Very bad. Terribly bad. Unfortunately, most youths in this country are after the quick money. Look around our communities and it's hard to see a youth who's not doing Yahoo or one illegal thing to survive. Eight out of ten guys in the place I stay are into internet fraud and the other two are probably still thinking about it.

They will never take domaining or any internet business serious. Look at the newbies for example and you can count how many really want to learn. You can spend your time all day telling them not to buy anything for now and the next minute you see that they just bought nonsense. And it's not just once or twice, but five and above.

We don't want the process but we want to reap the benefits and these are mostly what the yahoo boys and our rudderless government brought upon us. Always looking for how to scam, always looking for how to cut corners, always searching for ways to make that instant money without working for it.

The Judah guy is under the influence of the Yahoo Spirit hovering over the Nigerian space. Only few youths are ready to go through the process. I used to care so much and show so much patience but I figured that many do not really care. The tools to survive in domaining is here, namepros, DNAcademy, etc., and any person who truly wants to learn wouldn't prioritize DMs over these places.

I want to learn sir.pls were do I start from.am in abuja.

ikhalyfah:
Assalamu Alaykum and Hello! Eid Mubarak to you all.

Trust everyone is doing good and the business is going fine for everyone.

I've been away from the industry for several months. The last time I was active was October, 2021.

Stick with what works for you

First, I'll start by repeating the popular statement "Stick with what works for you". I disobeyed the rule for a second time and had to face the consequences. In an attempt to simplify some outbounding processes, I ignored my All-Manual and started focusing on automated method. However, it didn't turn out good and I had to deal with spam issues, less quality leads and overall less effective outbound. It all led to sales drought. This made me took my usual break, but It was a rather long break because during the break I got caught up with school activities, so I extended my break and focused on school. This was between Oct to Dec, 2021.

In January, I resumed but unfortunately lost my main domaining phone and my harddrive also crashed around the same time. I had to go off again to focus on my school project until the February ASUU strike occurred. During the first month of the strike I continued my project, but after it was rolled over, I suspended school activities and focused on how to continue domaining.

I was able to retrieve my Dan (and other marketplaces) account, all my emails and registry accounts were restored. I was fully ready to resume, but had to delay again because of Ramadan. Now, I believe I'm fully ready to resume.

Although I wasn't active, I did find time to search for brandables on ED and made some few investments during that period.

General Advice/ Guidelines

* Stick with what works for you. please note that this doesn't mean you shouldn't try other methods and strategies. However, always remember what has been working for you and focus on "perfecting" it. For newbies, keep on trying until you find that method that gives you consistent sales.

* Always follow up. Don't be shy, keep following up. Follow up is DEFINITELY the key!

* Buy sellable names. I personally do not buy a lot of names. I put more effort on follow up (because that has been my "soap"wink than new acquisitions. I can go a month with just about 5 purchases and double that figure in sales. However, everybody has his own method.

* Learn brandables and invest on them once in a while even if you are a full time Geo domainer! I got my first brandable sale at $2,304 at SH on 6 months installment. Details of sale will follow after all payments received or on default.

* You should have offline investments (IYKYK).

* After recent analysis, I found out that my best niches are Law and custom home builders. Sold about 40 and 20 names respectively.

Current portfolio

Geos = About 170

Brandables= about 250

Others= about 50

Properties / Re: Nigeria Should Ban Interment Of The Dead In Their Compound. by ford101: 10:16am On Apr 28, 2022

No one has replied my suggestion about compulsory property tax. In Nigeria most people do not pay property tax both for land and house , Once you buy a land and build a house in Nigeria ,it's yours forever, that should not be the case. there must be compulsory property tax. the money will be used to build and maintain roads, street lights, waste removal, etc. Even if the land is empty , the land owner must be paying tax for that land. that will discourage people from fighting over land due to the responsibilities involved. Also, land owners would be encouraged to utilize profit from their land and property , in order to generate profit to maintain the land. For example , a landowner can use their land for agriculture to generate profit.
the bigger the house and amenities and land, the bigger the property tax.

If a land owner or home owner defaults on payment of property tax, the land and house would be seized by the authorities .

Let me give you example, if Michael Jackson's Neverland was in Nigeria, he would not lose it because most Nigerians do not pay income tax, property tax ,sales tax ,etc.

There must also be compulsory insurance for all cars, whether the person is driving the car or not, he or she must pay insurance for that car . that will deter people from buying 10 cars . Also wrongful parking and overloading of vehicles must be heavily fined

we must learn from what other successful countries are doing and do the right thing or we will keep going in circles in the name of backward traditions and culture.
because your landlord isn't paying tax for his house doesn't mean that other people aren't paying.do your findings my family house in aba abia state we do pay every Yr.even shops in igbo land do pay tax.my old man do pay for his fire arm licence every year before the stopped giving licence

If I have no intention to leave the country yet, I'll buy it straight away.

All I'm asking is "is buying a car for just a 3 year duration worth it?".
In 2 years time like you said, I'll only have 1 year more in Nigeria and it won't be worth it.
if that's your problem then go and buy a car.cos your first night with your new car will be like 3days to you.before 3months your car sound will start to change.maybe before 7months the two front tyres will need change.so 3yrs with that car will be like for ever.i bought my first car last Yr August.

Happy Easter..

I felt I should drop this here and I need sound and helpful comments.

Growing up wasn't all that rosy, we had our challenges as family and watching my mom bear the responsibility of us all broke me.

Mom died , life became this harsh ,
I couldn't further my studies and I opt to hustle.

In the midst of this I was and still a chronic loner, I don't keep friends, always stuck with my phone and my raging thoughts.

Now I run my own business and it's improving but in the midst of all this I feel depressed, suffocated, life is meaningless to me.

There are days I just want to die.

I've never been genuine but I'm this guy who can make anyone laugh so hard.

In fact my face is never devoid of smile but it's all fake..

How do I get over this thoughts?
How do I find happiness??

I fear one day I might not be able to stop me from doing something stupid.
what type of business are you into?
