Good day guys
Please I need your urgent response please

I started my visa application process since last year August
Have been admitted to a college in canada and have paid part of the school fees So I applied for visa last year December my intention is to apply for study permit but I just observe now that I applied for Temporary resident visa instead of study permit visa.

So have been waiting for the IRCC response since December but I haven't receive their feedback

My question is can my visa be approved even though I didn't applied for study permit visa because I submitted documents for study permit Or do I need to withdraw the application and start afresh?

Please am looking forward to your response
@frankbonn1 please reply sir
Study Permit is also regarded as a temporary resident visa same with work permit and visitor's applications. Given that you had wrongly applied for a visitor's visa instead of a study permit application. I would highly recommend that you request for the withdrawal of your application. IRCC are presently not processing or prioritising visitor's visa and a decison may not be reached on your file due to these factual reasons.

I hope this information satisfies your inquiry.

Again, in signing the family information form, am I to print it and sign, then rescan for upload as I can't seem to be able to write or sign on space for signature.
You don't need to sign any of the immigration forms including the family information form. Fill the necessary information, date, save and upload the form in the required column.

Thank you Mr Frank, I really appreciate your assistance sir.

I also want to know will that be sufficient to present as I still have 2 family members that will accompany my travel, my spouse and mother. They will be dependants
You can apply with your spouse and show adequate proof of funds for your stay in Canada. However, its not logical to apply with your mother at this time. This will give the visa officer the impression that you're using study permit as a means of relocation rather than educational advancement thus leading to rejection.

Hi house ,I am a silent reader .I applied for my study to canada last year August, through an agent though .Got the admission .Did my biometric Jan 31st and up till now i have not heard any thing.
Please house the most confusing part is that I just realize last 2 weeks that my control number on my bo ok metric instruction letter is carrying a V.i mean the control number start with a V instead of S.
I asked from the guy helping me he told me it a student visiting letter .
Please is anything called student visiting letter ?Moresonhouse what is delaying them from calling me to go for my medicals.
I will be happy if I get a reply quickly tnx and God bless us all.
Be proactive by withdrawing your current application. I can tell you for free that your agent had mistakenly applied for a visitor's visa for you instead of a study permit. Please be advised that student visiting letter doesn't not exist in the regulations and manuals of IRCC.

You can seek for the withdrawal of your application through the IRCC WEBFORM - NAIROBI

IRCC are presently processing study permit applications and essential work permit applications. Visitor's applications are not being prioritised at the moment due to the global pandemic. As such, withdrawal is the best option and reapplying for a study permit.

Please I have a question.

I just renewed my passport but I did my police report in February with my old passport, can I still submit that police report in my application?
Police character certificate is not relevant for your study permit application. You may want to exclude it from your supporting documents.

In a situation where my mum went for Postpartum care in Canada, which is regarded as visitor, which address can I use?

In the IMM family form, is asking for current address. So Is it the address where she is currently or her permanent address here that I should put?

Thanks.

Actually, despite having full funding, you'll still need to submit your bank statement (or that of a sponsor, preferably a family member) showing POF for your travel and relocation expenses. The VO will no doubt appreciate the fact that you have funded admission offer, but they still want you to show financial evidence that you can afford to pay for your travel expenses, especially considering that your 40k funding isn't deposited in your account already, or is it? Naah!
The POF the applicant might require will be to cover for other miscellaneous expenses he/she might incur during the of their studies in Canada. The applicant doesn't need to show fat bank statement to demonstrate financial sufficiency given that the program is fully funded by the school/supervisor.

Generally, police character certificate is not a compulsory document for study visa application to Canada. I would suggest you rather not include it with your application.

Hi guys,

Please I need advice. got admission to two schools/program and trying to decide which one has the most likely visa approval chance and future prospect in Canada. Payment deadline is due soon and need to choose quickly. The two programs are PgD Finance in NSCC, and PgD Advanced Business Management in University of Winnipeg. Studied finance for undergrad, currently work in a bank, and want to progress in my career. University vs College? Course?
A PGC in Finance from NSCC is the best course of action to show academic advancement.

Going for PhD with partial funding.
Submitted my application on Jan 15th with my spouse and two kids.
Got NSE request Feb 2nd and responded same day. Review of additional documents started Feb 5th.
Upfront Medical updated for all on Feb 11.
My Spouse's and one of my Kids eligibility review started same day Feb 11. But my eligibility review is yet to start. I haven't heard from IRCC since the last update. A bit confused.

@Frankrobbn1, please help respond to this. Just a bit confused as to how my eligibility hasn't started being the primary applicant and those of my dependents have since started. Thanks
The current update/status of your application shows that the immigration officer is actively working on finalising your spouse and kids application. I have seen a case scenario where the accompanying dependents were the first to be approved before the principal applicant. To all appearances, it reveals that same is about to take place on your application. My professional advice for you is to email IRCC office in Nairobi via email inquiring about the current status of your application and respectfully plea if they require further information/documents from you. This may trigger them to look into your file and expedite processing of your application.

Please can someone explain to me what a gift deed is,how its done and its is possible that a husband can offer it for his wife going for studies?
What is a gift deed?

You don't have enough money for Proof of Funds and you would have a relation or friend post a bulk sum into your account to cover your proof of funds. You then do a gift deed to somehow "legalize" this transaction so that it doesn't raise eyebrows. This is so your application stands in good shape.

Firstly, you should do a gift deed only if you feel comfortable doing it. IRCC has not explicity required that applicants do a gift deed. It's not present on their website. However, there is evidence to believe some have done gift deeds and successfully obtained their study permit/PR. My guess is that the Visa Officers evaluated each application on its own merit. Therefore, how you package your gift deed in your overall application is more likely to have an effect on how successfully it is evaluated. As far as I can tell, the gift deed idea evolved from the canadavisa site into Nairaland. Nairalanders embraced it and some have used it successfully.

How does a gift deed work?
A friend, family member, etc, sends a bulk amount into your account before you obtain your statement of account. Then you have to draft some sort of "explanation" attributable to this person which effectively assures the VO that the money has been gifted to you for valid reasons.

Can anyone provide you a gift deed or just family members?

https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/261#53487248

Finally, it is unlikely you will find any 100% conviction from anyone to use a gift deed. So, don't start asking the question to death. Use it after you have assessed all these collated opinions above and you become convinced yourself.

Are there alternatives? Yes! You can get the money and put it into some fixed deposit investment, then present the FD. Similarly, you can use it for treasury bills or mutual funds, etc. In summary, there are options. The decision lies with you.

Good luck.

Hello,

My friend is going for an undergraduate degree in Canada. Her parents are her sponsors but she wants to pay her tuition before her application and since her older brother is abroad (USA), it's easier for him to pay the tuition from there.

Will this be a concern for the visa officer as the payment of tution will not reflect in her sponsor's bank statement?

It doesn't matter where and how the tuition payment was carried out. The sponsor (parents) of the applicant should clearly state in the sponsorship letter that he/she was responsible for the first year tuition payment to demonstrate his/her financial commitment towards sponsoring her education in Canada. This is sufficient and in no way affect the credence of her application. Furthermore, include a copy of the tuition receipt to support this information.

You've to provide a letter of explanation detailing why you're unable to provide the IELTS result. A rational reason must suffice to proof your inability to prepare for the IELTS exam. Even though you decide to ignore the NSE request, you still have to advice in writing your reasons for non-compliance to the NSE program.

But as for my bank statement showing gift deed hope there will be no issues
There will be no issues with your bank account statement showing a gift deed from your parents. Its 100% legal for parents or close relatives to provide a gift deed in form of immovable assets or cash for any visa application to Canada. The visa officer are fully educated and aware of this, and such doesn't raise any concerns. My professional advice remains that your sponsor should be your parents not a third party for an undergraduate degree in Canada.

Do I need to show proof of funds for the NSE route again seeing there is full funding of about 40k, I intend to apply for two family members as well.

Secondly I need the link directly to the NSE, I have checked and checked still didn't get through.
You don't need to show proof of funds for the NSE route if you're on a fully funded scholarship scheme. Provide a letter from your supervisor and the scholarship grant letter from the University which corroborates that you've a scholarship.

There is no direct link for the NSE program on the IRCC website. You will be prompted to provide the NSE documents after the submission of your application.

Your uncle (third party) being the main sponsor to your study permit application will drastically reduce your chances of getting approval. This is because it is almost impossible for a third party (uncle) to incur such huge cost for an undergraduate degree that is way cheaper in Nigeria. I will prefer you use your parents as your primary sponsorship than an Uncle who is overwhelmed with lots of responsibilities that include family, business and personal welfare.

In view of the foregoing, you're required to provide a 4 months bank statement while your parents provide a month bank statement to show that the funds were originally transferred from their account. The notarised gift deed is the legal document to prove the provenance of the transaction.
