I laugh in Ika Mtn can sue him o, he criticizing mtn as an airtel ambassador can be viewed in a court as not being free speech but an assassination of Mtn's image for Airtel's gain. And when Mtn sues, Airtel not wanting to get involved in the whole bohaha or pay damages will just disown Akpororo. Akpororo should tread with care. |

OBAGADAFFI: Sues for what?
The constitution treats tradition and culture within its domain.
Why do you think constitution recognizes sharia law, for the North. the constitution only respects 'culture and tradition' in the area of settling disputes (the judgement of traditional courts are only valid when both party agree to settle their dispute in the aforementioned before hand). The constitution does not oblige anyone to bend to traditions. I thought every one has agreed that sharia being practized in the north is extremism and religious fundamentalism? Or do you think amputation is a fair punishment for theft? |

lawnreigh: America is advance democracy & even at that who told you all is well in America? Why are they having problems on whether or not they should use confederate flag? especially in the southern states & why are the native Americans trying to preserve their culture and heritage? widen your horizon and know more than what the western propaganda feeds you before spewing trash widen my horizon into comfortably accepting that another man's land is more advanced than mine? The natives and the confederate flag promoters and every other american are under one constitution as equals, the same way your Deji and everyother Nigerian is under one same constitution. The constitution treats tradition and culture the same way it treats Religion, no one has an obligation to bend to any tradition or culture, it is only done out of courtesy. I hope the Eze-ndigbo sues. |

Take it or leave it we are self sufficient with what we have in our region that why we are not wanderers, Hausa wander because of poverty in their land i.e almajiri's and you people wander because of same purpose & ur states aren't commercial enough, if you are not satisfied go and develop ur eroded states and leave our land or else massive flogging await you people Americans relocate within america ( a way bigger country ) without being referred to as immigrants or being subjected to any laws outside state and federal laws. Fight for your Oduastan republic and return to constituted monarchy. |

donphilopus: @OP, since you're from Owan, I guess you've heard of Igarra. Whenever the Royal Family has a Case in Court with the Non-Royal Families, our King (Otaru) does put on his Crown to the Court Premises, but the self-acclaimed Kings (non-royal family heads) don't try that because the Court doesn't recognise them. If Eze-Ndigbo has a Court Case against the Deji, can he (Eze) put on his Crown to the Court? If NO, why then would he put on his Crown when visiting the Deji?! Can the deji also put on his crown in court? No! The court is government, backed by the law and poised to interpret the law. While the Deji and the Eze-ndigbo are figure heads. |
Politics › Re: My Sincerest Apologies To The Oba Of Akure; by fr3do(m): 10:31pm On Oct 17, 2015 |
lygn19: even if the market likes let it be 100percent igbos, if the law of the land says only the Oba can appoint a market head nothing can change that unless the law changes. Its just like the python practice in Anambra if a yoruba man doing business there kills a python and is found out, according to the law he must bury it the traditional way, the yoruba man has to obey it, unless he decides to flee at night, he has no right to start questioning there tradition that has been passed on from generation to generation. Nonsense! If Akure forbids the killing of say goat, no one will kill goats But to compare the sacredness of the Python in some parts of Igboland to this intrusive unconstitutional archaic practice is bad analogy. The market is to a large extent an association, and the constitution gives total freedom to associate peacefully, no tradition or culture is above the constitution. |

DeLaRue: It's as if the Igbos have an agenda to forment inter tribal chaos. As a stranger in a land, yes, you can challenge some things, but challenging a people's tradition in this way is peculiar to Igbos and ill advised. this is one Nigeria no part of Nigeria is foreign land to any Nigerian no Nigerian is a 'stranger' in any part of Nigeria as he enjoys the same full consitutional rights as he does even in his home town. Your Deji and I are equals under this Nigerian constitution. If yorubas want to return to constituted monarchy, they should fight for odua republic. |

Firefire: I don't support this call outrightly but...
“It is globally accepted that there cannot be two kings in the same domain as there cannot be two captains in the same boat.”
However, this calls is against the spirit of National Unity and Oneness, BUT our Igbo brothers and sisters should tread softly and let understand our limitation when on foreign land until the law is amended.
Agba ki wa lo ja, ki ori omo tuntun wo oooo.
I am proudly Nigerian and not advocating for any tribe / race. one Nigeria means that we are all under one constitution as equals, and this constitution does not require one to be subjected to the constraints of any culture. You can get your odua republic and fall back to constituted monarchy. |
