollars rate. Hi, please, my interview date is on 20, April. I was supposed to go for Spring admission by 18, January 2023 but because of the backlogs, I was given August before I later got April 20,2023. The school used my old account statement, which was $38000 at N422 by December last year, then the school asked me to have $35200 for my i-20, but I had $38000 in my account. But now that the dollars rates have changed, my first question is can I use the same account statement because that was used for my i-20? My second question is that is the account still valid for my visa interview since that was what the school used for my i-20 and it was printed out like four months ago?

Health / Re: Food Supplement Is Better Than Western Medication To Cure Our Health Challenges by folamorgan(m): 10:41am On Jul 31, 2014
iamolalekan: Life is meant to enjoy not endure. Food supplement is better than western medications. Food supplements Revive, Repair, Restore, Renew and give you nutrient you lack on daily basis. The main causes of sickness is lack of good diet. others are Environmental pollution, lack of rest, lack of exercise. If you agree with me it is very difficult to eat balanced diet that's why we fall sick and western medication we just give us quick relief(quick action). That means it act on our system. Foods supplements starts his work from Cell » Tissue » Organ » System » Body. Also western medications has side effects. You can confirm these differences from your Doctors, Pharmacist, Nurses, health workers ETC ;
Western Medication cures disease by using external forces while foods supplement attempts to reinforce and stimulate body's internal strength to cure disease
Western Medication based on the theory that disease is caused by bacteria and other external means while foods supplement believes that disease is basically caused by the weakening state of the body as a whole
Western Medication appears to cure diseases more effective and quickly at the same time causing temporary or permanent damage to the internal system of a patient while food supplement may take longer time to cure disease but it strengthens the overall health of a patient and Doctors turns to foods supplement when there is side effect or no cure to disease.
