The point is that you should never put Anambra with pariah states like Abia and Imo states on the same sentence. Every state has its class. Discuss your Abia state without joining it with the progressive Anambra, they are never on the same level.

Don't ever put Anambra with your backward Abia state on the same sentence next time. Abia and Imo are the two most backward states in igbo land and Nigeria in general. Abia and Imo should take a cue from developments in Anambra. Owerri and Aba are siamese twins, both are dilapidated shitholes. Posting random ugly useless plaza is not the reason to post nonsense.

Anambra is the most developed state in igbo land, that's why millions of Imolites are running to Anambra for greener pasture.

There is about 4 of such on ikenegbu area alone.many more are dotted around the city. It makes shopping in owerri enjoyable and still helps regulate waste. Just wish the city had more nature parks. So far in terms of shopping, hotels, ambiance and in short hospitality, there isn't a city in the East like owerri. Abia and Anambra should take a cue out of owerri (In terms of modern shopping complexes)

Address the airport issue instead. My father is not a politician so not exposed to public scrutiny or owe anybody any expectation.
[/s]

Why didn't you discuss the airport instead you went ahead to call him a drunk. Your father has the same right as Obiano to contest elections. If Obiano is a drunk, why not push for your useless father who is not a drunk to contest and let's see how many votes he would garner.
PoliticsRe: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER:
You are talking about Obiano and calling him drunk. Where was your own useless drunkard father when his mates were contesting elections? If your own father was reasonable and not a drunkard he would have contested elections like his fellow men did.

You will now turn around to say that I insulted your father but you forgot that Obiano whom you insulted is equally someone's father and husband.

Yes he gave a timeline for the project completion, even America hasn't met its timeline in their project execution because there are factors that could make or mar project completion timelines. How many times has 2nd Niger bridge completion timeline has been shifted?

The important thing is that the project gets completed plus or minus few months.

[s]
REGENMASTER:
Forgive Obiano. He may have had some of those his favourite drinks before promising Ndi Anambra heaven on earth. You know politicians in their ego trip always think every citizenry is stupid. There is no need for Obiano to rush completion of the airport and end up giving us substandard project. I can accept 2022 completion date so long as we have a decent world standard airport project. With regards to size, I wish he made the terminal imposing but let's have solace that there is enough space for a future International terminal. What we are having on ground now is a domestic terminal which can still squeeze in international travels.

Igbo unity is not different from One Nigeria mantra, because when next there is another opportunity to sack non indigenes, it will still show clearly that there's nothing like igbo unity. That phrase is just for convenience and media propaganda just like one Nigeria mantra. My point is that you should love yourself first before considering outsiders. Don't allow outsiders tell your story.

When Achebe rebutted Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness. it was because as at the time the Heart of Darkness was released, no one in Africa could actually put pen to paper to write something meaningful by the way of literature. The worst is that the person you attacked did not come out gun blazing to attack, he spoke based on his limited knowledge. Correct him mildly and move on.

Changes are made by men. England despite their strength still want to be one country with Wales,Scotland and Ireland. All kinds of autonomy has been granted to the Welsh, Scottish and Irish, but a lot of people in these country still voted to be part of United Kingdom, why? Strength in numbers and cultural affinity. While we are all dissatisfied with Nigeria, we are not dissatisfied with ourselves. Where do you loyalty lie? With Igbo or Anambra? If your loyalty lies only with Anambra then something is wrong somewhere because a new government might come up tomorrow and decide to carve out a new state from Anambra. If your town happen to fall into new state created what will happen?

Being Igbo is eternal. It transcends artificial land demarcation. There are Jews in Russia, USA, even Germany but their heart, soul and loyalty lies in Jerusalem. The fact that families separate to chart their own course does not in any way change their DNA make up. The time of divide and rule in Igboland is long gone. A new Igbo nationality and identity is here upon us. What is happening in Ebonyi should concern me, same with Imo, Abia, and Enugu.

The only reason Lagos and Abuja make money is because of INTERNATIONAL traffic. The PSC for international travellers is $100 while it is N2,000 for domestic travellers. So 3m passengers that go through MMIA give it $300m while the 4m domestic travellers that go through Lagos pay just 8bn Naira or around $20m.For Anambra airport to be sustainable and not another white elephant like Asaba it will either need more than 2 million domestic passengers or at least 100,000 international passengers.

See nzuzu at another level. At some point in history Nigerians had birth certificate was bearing Britain, isn't it? But today will you still allow Britain runs your affairs in Abuja? The same Britain was once a member of European Union, but not anymore. The point I am trying to make is that change is a constant thing.

The same people you called your umunna once sacked your own people from the civil service in the name of non indigenes. Are you getting the point now? People tend to love themselves first before outsiders.

There was a time Ebonyi was part of Enugu and Abia, but not anymore. Then Ebonyi was OK by using Enugu airport. Now do you know why the same Ebonyi is building it's own airport even when unnecessary? It is because they want to chart their own course.

The same thing happens in families. At a point everyone was OK using one room, at some point some start feeling uncomfortable and start moving to another locations for convenience and comfort.

I can go on and on..

The main reason I called you onye nzuzu is because you are willing to accept incorrect information just to prove how United igbos are. That's very dumb and '"mumuism". The bigger fool is you that believe that at this point in the history of Igbo nation that what we need most is unhealthy rivalry and competition among brothers. State creation was a recent event. Before then we were all Igbos occupying the eastern geographical area of Nigeria. Some of your comment in this forum gives life to the alleged 'Anambra supremacy' attitude against other Igbos which is by all means false and total balderdash.
am onye Anambra. Born and raised in Onitsha. In real life, when two Igbo people meet each other for the first time ,during introduction each will first state the town he hail from. You will hear something like "a bu m onye okigwe" or "Onye Obollo afor" or "Onye Ogidi". It is only when the other party could not place the town being mentioned that you will hear the narrator using the administrative identity like local government and state to help others understand where he hails from. There is a reason town union associations in most Igbo and non Igbo cities are stronger than their state unions or even the umbrella Igbo body at large. Till thy Kingdom come, Igbos will continue to use administrative state structures for what it was meant to achieve; governance and infrastructure development. But you see, the true identity of an Igbo man lies in his clan. And our unity stem from the core similarities we share culturally as a people despite our fiercely independent disposition.
inally, Igbos are a very intelligent race. We all know our areas of strenght and weakness. Each part of Igboland brings their own contribution to the table of greater Igbo achievements. We all know who is good at what. There is no need for argument amongst us. Desist from insulting people at will, it is bad taste.

When we start dancing again on Imo thread you will start crying up and down.

[s]
BastardWike:
The airport will help to boost the economy of Anambra state. However, the most important factor that will ensure massive industrial growth is to have dedicated gas supply to Onitsha and Nnewi, same way it was built in Lagos, Aba, Ogun and P.H. Aba is the most industrialized city in Igboland and it is due to the gas facilities available there same as Ogun state. he truth is that Anambra in particular and Igboland in general has huge potential which is yet to be scratched. Already, we have dominated trade and commerce in Subsaharan Africa as well as the value chain and interface with China. In fact, with the coming on board of Aftcta, Igbos should endeavor to make our region viable by leveraging our trade and commerce dominance with large numbers of SME's to start producing what we sell here in our region and then use our large markets and trade/commerce network as launch pads. Lagos and later Ogun state became a Mecca for industries with a good number of them built by Igbos because we were targeting the Lagos and ECOWAS market, but with Aftcta, the entire Africa is now the focus and we already have a headstart because I know that many Igbos doing business in places like Cameroun, Mali, Congo, Uganda, Gabon etc sometimes do get some of their goods in places like Onitsha, Aba, Lagos and Nnewi. Now, Igboland has advantage over Lagos/Ogun region because we are more centrally located to reach both East, Central and Southern Africa than Lagos. Aftcta has changed the dynamics because whether Nigeria breaks or not, we are already looking at a market of over 1 billion people.

TravelRe: Anambra Works With Air Peace To Bring Embraer Service Centre To The State by FOXDOSSIER: 7:01am On Feb 07, 2021
From page material

ANSMEDIA:
Anambra to work With Air Peace to bring Embraer Service Centre to the State

The Anambra State government has set in motion the machinery to work with West Africa’s leading airline, Air Peace, to get Embraer of Brazil, the world’s fourth largest civilian aircraft manufacturer, to locate a service centre for Africa in the state.

Though the details of the state government’s move are not yet made public, it is understood that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has since last year been in talks with the Air Peace founder, Chief Allen Onyema, to get the Brazilians to cite the service centre at Anambra International Cargo Airport at Umueri which is still undergoing construction.

At the delivery last week of Air Peace E195 –E2 in Lagos, Chief Onyema made a passionate appeal to the Brazilian embassy in Abuja to advise the Embraer Corporation in Sao Paulo to build a service centre in Nigeria to cater for the African region.

The brand new plane, registered as 5N-BYF, is the first in 13 Embraer aircraft ordered by the airline for its African regional routes.

“As the first carrier in Africa to purchase Embraer’s E series, which is the latest, Air Peace, with our support, is in a strong position to lobby the manufacturer to bring such a centre to our state”, Governor Obiano said today in a virtual discussion with some members of his administration working quietly on the project.

Anambra International Cargo Airport, the second biggest airport in the country, is designed to accommodate at least one hanger to service different kinds of aircraft, according to Air Vice Marshall Ben Chiobi (retired), Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Creative Security and a former Nigerian Air Force pilot who also used to be the military attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Paris, France.

When he visited the airport last August, an impressed Chief Onyema pledged to build a hanger there.

“If Air Peace builds a hanger there and Embraer follows suit with an African service centre, the vision of building this modern and large airport on a very large swath of land will have been realized”, stated Chief Obiano.

“We didn’t set out to build just any airport, but a strategic one which will help boost traditional commerce in our state and beyond, but, quiet importantly, result in technology transfer and in the transformation of our economic landscape”.

Meanwhile, the state government has described Chief Onyema as the greatest current promoter of private diplomacy in Nigeria.

“Onyema”, said Governor Obiano in a message to the Air Peace chairman following the acquisition of the new plane from Brazil, “has shown that you need not be in government or hold any public office to effectively promote the interests of your country.

“It is not just in Brazil that he has boosted our reputation far better than any person but also in such places as South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates where Air Peace flies into regularly, with plans to start flying into the United States, India, Israel and the United Kingdom shortly.

“What is more, the excellent safety record of the carrier and the efficient ground and onboard services it provides, coupled with its schedule integrity, have all combined to make it compete effectively with the best airlines in the world.

“We are proud that Chief Onyema, a worthy son of Anambra State, is championing African economic integration, a Nigerian foreign policy plank, through tireless opening of regional routes.

“This is to say nothing about his promotion of national integration and unity by flying every hour to all parts of Nigeria.

“Air travel in Nigeria would have been extremely difficult if not for Chief Onyema who is not driven by the profit motive but service to humanity, starting with fellow Nigerians”.

Air Peace, which commenced commercial operations in 2013, has 30 aircraft in its fleet, with 23 more expected from both Embraer and Boeing Corporation of the United States, the world’s biggest aircraft manufacturer.

C. Don Adinuba

The economic miracle of the United Arab Emirates is unrivalled and is now ranked among the secure and stable economies offering one of the most sought-after investment destinations on the planet.

The Gross Domestic Product, or GDP, of the nation leapt to Dh1,248 billion by the end of 2011 from Dh6.5 billion in 1971, and is on track to grow by four per cent in 2012 defying global headwinds.

Thanks to an aggressive diversification strategy envisioned by the leadership, oil that constituted 70 per cent of the UAE’s economy in 1971, currently accounts for just 29 per cent of the GDP.

“Concerted efforts to diversify the economy and a policy of openness adopted by the UAE’s leadership have been the prime drivers in establishing the UAE as the second-largest Arab economy,” says UAE Minister of Economy, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri.

The country’s nominal GDP for the first time crossed the Dh1 trillion mark in 2010 and currently the GDP per capita is Dh174,000 per annum. According to forecast, the economy is on track to grow by four per cent in 2012 despite the headwinds posed by the eurozone woes and general bleak global prospects.

Over the past four decades, the value of the UAE’s foreign trade went up from Dh13 billion to Dh1,737 billion in 2011 while the share of non-oil sectors in GDP rose from 30 per cent to 71 per cent.

Anambra international airport is here. God continue to bless Anambra state, the light of the entire black race

ChimaAdeoye:
Gov. Wille Obiano is truly a magician!!! How did he get the money for such world class project?
Obiano is finally bequeathing Anambra with one the best airports in West Africa!

Everything from the access roads, Main Airport gate, runway, taxiway, car parks, fire stations, Emergency medical clinics, 2 level terminal building, Water supply station, mini power station was well thought out!!! With more space for future expansion and development!

The official airport January 2021 Status Update video released by the state government! O'lboy, this is indeed a massive project. Everything is done at the best international standard!!!

Anambra finally has a true international airport to facilitate trade and commerce without depending on the whims and caprices of others!
I am hoping the begin planting trees, flowers and grass now around areas that no further construction is needed. Also they need beautiful trees and flowers along the main airport road all the way to the parking lots to give it the best ambiance possible!
