go back to the article.
Your meaning of sectarian violence is envy of Lagos youth vying to retain political power in Lagos.

So, Lagosians don't have the right to contest for election in their own ancestral land because you came to invest in Lagos, ba? grin

Did you allow the Hausas and Fulanis that have even collected your land by force and claimed indigeneship to become Governor in your state Plateau? Hypocrite.

Endsars? So, endsars only happened in Lagos. I mean was it Lagos thing?

Was there no arson experienced in other major cities across the country including South East, abi? Bloody liar.

Are you even claiming endsars and arson were carried out only by South Westerners? grin This guy use your brain walahi.

Who participated in Xenophobic attacks in Lagos?

What triggered it? I am not saying I agree with their actions targeted at South Africans but can you be honest for once.

So, other ethnic groups were not involved in the Xenophobic attacks in Lagos, abi? You bi real liar.

Oh! Hausa clash in 2015. Who started killing someone and tried to hid the murderer? You no get sense?

check the foreign investment statistics of Abia state last year. It is the second largest in the country despite Aba itself being the strong with seperatist agitation. Note that the East enjoys more local investment. The whole world know what's happening in the East is agitation. The west is suffering from sectarian violence and it's increasing and this is what killed North.
List all the sectarian violence in SW.

This plateau guy dey funny. Lagos ceased to be the Capital of Nigeria since 1979 when construction started in Abuja. Lagos was deliberately left to die in 1991 when Babangida moved to Abuja.

The federal government stopped investing in Lagos and relocated all the mda's to Abuja thinking Lagos will die.

It was in the state of comatose in 1999 when Tinubu became governor.

In fact, Obasanjo deliberately relocated every little thing remaining and deprived Lagos of funds.

We knew they wanted to move not only the Capital but also the economy activities of Lagos to Abuja.

They did everything to cripple Lagos but God pass man.

SW refused to relocate the headquarters of their businesses to Abuja eventhough they tried to force them to do so.

They even ordered all business to relocate the headquarters to Abuja including banks but swners no gree.

They even relocated seaport to Abuja and abandoned the airport. grin

Whatever you are trying to prove Nigerians control Lagos economy not Yoruba, you know how scanty Lagos always look when section of the country travel for yuletide, imagine how Lagos will look when the country divide everybody relocate to their regions those structures doesn't make economy it's the people, not owning the skyscrapers it's being active and people able to afford to rent it used the ones in Ibadan as a case study, 2% utilized, the last time I was there they don't even have money to maintain the buildings, the lift isn't working, today same Oyo that was once a vibrant economy today is number 17 on GDP, states that went through the war has surpassed Oyo state, when Nigeria cease to exit then you will understand better
You're such a shallow minded person. My family also travel to my town just next to Lagos on yuletide and majority of SW indigenes do.

Besides, what will one be doing outside on yuletide?

Is it not a day of rest? grin

Does Oyo have crude oil that you are expecting it to have more gdp than Imo and Anambra with oil?

Check Enugu and Ebonyi on the list. Where are they? grin

With all that, your Anambra GDP is just 2trn more than Oyo state. cheesy

Lagos economy was already developed before the entity Nigeria was formed. Long before other ethnic groups migrated to Lagos save Hausa and Tapa.

Lagos already had banks, tram, railway line, telephone, electricity, port, etc long before amalgamation of Southern protectorate. grin

First, there was no nation called Yoruba land before the British came. There were many Yoruba speaking nations.
Secondly the Portuguese owned the port in Lagos not the Yorubas.
Again Lagos no longer uses the ports established by the Portuguese so how does what you wrote connect with the present topic?
So what's your point exactly.
Lastly you are very ill informed. Have you heard of the Sahara trade routes. That was were most of the international business of the north passed through not Lagos. Please learn to study my brother.
Let me summarize your point.
The Portuguese built Lagos. Then the British continued from where the Portuguese stopped.
Then the Nigerian government continued and the people of Nigeria from various tribes all added value to Lagos. I am sure we both agree here.
This guy na confirm ignoramus. Which year did the Portuguese build the port in Lagos?

So, the Portuguese suddenly appeared in the 15th century and built the port before they disappeared back to Portugal to sail their ship down to Lagos, right? grin

You clearly don't understand. Lagos had by far the least percentage of Yorubas compared to any other SW states so that's a clear fact that it's greatness has nothing to do with Omoluabi's .
Oyo has a far greater percentage of Omoluabi's but a much smaller economy than Imo with almost no Omoluabi. This simply shows that Lagos is a Nigerian project and should be handled differently from the other SW states. I hope you understand it now.
Stop propaganda.

See the population census of Lagos in 1891.

Sorry, I didn't know your problem was this bad. Have you heard of Amalgamation of 1914? Have you heard of Southern and Northern protectorate? Have you head of Calabar being the first political capital of Nigeria until it was moved to Lagos in 1906? So in your small mind coloniaĺ masers came to Nigeria in 1914?

Go and buy JAMB form, no wonder some of you have such false sense of importance.
When was Calabar the first Capital of Nigeria? grin

There was never a time Calabar was the Capital of Nigeria.

Let me educate you a little. That's if you will learn.

Point 1; Calabar, Capital of Oil Rivers Protectorate (Efik, Ijaw, Opobo, Bonny etc) 1884 - 1893

Calabar was capital Oil Rivers Protectorate formed in 1884 when Obong of Calabar and Jaja of Opobo signed a treaty with the British though Jaja of Opobo was later defeated by the British in 1885.

N.B, Aro Confederation (Eastern Igboland, Ekoi, Ibibibio et) , Benin Kingdom (Edo, Benin, Esan, Uhrobo etc), Ekumeku movement (Western Igboland, Anioma, etc), Oguta/Owerri Kingdom were countries of their own as at that time in 1885.

Hence, Calabar was not the Capital of Nigeria because there was nothing like Nigeria in 1885. grin

Was Calabar the capital of Lagos Colony and protectorate? No. grin

Point 2. Oil River protectorate renamed Niger coast protectorate in 1893. Calabar retained as Capital from 1893 - 1900

Calabar remained Capital of oil Rivers protectorate until it was renamed Niger coast protectorate in 1893 after it expanded. Niger coast protectorate consists of coastal towns in the Niger Delta and Calabar. Was Calabar the Capital of Nigeria? grin Olodo. Na company get this places ooo. grin

Point 3: Calabar the Capital of Southern protectorate from 1900 - 1906 . Excluding Lagos Colony and Protectorate (South West) grin

In 1900, Niger Coast protectorate (Benin Kingdom now conquered and included) and Royal Niger Compay merged to form the Southern protectorate.

N.B. Royal Niger Company capital was at Asaba before it later moved to Lokoja. The conquered territories included Ekumeku movement, Aro confederation, Nembe, Ogu/Owerri Kingdom, Brassmen, etc in the South South and South Eastern part of the entity later called Nigeria. Though, Aro, Ekumeku etc were not fully conquered until 1902 and 1914 respectively.

Lagos colony and Protectorate (South West) were not part of South Protectorate in 1900.

Royal Niger company territories were sold for £856,000 to give way for the formation of Southern Protectorate in 1900.

However, Calabar became the joint capital of both Niger coast protectorate and Royal Niger company in 1900. grin

As at that time, Lagos already had Carter Bridge, Sea Port, Railway line, Tram, Telephone etc. How is Calabar Capital of Nigeria. grin

Point 4: Lagos and protectorate (South West) was merged with Southern Protectorate in 1906 after most Igboland were conquered in 1905. Woah! grin

This was when Lagos the most developed city in the entity Nigeria was adjourned the Capital of South Protectorate. Comprehend!!? grin

Take note that all these infrastructures were already in place in Lagos Colony and Protectorate as at 1906. grin

Besides, the administrative headquarters of all these British conquered territories was at Goldcoast. Does it means they were same countries? grin

The Government of Nigeria has made Lagos the only state suitable for large investment and ignored the other 35 states.

Nigeria government never made Lagos suitable for larger business rather Lagos was already suitable for large investment before the government of the entity Nigeria was formed.

Lagos already had electricity, telephone, tram, railway, banks, bridges, roads, street lights, houses, port, big economy etc as at 1891. That was long before British annexed Northern Nigeria, South South and other parts of Nigeria and even before the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914. Even long before your ethics group enter Lagos.

Where did the money come from to develop Lagos as at then?

Rather, it was because other part of Nigeria were too unprofitable as at then, the British had to merge Lagos and SW with other regions to sustain and develop them. British used Lagos money to develop Nigeria. Facts.

Without Lagos and SW money, other regions will be like sudan.

These are the inhabitants of Lagos in 1891 when all these developments were already available in Lagos and sw while other regions were still fighting British in their enclaves.
