2) US has been carrying out a counter weapons tests of hypersonic missiles. The difference is that theirs is air-luanched, unlike missile-luanch of Russia. The US have not yet been able to perfect air-launched HS missiles.
The huge military budget is generally over-bloated because it's 'job for the boys', and the high cost of living in the Western nations compared to Putin's Russia.
What the Russians will develop with a thousand dollars, the US military will spend a hundred thousand dollars for the same research and development.

Dear 'student', let me oblige you by responding to your query one last time. Who told you Russia is not competing favourably in all the areas you mentioned, despite all the USA inspired malevolent Western nation's sanctions for about a decade now?

Why many of you are narrow-minded is you follow only the narratives of the Western propaganda media (apologies to Baba Lai M. and co... ).

Tell me one area of technology that the Russians are not advance and sufficient, at least for their local market, despite the cynical USA orchestrated sanctions that has generally failed. Compare their technological self-sufficiency to the si many household US products now that is either Chinese or Japanese patented. From now till next 5-10 years, USA companies will still be buying rocket engines from Russia to take their payloads to space.

Agriculturally, Russia has the largest grain production and reserves in the world now(arguably) with huge export to many nations...and many more strategic agricultural products.

Russia has some of the best health systems and practitioners (very high level of female literacy and physicians) in the developed world. The health services come at a much more reduce cost compared to same treatment in the US.

Lastly, if you don't know that the Russians have a highly organized and disciplined education system, and that they have perhaps (arguably) the highest number of science and art geniuses in the world, sorry is your case.
