Allgoodies21: Greetings to the gurus and all well-meaning contributors to this forum.
I made a mistake with my children application and I feel it resulted to the delay in their visa.
I got a study permit to start the winter class and after getting my visa, I applied for my children that they would now travel with me. Although I had just 2 when I submitted my application last year, I have had another baby before my visa approval. So, I applied for all 3.
The reason being that when I applied, there was no covid so I used that as a reason and also added that the children were still young 6yrs, 4yrs and 4 months. Long story short, they requested for their medicals which was updated to pass 3 days after medicals. 5 days later I received their refusals with the reason below:
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the length of your proposed stay in Canada.
Except for my little baby, others have visited the shenghen zone with their visa, UK, Dubai, Kenya, South Africa and presently have 2 years UK visa. Although they have had US visa refusals which was acknowledged.
I went back to the LOE I submitted and noticed that I submitted a wrong LOE. I submitted the one I wrote with my spouse joining the trip. But he vehemently refused because of his new contract and said he would only consider visiting when he is through with his current contract with no date in view. I am wondering if the contradicting LOE with his details and his letter of sponsorship raised the VO’s concern for the refusal. I really want to travel with my kids because he won’t be on ground to care for them. I wanted to send in the application again with the updated LOE and another letter addressing the VO’s concern but someone referred me to Nairaland. Please you all should give your advice. A lot of times submitting files incorrectly unavoidably leads to denial. Its highly advisable that you review your file 3 to 4 times to avoid mistakes that could lead to refusal prior to the application submission. Now, that you've figured out that there was fault in the arrangement of the documents. You can reapply with a persuasive LOE and tackle the concerns raised by the visa officer. By the way, what's the length of your program in Canada?, I can see that the visa officer has expressed concerns about the length of your childrens stay in Canada. Please be advised that Travel History, is not a stand-alone reason, it will be waived if you're able to overcome other refusal reasons. Include more documents in this present application to show your family is well-established, documents like landed properties, investments, valuation report of a building, and a registered business etc must suffice in the application. Explain how these properties would induce your family's return home after studies in Canada. Should you've other questions, don't hesitate to ask them here. It will end in praise |

Glasses08: ABOUT RENEWING PASSPORT Passport was to expire February 2021 and I applied November 2020, was advised to apply with the old one while I try to process the renewal before I get a response from IRCC.
There's also a thread on Nairaland for obtaining international Passport in Nigeria, check there for people's post(don't go and pay money to anybody there o as there are many post saying DM me for fast processing so thread carefully) Got my passport early this year(2021) so I just sent the new data page via webform to IRCC and also included it in my account when they sent request for NSE.
Copied from @JustMellow: There is no worries applying with the soon to expire passport. Prior to submitting your application and before a final decision is made, you should have been able to renew it and update IRCC via CSE so it can be included to your file. This means when the PPR drops, you will only have to send the renewed passport for stamping. It won't be advisable to send a soon to expire passport for stamping as the visa will be issued based on the duration of the PP.
ABOUT NSE REQUIREMENTS Didn't have IELTS, read a post where someone said he submitted letter of waiver from his Uni so I did same and included a little background story and also included the page from my proposed school in Canada's website where they said Nigerians are exempted from submitting proof of English proficiency. Uploaded my bank statement certificate Sponsor isn't based in Nigeria so no MBS, he requested a reference letter from his bank and I attached with 12 months bank statements(there statement isn't voluminous like ours for Naija, 1 page or max or 2 pages was okay for one month). Basically reuploaded everything I uploaded for Financial support before incase they decide to only use NSE documents and I put a note to explain with table of content as well.
MEDICAL EXPERIENCE AT QLIFE Booked online and also made payment online of 40,000. Didn't receive any confirmation mail so I placed a call through to confirm my slot and also sent a mail so it can be documented (auditors always need physical evidence ). I was actually offered another date before 6th of March but it was a weekday and I didn't want to skip work so I declined. (Just incase you don't see any date that's close enough on the site, you can call to confirm just incase someone cancelled and they can fix you in the slot)
Arrived qlife at about 7:45 on the Saturday, already met people seated, I think I was number 15 or thereabout. Washed hands did the normal covid protocols, signed in them was handed a white slip to fill and was asked to sit and wait. Someone came to collect our international passport, the white slip that was given to us and the medical request form (this isn't needed if it's an upfront medical). Figured others that were there earlier had been attended to and they were called in to start the process. Sat under the canopy for about 30 to 45 minutes before they came to call the second set in. At the reception we were asked to fill a form and our photographs were taken, then we were called to confirm our names and date of birth and then handed back our passport,e-medical slip, urine bottle and a form for the doctor and nurses to fill as we were being attended to. Went to see someone else to confirm payment, she asked for payment slip which she sighted and kept and wrote a receipt for me then gave me 3 colored circle tags for Blood, vitals and vision test and xray. We were called in according to the numbers on the tags, the process was quite fast for me though. I think all that took about another 45 minutes to 1 hour and then I finally saw the doctor, he asked some normal health questions and checked for some other things. The nurses and doctor were quite professional, they ensured they explain what they are about to do before they proceed. I liked that cause it prepared my mind for what I was expecting.
Returned the urine bottle and the medical form back to the receptionist and was told that was the end of the process. I think I left there around 10 a.m or thereabout.
ENSURE YOU GO WITH YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT OR A COPY AND DON'T FORGET TO ASK FOR IT BEFORE LEAVING ENEN THOUGH IT SHOULD BE HANDED OVER TO YOU BEFORE THE TEST ENDS. SENT THE E-MEDICAL SHEET TO NAIROBI AND SOME OTHER OFFICES VIA WEBFORM AND MAIL.
I WISH EVERYONE ON THIS JOURNEY GOD'S FAVOUR. IT WILL DEFINITELY END IN PRAISES.

RelaxingEnd: Hello, guys. How do one avoid this issue of "Personal asset and financial status" if one has little money in account, but has sponsor(father) with enough money to show as POF and living expenses? To overcome the visa officer's concern on the refusal reason "Personal Assets and Financial Status", you need to show adequate documents to prove that you're well-established in Nigeria and that your proposed program is a reasonable expense. In so doing, provide your personal bank statement (no matter the amount in the account), evidence of a property in your name or a registered business. If properly explained in the LOE, these documents would clear every grey areas relating to your establishment in your home country, Nigeria It will end in praise |

How am I to show proof of funds when I arrive the port of entry. Do I have to have it in my Nigerian bank account and show my Nigerian bank statement? Please how? And how much is the expected amount? 10000cad?
Cc. Justmellow, Frankrobbn1, lekibobe and other gurus You can show proof of funds by declaring your bank statement, tuition receipts and telling the immigration officer at the POE who is your sponsor. The liquid cash you should travel with you mustn't exceed 10KCAD. If it does exceed this amount, you should provide explanation what you intend to do with it. It will end in praise |

i finished with a 2.1 BSC Accounting.
Should i go ahead and take it and apply for my study Visa?
DEAR ALL, PLEASE I NEED YOUR ADVISE @JUSTMELLOW@FRANKROBBIN AND EVERYONE BIKO Do not accept such offer from MUN. - will I get the student visa even though my undergraduate degree and present work is not related to the masters program I applied for ? - if I get masters admission this March , can I still apply for study permit to start classes in sept 2021? (With covid restrictions will I have to do remote learning )
Thanks You can secure a visa to study in Canada with your proposed program being in tandem with your current employment. Its not compulsory that it must be relevant with your undergraduate degree. In this case, going for a program related to your work experience is termed "Career Progression" Yes, you can start your visa application process this month when you've gotten your acceptance letter. I am really worried cos my funding cannot be deferred more than may since my research is time bound. I have applied for my gcms notes yesterday, and I really don't know if to message them or not. I would advice you email them via this medium - nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca. Also send an enquiry via webform - IRCC WEBFORM - NAIROBIThe content of the mail should state the date you submitted your application referencing your UCI and App No. You should advise the visa officer in writing that your funding letter cannot be deferred till another term. And as such you will appreciate your application be given due consideration/swift processing in order to enable you meet up with the Spring, Semester. You should also provide a copy of your funding letter highlighting in yellow link that your research is time bound. More so, include a reference letter from your supervisor in support of your visa application. At the end of the mail, thank the visa officer for taking their time to review your application and appreciate them for the success gained in your application thus far. Do this on a daily basis, you will see that your file will be attended to in no distant time with a positive result in the end. Futureukstudent: thank you very much for this explanation...what happened was that after getting the refusal letter, we heard that we have a uncle that went from Usa to Canada and had put down my mom's address as his relative contact address. So we thought probably their system picked it up and mayb denied her based on the fact that she didn't mention it on her application that she has a family in Canada. And my uncle immigration lawyer adviced that she should complain to that effect that she didn't know her uncle had moved to Canada at the time of applying for visa so that it won't affect any of her future visa application to Canada (thinking that she lied about not having any relation in Canada) Having an uncle who is resident in Canada does not in anyway have a connection with her refusal based on family ties in Canada. As a matter of fact, in the Canadian immigration context, what they meant by a family member is a close relative e.g Spouse, Kids or parents. In view of the foregoing, she stating in her application that she doesn't have any family member in Canada is absolutely correct and has not misrepresentated according to subsection 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. I don't think its reasonable to state that she didn't know her uncle had moved to Canada at the time of applying for visa because this is far from her previous refusal. She should be more concerned about demonstrating to the visa officer that is well-established in Nigeria and would depart Canada after the authorized period of her stay. I hope this information satisfies your enquiry. It will end in praise |

OctGsam: But if I choice to use a fixed deposit (bond capital, money market etc) do I need to wait for 4-6months before application considering September resumption? When making use of Fixed Deposit certificate, you don't need to wait for too long prior to submitting your application. You can wait for a month to prove that the money truly belongs to you before submitting the Fixed deposit with your application. More so, a reference letter stating that funds are unencumbered by debts or other obligations must suffice. It will end in praise |

Futureukstudent: Hello guys, my sister got a visa denial this week. But that is not the main issue, cos she was not really interested in it anymore(other plans came up) the issue now is that one of the reason given in her denial was that they are not satisfied that she will leave Canada cos of her family tie in Canada and her home country (Nigeria). What do they mean by family tie in Canada because she never said she had any family in canada. Family ties in Canada and in your country of residence Far too many times, prospective international students who were refused with this point wondered why they should have a family in Canada before being given a visa to study in Canada. Please be advised that the full statement is “family in Canada OR family in your home country”. So, its either you failed to prove each criterion or both criteria, that is, whether you have family ties in Canada or whether you have family ties to your home country. This is what you should do : Show sufficient ties to your home country i.e. what will compel you to return home after studies? 1. Do you have a spouse and kids(minors) and are you leaving them behind? 2. Do you have elderly parents who depend on you? 3. Do you own registered businesses/property that you need to continue managing after studies? 4. Do you have adequate funds? 5. Do you have family members whom are not accompanying you to Canada? If you've any of the enumerated points, explain in detail their importance to you and how they would induce your return home after studies. I hope this information satisfies your inquiry. Enjay316: Are you serious about this sir?? Police Character Certificate is not relevant for study visa application. Several applicants on this platform have secured their visas without including one with their application. It will end in praise |

Mummy4life1: @Frankrobbn1: My agent is asking me to do IELTS Exams before I can apply for visa even though admission was given to me recently. Do you no any one that travel with a child and also did IELTS exam?.
Thanks in advance for prompt response
MY AGENT REQUIREMENT: VISA PROCESSING SUMMARY:
Kindly note that IELTS is required for visa processing. It could be the General or Academic module and the minimum band score is 6.0 in every part.
Visa application does not start till admission has been confirmed and the Visa process takes 2 - 4 months and our fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
If you are employing our services for the visa application, please note that we have two visa contract agreements and you will be required to select one.
The first contract has two fees of (300,000 Naira) It covers the visa application fee, documentation,
a. Police Clearance Certificate
b. Comprehensive Medical Clearance*
c. Application fee for study permit
d. Documentation
e. If invited for an interview, pre-interview sessions will be provided.
f. VFS Fee
g. Biometrics Fee I want to believe that your compensated agent is suggesting that you should write the IELTS exam because of the newly implemented program by name "Nigeria Student Express Program" (NSE). Its totally not a bad idea as your application will benefit from faster processing time from the immigration authorities of Canada. Please proceed with the IELTS registration and submit a copy of your certificate with your application. I can't really say much about the professional fees of your agent regarding your visa preparations. However, properly evaluate the services they will be providing during the process and the contract agreements. It will end in praise |

dyce101: Amen sir
Please I withdrew the long processing visitors visa today, I will like to ask the duration? so I can quickly start my study visa
Thanks It takes a long time for IRCC to acknowledge receipt of withdrawal request/mail. This is as a result of the effect of novel pandemic, most visa consulates around the globe are working with shortage or critical staffs to process applications. No one can tell you for sure how long the duration for a withdrawal request would take. It will end in praise |
