Hopesweet: Don't be offended at that post, it is not meant for those who believe with me ,that God can still perform his miracles even at the dying minute. I have been trying to encouraged everyone, ( both UBE and PPSB) but some persons just want to debunk every claim that it is not possible except Febuaury next year, (that is the infor they gathered from PPSB). So what do u expect me to say? Let it be done to them according to their heart desire.

Hopesweet: My dear, l'm not trying to critize anybody's comment here. But candid speaking, UBE Board and PPSB are not the same. I only relay the information based on what is happening at UBE, precisely accounting Unit. PPSB may not pay this month not even January, being that they are still struggling with the issue of APL till date, let alone opening of account, which is still pending. I only pray God should touch their heart to fasten up everything, especially for the sake of my pals in that board.

Pls just concentrate on ur Ube. Don't predict what will happen in ours(ppsb) ok. Afterall you're not God.

emekatex: Dear friends, i went to PPSB 2day to collect my new APP letter only to find out dt my name was wrongly spelt on d letter and dt made me nt to collect it nor fill d new form.hwever, d officer asked me to write d correct Names and call bck on monday to check whether it hv been corrected. There's nothing to worry about. U're not alone. Some of my friends have d same problem and were told to do exactly what u did. I'm sure they'll do it. It's better to nip it in d bud than later. Just know ur appointment later is not lost and of course you're going to be paid when we're being paid cos ur name is already in the nominal roll. So cheers...

emekatex: According to Treasure FM 10am news dis morning . The biometric exercise for d newly recruited teachers is nw on hold.(suspended) but d director for ICT said d teachers shuld nt worry dt d Govt wil pay them all salaries dt are due for them. Hence, there is no cause for alarm!

. It's for ppsb. Go to the board with your original credentials including exam slip. The reposting isn't for everyone but a few who only God knows their reason. The new apl contains all d in4 needed 'cept how much we're going to be paid.

So pls, can someone explain to me how all these are going to facilitate payment of our salary. As far as I'm concerned, this is just additional stress 'without pay'.

It's based on where you're from and it's called 'posting letter'. Even some people were shocked to see that they've reposted.

Please is the Local govt according to the school u're posted to or according to where you're from?

Is any ppsb at d secretariat? Please do inform the house on what's going on especially for those coming from far places.

They've visited mine twice, mostly to check our lesson notes, diary etc.

Fiafiad: It?s for all the LGAs. Each LGA will be directed to open their account in a designated Bank, begining from Monday.

Hope this wouldn't affect d salary being paid on Tue/Wed as we're led to believe.

teejaymmm: PDP Issues 7 (Seven) Days Ultimatum to Amaechi to Pay Teachers? Salaries

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, observes with utmost dismay, and condemns in strong terms the non-payment of salaries of the newly recruited teachers in Rivers State for four months today and also regretted the inconveniences they have faced for that long without salaries, which clearly is as a result of mismanagement, poor financial planning and politicization of all sectors of Rivers economy by Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

The Party therefore wishes to state that the explanation offered by the Rivers State Ministry of Education that the State government lacks funds to pay the teachers has vindicated the Party?s position that the Rivers State government is broke.

The Party in a statement signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media to the State PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah, says the Governor?s action has further confirmed that gathering the newly recruited teachers at the liberation stadium under the guise of issuing them employment letters, and later planned to use them to protest against the President of Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan has vindicated the position of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police.

?In the light of the above, the PDP warns Governor Rotimi to stop playing politics with the lives and future of these innocent newly recruited teachers and also admonishes him (Amaechi) to settle down in Rivers State to face the mirage of problems he has created with a sincere determination to solving them, rather than chasing shadow in the name of All Progressives Congress, APC?.

The Governor?s insensitivity to the plights of the recently engaged civil servants in the State has caused so much embarrassment to Rivers People within and outside the country. It is in this respect that the PDP as a responsible Party regrets and apologises for the choice of Amaechi as Governor of the State.



In the same vein, the Party also condemns the N24, 000 basic monthly salary earmarked for each of the newly recruited teachers, stressing that such amount falls short of what is paid graduates all over, as basic salary.

The party asks Governor Amaechi to without further delay regularize this anomaly and pay all these graduate teachers, what is obtainable in civil service.

The Party therefore, issues a 7(seven) day ultimatum to the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi to pay all salaries and allowances owed all newly recruited teachers in the State.

Chibuking81: According to radio fm Nigeria info this morning, Rivers state PDP gave the government 7 days ultimatum to pay the 4 months salary of the newly recruited teachers in Rivers state. All am saying is that let them not change the mind of government toward their decision to pay us next week tuesday or wednesday . God I thank you, even those who said all sort of bad things against us are the one fighting for us, wonder shall never end, not withstanding, I love our dear governor, His excellency Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, he is the best.

An inspector that came to our school last week told us that payment will be after three months, starting from 1st Oct and dt arrears will be paid. He also told us "latest Dec" but said we shouldn't quote him oh!

Ogondah: First of al, my principal told us in a general meeting today day our pay was supposed to b dis week but because of the delay frm head teachers in submitting der nominal role caused d delay. So he said we should expect it frm nxtwk.
Secondly, we r supposd to knw d amount, its ur rit nt to take anytyn jst because u r so eager to b paid, if u want anytyn start praying frm today dat ur monthly pay should b below 20k and tell me hw it feels. Ppl wit der funny way of denying the fact dey it dos mata to dem

Rexmarysweet: Instead of Commenting on our Salary he is busy showing his avowed hatred for the Transparent Recruitment of the 13,000 Teachers as against the Usual way of paying 300,000 and 400,000 for one to be recruited. I was posted to Ahoada West and till date,i kept faith with the situation only for this Talkative to spoil my day today as I listened to the News. What Rubbish. Almost five Months without payment and your talking of Truancy. God will Judge you.

Ruthkpenkis: pls educate me more on that NTI programme. What is it all about and where is their lecture being held? I am very much interested.

NTI means National Teachers Institute, after which u'll get a Post graduate diploma in Education hence PGDE. It's mostly 4 those who don't have a degree in education and want to acquire one. Lectures are held at St John's campus.

. The programme runs for one year, from Jan-Dec in two semesters. U know 25k + additional 800naira for each semester. Once u pay, u get d modules(txt bks) for d courses for dt semester. D earlier d better cos d books are mostly in short supply at first, even though u must still get all finally, sometimes after d exam. U obtain ur form from Zenith bank. But I'll advice u to go to NTI office at Fed secretariat first, dn they'll tell u what to do. Lectures are held only on Saturdays, from 8am till ...It's an interesting programme though a bit strenuous. Wish u all d best.

Now that we're civil servants of Rivers state, we should form d habit of listening to Rstv and NTA ph news. I heard d news on Rstv, first it was through public announcement, then later on at 7.30pm news. D information even kept being passed on d telly throughout d news period. So do not blame the government pls.

BloggerAdmin: I just drove from rumuokoro to mile one...all schools are locked...and d security personnels are asking students to go back home...if u know port Harcourt, you would know how many public schools there are from rumuokoro to education.....pupils are going back home and I am even feeling sober that they're being rebuffed...some were brought to school on a school run by parents/guardians....now they seem stranded..why dint the Rivers State Government make this public announcement earlier yesterday....it all goes to feed and justify our doubts on the rationale of a more than one week's disruption on the academic calendar when this is supposed to be week ten..the last pedagogical week.....Hmmmmmmmm...only say me PERSONALLY love the hols.........in fact, it is a welcomed development!
