Speedyconnect15: I a person dies and he left a will, the executors named in the WILL should get "probate".
But if a person dies without a will then people like the ff are entitled to letters of administration.
Surviving spouse(s) of the deceased
Children of the deceased
Parents of the deceased
Brothers or sisters of the deceased of full blood or the children of such brother or sister who died in the life time of the deceased.
Brother or sister of the deceased of half-blood or the children of such brother or sister who died in the life time of the deceased
Grandparents of the deceased
Uncles and aunts of full blood or their children
Creditors of the deceased
Admin general Many thanks bro, Hope you will agree with me that this covers a great range of people who are suitable and eligible by law to access a deceased LA. This therefore underlines my earlier submission that being a next of kin isn't enough as a very category of persons (who in most cases would never be eligible to be next of kin) can after all gain access to deceased liquid assets. |

nwanyionitsha: Yes, that of bank accounts is true, but what about estates, terminal benefits and others can the letter of admin cover that even when there is a next of kin? It may not cover for the physical and fixed assets. The LA covers mainly the liquid assets. A will should be advised to handle such other fixed and tangible assets. |
Family › Re: 3 Costly Mistakes Couples Make After Marriage by FrankFrenzy(m): 10:19pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
Speedyconnect15: Yes next of kin doesn't make one entitled to the wealth left behind.
But it's a lie that anybody can be granted letters of administration.
So a friend can go and get it and will now have access?
Anybody can't be given letters of administration.
The law regulates those entitled to it.
So tell me, who are those empowered by the law to request for and get LA from the registry? |
Family › Re: 3 Costly Mistakes Couples Make After Marriage by FrankFrenzy(m): 11:51am On Feb 01, 2019 |
Being next of kin to a bank account holder doesn't make you in any way an heir or the sole heir of the proceeds or funds in a deceased account. That's one mistake we always make, you can be the next of kin to deceased whereas I went ahead to get the letter of administration and death certificate of the deceased. In that case I become automatically the heir and will have unfettered access to all his bank accounts irrespective of me being next of kin or not. |

handie: The undisputable fact is, a whole lot of monies accrued to the PDP led Federal Government between 1999 and 2015..... If such monies were made available to Muhammadu Buhari, then he would have done way better than this...... But in PDP's case, the country ain't really got nothing to show for all these huge monies they got Monies like the 50 Naira stamp duty that all Nigerians making cash deposit in excess of 1000 Naira are being forced to pay. Do you know how much money the present FG makes daily from surcharging the citizens #50 for every single deposit in excess of #1000 daily. Recently FG stopped bearing charges for all Remita transactions which hitherto was borne by FG. Now the Nigerians are forced to bear charges for any payment made to TSA via Remita platform. #WehdoneSir |

MotorGuru: The car comes with its own issues ( like any other car on the road). Ensure the ball joints are in good shape, ensure you use only genuine Honda fluids for the gearbox and power steering , and you are good to go.
If you are purchasing naija used, you need to be very careful. Buying an abused one can wreck one financially. Perform a very comprehensive check and inspection before purchase. Many thanks boss |

MotorGuru: Very. OK so you will advise me to get a Nigerian used. I have been so plagued with a lot negative reviews and feedbacks. But from what I have seen you tell others here, strictly using Honda gear oil is key to a seamless transmission system. Thank you much and please be generous enough as you've always been to tell any other thing I should know about the car. I'm on the verge of selling off my Toyota Camry Orobo so as to get the Honda EOD. |

Sports › See the reason Chelsea will overturn their one goal deficit against Spurs by FrankFrenzy(op): 7:28pm On Jan 22, 2019*. Modified: 7:51pm On Jan 22, 2019 |
Chelsea have to overturn a first-leg deficit against Tottenham Hotspur to reach this season’s Carabao Cup final but it is a position from which we have managed to emerge victorious several times in the past.
Going back as far as the 1965/66 season, when we recovered after losing our initial matches against Vienna Sports Club and AC Milan to reach the Fairs Cup semi-finals, the Blues have shown the resilience to come back and turn the tables on our opponents on more than a dozen occasions.
Here is a look at some of our most memorable comeback victories in recent years. and you can let us know which is your favourite in the poll below.
Arsenal – 1997/98 League Cup
With Gianluca Vialli taking charge of the Blues as player-manager for the first time, the Blues recovered from a 2-1 deficit to see off the Gunners in the League Cup semi-finals. Mark Hughes levelled the aggregate score after 10 minutes at Stamford Bridge, before spectacular strikes by Roberto Di Matteo and Dan Petrescu early in the second half put us firmly in charge. Arsenal got a late consolation but Chelsea advanced 4-3 on aggregate before beating Middlesbrough.
Vicenza – 1997/98 Cup Winners’ Cup
Less than two months after the win against Arsenal, the Blues staged another dramatic semi-final comeback against Vicenza in the Cup Winners’ Cup. Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, our task was made harder when the Italian side extended their lead after 32 minutes at the Bridge. However, Gustavo Poyet pulled one back three minutes later and Gianfranco Zola headed home early in the second half, setting the stage for Mark Hughes to smash in the winner 14 minutes from time.
Barcelona – 2004/05 Champions League
Trailing 2-1 after the first leg of our Champions League round of 16 clash, Chelsea struck three times in the first 19 minutes at Stamford Bridge through Eidur Gudjohnsen, Frank Lampard and Damien Duff to take a 4-2 aggregate lead. However, a Ronaldinho brace levelled things up before half-time and Barca looked to be going through to the quarter-finals on away goals until John Terry soared above the Catalan defence to nod in the winner in the 76th minute.
Napoli - 2011/12 Champions League
The Blues appeared down and out after losing 3-1 in the first leg of our last 16 encounter in Italy. However, Roberto Di Matteo’s side battled back in London with Didier Drogba and John Terry levelling things up, before Frank Lampard sent the game to extra-time after Gokhan Inler had put Napoli back in front. Drogba then turned provider for the winner, crossing for Branislav Ivanovic to grab the extra-time winner as we marched on to win the Champions League for the first time.
Steaua Bucharest - 2012/13 Europa League
A year to the day after the famous win against Napoli, the Blues faced another daunting test in the last 16 of the Europa League against Steaua Bucharest after a 1-0 loss in the first leg in Romania. Juan Mata levelled at the Bridge but Steaua scored again just before half-time to leave us needing two more goals to advance. However, John Terry headed home just before the hour and then Fernando Torres struck 19 minutes from time to seal our passage to the quarter-finals.
Paris Saint-Germain – 2013/14 Champions League
Down 3-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals, Chelsea staged another great comeback on our home ground to overcome the French champions. Andre Schurrle narrowed the deficit in the first half, however efforts from the German and Oscar came back off the woodwork as PSG clung on to their slender advantage. However, our intense pressure finally paid off when Demba Ba turned the ball in two minutes from time to send us into the last four on away goals.
So the question is, can there be another comeback this time, Does Mauricio Sarri have all its takes to lead his boy to yet another successful Chelsea comeback. No answer will be more correct than that we will get after 90 minutes on Thursday dinner time. |

kenechi072: I would have recommended Diamond, if not for the current situation of things. Diamond bank was a very good & customer friendly bank. I honestly trusted them so much with my money and you can withdraw to the last kobo, which I know students like. Also receiving money from abroad is very easy through Diamond and their online and cards transactions are bae. I am still very saddened they failed. I will close my account there, I don want the access bank thing.
Whatever you do, stay away from Eco & Sterling bank. Thank me later. You can checkout Zenith
I am sha thinking of opening a account with stanbic IBTC, though I have other banks i'm using. I'm also thinking of doing same. Have heard some very nice stuffs about them and their atm availability is second to none. |
