Medical related programs have longer processing times and often comes with funding. You should get a decision communicated in April/May. I would also advice you apply to other schools so as to spread your options for admission.

Good evening, gurus in the house.

I have gotten my letter of admission from the University of Windsor for a Masters program. My sponsors are my parents, and there is enough funds for the academic year. I also have all required documents.

My question is, 'Do I have to wait till I pay my tuition before applying for student visa, or should I apply immediately (even as I have not yet paid my tuition)? The window for tuition payment opens in April at The University of Windsor for Fall 2021 semester, and I don't know if I should wait after payment of the first semester tuition before applying for student visa.
You don't have to wait prior to applying for your visa. Since the window for tuition payment opens in April, you can apply for your study permit and once payment has been made, you can send a copy of the tuition receipt to IRCC via webform.

Good Afternoon Everyone.

I've got a friend traveling to MUN this evening. He doesn't have his enrollment letter yet, and his friend traveling today too was sent back this morning because he couldn't provide it.

How can he get the enrollment letter?

I await your responses.

Please Treat as Urgent
He should login to his MUN student self-service portal to obtain this letter or better still contact the international student services for a copy of his enrollment letter.

We can't work on assumptions, he said he is self sponsored which means the money is his, sending the money anywhere is his sole discretion as far he can explain his intentions, people remove their money and put it back, he could put it back in batches but hoping for them to continue with the regular processing might flag that he is not genuine, they could request for an updated statement of account later, what I am merely suggesting is that he should be proactive, send the money in and write IELTS and go through the NSE route or explain why you won't be able to send it than just disregarding it, he just needs to pray and makes his final decision.
From the wisdom of my vast experiences, I do not believe that failure to acknowledge the NSE request, the visa officer will flag such application as not genuine. If you have to know, there are several applicants who opted out from the NSE program yet got approved. I don't believe its wise for him to start depositing money into his account, when he has already transfered the bulk money into his parents account immediately after the submission of his application. I also don't think that there is any immigration consulate of any country that is as sharp-witted as the Canadian visa officer's. These officers are trained to capture any abnormalities in people's applications. They can quickly spot that the op account has been left untouched since then till date which is a complete turndown in his application. The best advice I can give to him is either to advise them in writing as to why he can't provide the requested documents or allow his application be processed through the regular channel. There exists no penalty for not responding to the NSE request.

I just got an admission to Trent University for a masters degree for Fall 2021. I applied to Ryerson university but I’m yet to get an admission decision. Being that Ryerson university is more ranked than Trent, should I wait for Ryerson? Or I should proceed with Trent.

I have previously begun document gathering for Visa Application.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush... Personally, I will recommend you proceed with the Trent University for your visa application. Hopefully when you secure your visa and you choose not to continue with the Trent, you may seek for a refund of your tuition and transfer to Ryerson University.

Hello totee, the Visa officer wants to see that you have access to the funds that you are presenting, nobody expects you to leave your money dormant in the account when u have investment opportunities you can pursue, so if you have transferred the money out, transfer the money back and just write a brief letter of explanation, nobody can tell anybody where he or she money to be at a particular time, the most important thing is accessibility to the money,, a letter of explanation and the money in the account should do you better than not responding, my opinion
Are you serious with this suggestion? He should transfer the money back and explain what to the immigration? Its very obvious the money was borrowed from his parents and depositing it back into his account is totally a red flag. Canadian immigration officer's are very smart and can quickly grasp any irregularities. I will agree that no one expects you to hoard your money when there are financial opportunities to pursue. However, this is not applicable to the op current financial status.

Review of additional documents showing not applicable, mean while I didn't submit NSE documents as requested by IRCC since November 2020. Gurus Pls what does "not applicable" mean?
"Not Applicable" implies that the immigration officer do not require further information/documents at this time. Your application is currently being processed and in queue for final review.

Hello everyone, I have been asked by IRCC to submit mybankstatement and IELTS so they can process my application through the NSE route. However, the funds I used for my proof of funds have been transferred back to my parents' account (I was self-sponsored) through my other account. So my question is that should I transfer the money back to my account. Does this affect my application or should I just move on from it and allow them to process my application normally. And I would also like to know if anyone has gotten approval here without going through with the NSE as requested and how long did it take?
I would advice you allow your application be considered through the regular channel. This is because transferring the money you borrowed from your parents back to your account will be perceived by the visa officer that you don't have the financial resources to cover for your planned studies in Canada without working to pay for your tuition and living expenses. Moreover, its also seen that you're trying to cheat the immigration system of Canada, thereby leading to refusal.

Good morning everyone. Submitted my application Jan 31st, just got my NSE request. They only asked for my bank statement since I already submitted my ielts. My question is, my funds are in stanbic mutual funds investment and they do not have mybankstatement for it. Pls how do I go about this? Plus the request letter stated a link where i can obtain mybankstatement. I'm a little bit confused. Please if you have used mutual funds or fixed deposits, how did u got about submitting this as NSE
Given that the entire funds for your study visa application are presently being held in Stanbic Mutual Funds investment, you have to advice the immigration officer in writing that there is no available mybank statement certificate platform for customers with investments at Stanbic IBTC bank. Consequently, provide the mutual funds certificate and a cover letter from the bank confirming that funds are readily accessible by you and unencumbered by debts or other obligations.

We haven’t heard back from them either.

Pls when did you apply? And how many weeks before they got back to you
MUN will request every documents be verified and sent by the issuing body.

The WAEC confirmation of result has to be couriered by the WAEC office at Yaba. Whilst, the IELTS will be sent by IELTS coordinator (office) from Nigeria to Canada. You need a minimum of 6.0 band to qualify for admission at MUN for an undergraduate degree. In all of this processes, you will pay for the processing fees for this organizations to send your documents to Canada as well as the courier fees will be incurred by you.

Hope you can see the stress and money that will be spent for common undergraduate admission at MUN which is also not certain that you will be admitted in the end.

Thanks Baphil, school resumption date is May 2022.

I will be 41 this year, will it be advisable to use sponsor or present myself as sponsoring myself.

I have two children, mother, brothers and sisters with a building owned by me. Plan is to use my children, siblings and property as home ties.

I currently work, 16 years experience practicing what I studied in school here in Nigeria and about going for same course but higher degree.

Please what are my chances?
Any age above 33 is termed a matured applicant. Given that you're 41 this year, the feasible way to prove that you're well established in Nigeria and that your proposed course of study in Canada is at a reasonable expense. You're in a more advantageous position of being Self-sponsored. Having someone else to finance your studies abroad will give the visa officer the audacity to question your financial establishment thus leading to visa rejection.

Having critically examined your profile, I would suggest you apply alone, whilst your spouse and kids be your home ties in your application.

A Master's degree is the way forward to demonstrate career progression. This program should be in correlation with your current job role considering the 16 years working experience.

I hope this information satisfies your inquiry.

Hello People, I applied for a master's in 3 Canadian universities now and currently waiting for their favorable considerations of my applications but I'm disturbed if my current age could be a barrier. I'm 42 going to 43 now and not sure if I could scale this visa people hurdle. please, from the experience gathered so far, could anyone throw more light as regard age in this race. thank you.
Age has got nothing to do with your study visa application. Once you can account for your study gaps with rational explanation and encyclopedia documents/evidence, the visa officer will have no concerns on your ability to study but to approve your application. Most importantly, you also need to declare substantial amount in your bank statements and proof of adequate economic ties to Nigeria that would motivate your departure from Canada after studies.

Good day all. I hope this meets you well.

I have been an ardent follower of this priceless thread for years. So I decided to give it a go as Australia is doing pin pon with their border reopeneing. Please spare me sometime to go through the documents and information in my possession already and advise me in any way you can.

Degree: BSc Physics and Astronomy (2013)

CGPA: 4.06/5.00

IELTS: 7.5 Overall

Work Experience: Insurance Company(2016-2018)
Bancassurance(With a top leading
bank 2018 till date)
Please note that I worked at an Environmental consulting firm from 2014-2016. Though I don't have the employment letter with me as I lost it a long time ago.

Travel History: Singapore 2019( For the Company's annual business conference.

Sponsor: A long standing close family friend who was my late dad's apprentice. History of him taking care of the family after my father died can be found in my bank statement as old as year 2015 as he has been making constant huge and small cash deposits in my bank account.
He owns a registered company and has up to 20-25 million in his bank statement together with various registered landed properties.
He recently made cash deposits of 10mill(3,3,4) in my account using his name for my tuition fee and is going to make an electronic transfer of 10mill using his company's name, for my living expenses.

My personal savings: I have a total of about 5 million in my other personal account.

Family ties: I am the first of the three children my late father left my widowed mother with. I am the one paying their school fees, rent and other house expenses.
Also, I have a fiance who I will legally marry once my Visa is out.

Now, I am looking at going for MBA at Simon Fraser(2 yrs) or UNB(One yr).

Of course, I intend switching course once I get there.

What are my chances please?

Thank you for your time.

@Frankrobbn1
You've a good profile that would land you a successful application. I would recommend you use University of New Brunswick MBA program. I have noticed high visa approval with this school lately and there is a good prospect of being nominated in the province under its International Graduate Stream even before the completion of your studies.

The sponsor of your abroad studies being a family friend is not strong enough, however, you need more of evidence than mere statement. He could pay your first year tuition at UNB and transfer some funds for your living expenses. Please provide proof of past transfers/deposits from him to your account. This will further explain to the visa officer that this sponsor have been rendering financial support to you prior to this moment. Again, please don't mention in your personal statement to the immigration that you're responsible for paying school fees, rent and other house expenses for your siblings. Mentioning this will dramatically affect your economic establishment in Nigeria. Hence, I would advice you to remain silent about this point. You can explain to the immigration officer that you've a fiancé in Nigeria whom you plan to walk down the aisle immediately after the completion of your studies in Canada. Attach engagement photos, pictures where you both went for a date and had soft kisses and hugs etc.

I hope this information satisfies your enquiry.

Thank you so much for this sir.

I was just about to complain that I was tired of checking my mails daily from IRCC and not hearing anything. I don't know if daily webforms is too much cause I still sent on Tuesday and I am tired of sending but now that you mentioned this, I will send again now.

I just hope I really get a response soon so I know what I am doing. I suspect it is the recommend interview on my gcms that is delaying them or probably the info sharing they are doing but it is taking too long. I am really tired of refreshing mails all the time.
You're putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. Why not exercise a little more patience, and see if there will be any positive light from IRCC. Its true that your application has exceeded the standard processing times, however, always be positive about the process. I already advised you from the wisdom of my experiences on this thread for half a decade that "Recommend Interview" is not a death sentence and doesn't in any way have negative impact on your in progress application. As a matter of fact, the applicants I know with such eligibility assessment on their GCMS notes, have gotten approval, landed and began their studies in Canada. Due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, IRCC do not conduct interviews whether for permanent resident application or work permit.

Take a chill pill for your application is in good condition and will be finalized in no distant time.

Let me know if you require further information.

Your work reference letter should corroborate that you're being paid in Cash in your current place of work. The amount you earn on a monthly basis and per annum. This letter must be duly endorsed by the HR manager of the company. Also, include payment receipt/voucher and salary certificate to support your cash salary payment.
