ProudlyKenyan: Nope. It coz Kenya and South Africa cities are planned. You can distinguish a slum. Nigeria cities are not planned or zoned. You can go to Dar, Adis and many Africa countries (including Kenya new cities) and you'll see the same situation. You either call the town a slum or something close to it. The slum shanty sit next to office block which is adjacent to warehouse which is next to school.
Cities with colonial history like Nairobi, Joburg, Harare, Windhoek, Capetown and such have slums coz the European enforced strict planning and zonning.Nairobi to it's credit has continued with measured success to enforce those plans. I mean Nairobi masterplan was copied by Singapore coz the British did a good job...there are areas for everything including forests, rivers, animal parks.
Lagos is one big slum...so big they had to start a new town..ABUJA...which was an attempt to plan and zone things.
How do you even go counting slums in Nigeria cities? Zero spatial planning. How many planned cities are in South Africa? 2. How many planned cities are in Kenya? None. |

ProudlyKenyan: Show me Nollywood money. Show me the multi-billion dollar entertainment. Producing copious amount of really low grade movies focusing on witchcraft is not multi-billion dollar just like wearing multi-coloured printed cloth.
I consider south africa entertainment industry the most mature in Africa. They've produce movies, musics, books and arts that has won GLOBAL acclaim. Nigeria produces what Nigeria produces - low quality stuff I won't be found dead watching or listening or reading. Nigeria has also produced musics, books and arts that has won GLOBAL acclaim. |

ProudlyKenyan: Pictures don't lie. You can see South Africa pictures depict a truly middle-class country and you see Kenyan pictures look good. Nigeria cities are creepy looking. You cannot even distinguish slum areas from non-slum areas coz 90% of the city is a mishmash of slum and creepy looking buildings. They have maybe 10 pictures that they keep reposting and reposting - coz entire city is cesspool.
Outside Oil and banking (after their recent forced merge of 60 banks to make 18 banks now) nigeria is a sh.iet hole. If kenya forced their 45 banks to merge to 18 banks...then they will be as big as Nigeria banks but kenyan banking sector would be poorer. Kenyan banks still rank Africa's most innovative and profitble. There should be space for small nimble innovative banks. South Africa I think is on the extreme on this - they have I think 5 banks.
As for Nigeria & Lagos GDP; those are totally cooked figures which recession is making a big joke of it.
Nigeria depend on OIL. Nigeria will remain the armpit of Africa for a long time. Hehehehe! Only banking and oil kwa! Where were you when I showed you how we are more developed than Kenya in every sector? |

Are you sure Bet9ja brings in any foreign exchange. It's jobless naija youth who use the little they have to place bets. I doubt any serious foreign exchange finds it's way into naija if any. So by the crazy guy going to buy a European Team, he'll go to your central bank to convert his bet naija earnings in naira into Euros, the only currency acceptable there. The dude bought the club to mainly promote his betting company and that will enrich him, his family, his community and his country. Don't focus only on the capital. Now, do you mean the British are also jobless to place bet? Now, read and take note of the 19 million customers. obaaderemi: Kenya,s sports seem more organised than ours.the olympics is the best yardstick.nigeria has not made use of its huge potentials.my opinion though Maybe but Nigeria is still ahead of Kenya in sports if consider holistically. However, the Olympics is not the highest level of achievement in sports because aside the Olympics competition, many sport associations have their own major competitions. For instance, in Football, you have FIFA, CONCACAF, UEFA , CAF etc which are rated highly than the Olympics. this is also obtainable in other sports |

The Nigerian dude will bring in more foreign exchange to the country by exporting Nigerian players from his own football club and other footfall clubs in Nigeria. It's painful arguing with you. Ops! My bad. pardon me.... Korean population is 50 million, Kenya is equally same or even more. Nevertheless, who is better in sports between Nigeria and Kenya? NairobiWalker: Dude - stop your stupidity already. Laughing sheepishly won't hide your naivety and lack of info. We are talking of Nigeria's dominance in sports, the guy you're quoting wins medals for the UK not Nigeria. You could bring a video of his mother giving birth to him in Nigeria and screaming in Igbo but that won't make him Nigerian. We are not talking of his roots, we are talking about who he represents in competition. Kenya has several of them FYI - you saw the girl that won the gold medal in 3000m steeplechase in Rio? Yes, her name is Ruth Jebet - she was born in Kenya, pure Kenyan blood, lives in Kenya and even after the Olympics she came directly to Kenya - Eldoret City and you know what? She runs for Bahrain. Her gold medal went to Bahrain and you won't see us posting her photo here to show Kenya's dominance because we have hundreds of other internationally renowned athletes we can post. Now that's real dominance.
FYI there are so many former Kenyan sportspersons playing for the US, Canada, UK and gulf states (likes of Bernard Lagat, Chris Froome etc, you can google them) but we don't bother including them among Kenyan sportspersons since they don't win medals for Kenyans.
I don't know what your rant over South Korea is - you exposed your stupidity already and I called you out on it. Googling about SKs and Kenya's population and reposting them here won't erase that. I already know the populations of the two countries that's why I called you on your idiocy when you claimed Kenya is more populous - stop posting me things I already know (I went to the University of Nairobi and I'm very informed). Just Google that stuff quietly for your own sake so that you won't embarrass yourself anymore next time buddy. Now, let us see how informed you are. Who made the statement below, stating that the population of Kenya is 60 million? If the population of Kenya is 60 million as you've said and that of South Korea is 50 million then tell us, which is greater btw 60 million and 50 million, Mr informed? NairobiWalker: That a country of 180M people can be so hell-bent on claiming a sportsman from a country of only 60M people yet still claim to be a sporting powerhouse is the highest level of absurdity. Now, look at the current population of South Korea before you do your addition and subtraction.
