Business / Re: ABCON To CBN: Reduce FX Rate So Our Members Can Bid For More Dollars by frank33(m): 8:02pm On Apr 07
Elliotwaveforec:
Is CBN not monitoring the open market rate before fixing the price for BDC operators?

CBN, reduce the BDC rate to N900 now to expedite the appreciation of our dear Naira.

See Black market at 1242 and CBN --fixed BDC at 1252.

So, if CBN reduces to N900, definitely black market will crash below N900.

IMF should come and learn work from Wale Edun joor!

So by your analogy, cbn can wake up tomorrow and say that 1 dollar is now 100 naira. And just like that 1 usd = 100 naira.

Do you not see that this cannot be true. Slow down with your excitement, you don't understand how this issue works.

Well, it may be a lie but the exchange rate is reflecting it. Maybe hot air releasing, but it moved, lol.

The market reacted to the news, which is most likely a lie from FG. When the truth comes out, you know what will happen.

All analysts have explained how there were no dollars to give airlines or to settle genuine dollar requests. Hence the need for the president to travel round the world looking for FDI and FPI.

Remember what it has taken to get AFRINEXIM bank 3bn.

All of a sudden you hear 7bn has been cleared and you believe without questions. Mr positive thinker use your brain!

Government is increasing TB interest rates to encourage more people to purchase TBs.

The more people buy TBs, the less cash they will have to buy dollars.

The aim is to reduce the demand for dollars within the country. They want to stabilise the exchange rate (slow the decline of the naira) by any means possible.

Make your choice, buy TB at this high interest rate or buy dollars. Shikena

Investment / Re: Is The Naira Truly Floated by frank33(m): 11:52am On Jun 26, 2023
If the government is being honest, then the I&E window average should be in use across all government payments.

What is really going on
Investment / Is The Naira Truly Floated by frank33(m): 11:39am On Jun 26, 2023
If Naira is truly floated why is customs not using the average of the I&E window to calculate duty?

Customs duty is currently calculated at N589/Dollar

If the Federal Government is still regulating exchange rate for duty, then its only a matter of time before we will return back to the days of multiple exchange rates.

Or am I missing something

Hello fellow investors.
I have 150,000 units of gtco. But I just received N378,000 from Datamax as dividend. That is 2.52 per share.

I use meritrade for investing

But I thought gtco paid 2.8, which should be N420,000.

What am I missing guys?

Rubbiish:

This is the reason it is not worth the relocation. These places mentioned are no different from your Onitsha. If u want to live around town or close to town, u are really going to spend hugely on accommodation.

So you are saying there aren't more opportunities for business or investments in like real estate.

Also what of more exposure for the kids, is it not worth it

Abuja will fully and happily welcome you. You can stay in any if these areas: Orozo, jukwoyi, Karu. They are safe, with something close to stable electricity. Among these places, there are estates too, much more safer. You will be alright.

Thanks. From Google maps though, these places seem very far from town. I wonder if one will truly feel like he's living in Abuja

Family / Family Intending To Move To Abuja Needs Advice by frank33(m): 7:58am On Apr 26, 2023
Hi guys. I really need some advice on this please.

We are a family of 6 and I want to relocate my family from Onitsha to Abuja in order to hopefully have a better life and expose to kids to more.

But I am bothered by the uncertainty of this move.

Is this this good idea?

If you live or have lived in Abuja can you please advice me on where we can live and afford an average life in Abuja in terms of accommodation, feeding and transport.

Also what kind of business can one start up in Abuja as a newcomer with about 10m to survive.
