Kempguy47: Hi, you can only claim points from work experience that has been validated by the assessment body (in this case EA) The years of experience is boldly written on the outcome letter and that's the years of experience that you can claim in your application with DIBP. This assertion is incorrect! You actually do not necessarily have to assess your work experience with EA (mind you, I wrote EA; not sure of other assessment bodies). There are some engineers here who have gone through this path without assessing their work experience (@Ibiyemiara comes to mind). However, it is a good thing to do expecially when in doubt of the adequacy of the work related documents in your possession, as this will give you an idea of your standing with DIBP. I'd therefore say, if you have all your documents intact, kindly save yourself some money and prove your case only to DIBP. |

ZoeW: Finally, after what seems like an eternity I have gotten a positive assessment from ACS for ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO 261111). A big thank you to Azy123 and Alphadoor for your help. God bless una!!
Your Certified Information Systems Auditor from Information Systems Audit and Control Association completed October 2014 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a Major in computing.
This gives me 10 points instead of 15. So I have 70 points with a break down below:
Age - 30 English - 20 Experience - 10 Education - 10
Hoping for ideas guys. Thanks. @Zoew, can you please educate me on how you were able to claim 10 points for experience? I am of the opinion that work experience is counted after qualification, which in this case is October 2014, or is there something I'm missing? |

in conclusion - I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9 : 11)

eaglemaniac: I want to thank bellong and and other wonderful people that have made this forum very informative. The good news is that I just got a positive outcome from vetassess but I am in a dilemma. My wife just also got ITA from Canada express entry but has not submitted her application. Now we are confused on whether to go ahead with Australia or Canada since at this point we cannot apply for the two. Please which of the two should we go for? How good is the quality of life in Australia? Please elders and gurus in the house, I need your wise counsel. I urge you to go through this thread - https://www.nairaland.com/3483538/move-australia-canadaThe OP was in a similar situation as just found yourself, and he sure got lots of contribution for and against both countries. I believe this will assist in your research as advised by Bellong. I wish you the very best as you make this crucial decision. |

ENGRJCJ: Hello Everyone, who heard the news this morning? Visa 457 removed and some courses removed from skill list. The annoying thing is that this new policy takes effect immediately. Please if you have detailed information on these courses, please share with the house. I think I heard one of major engineering professions but I'm not really sure. This was extensively discussed yesterday. Check the last two pages for details. |
