That's so not true. Have been operating my money market account with them since last year and Axa has never done same day subscription for me. Even when I subscribe as early as 8am that day. I have tried with the app and bank transfer with my name and account id and it's always the same Story.

For me Stanbic still remains the best, same day subscription and redemption.

FBNQuest Capital is terrible. Subscription takes a minimum of 48hours, that's if u are lucky a enough to do it on a weekday and not too close to the weekend (Friday), in that case it takes more than three days. Redemption is even worse, sometimes u have to follow up with emails and calls. It's borderline terrible.

Hi. Please can I pm you? I need some guidance about MMF

Good for you to appreciate where you are coming from in terms of paucity of funds and even better that you do not want to return to that state; trust me, I know what you are talking about and i will give you some suggestions or advice to hold on to.

1. Always remember that it is possible to go back to that state of lack of fund you grew up and use this thought as a motivation never to return to such.

2. PAY YOURSELF FIRST: I don't know how much you earn per month/week but whatever it is; pay yourself first. If you earn 100k /month, before anything, remove 50% and save in an investment account (start with this option: STANBIC Money market can help you here) and build up capital there for future business/investment. Now you might ask yourself can 50% of my money take me till the end of the month? my answer to that is "you never had that money before and you survived till now", trust me it will take you. This money is yours for growth alone. When I was growing like you i was saving 90% of my income until i became very comfortable. I still do ~70% till date and I earn big. I can boldly tell you I own couple of companies now in Lagos and still have over 100M cash in account for someone that started with #0 just about 10years ago.

3. Separate emotions from reality and opinions from fact; this is what people around you will use to get money from you. They will say things like if you do not help them they will die. It is a lie!!!. If you are not alive will they die? Learn to separate reality from peoples opinion or emotions especially about your money.

4. Give yourself financial yearly target and try to hit it through savings/investment/business, e.g tell yourself you want 10M in your account by end of the year and do everything to achieve it; you will be amazed how much you will get. Extend this target to your businesses and everything financial around you.

5. Get a financial mentor; someone you want to be like and try to learn from him/her. You may not have one close to you so just get someone you can get books on and read about how the person made his money and try to replicate it.

6. Start reading books on financial and money matters and how to grow them. it will really help you. start with "The Richest Man in Babylon", try and read it more than once. Then start practicing what is inside you will be amazed.

7. Never try to run a business by proxy; not at this stage, you will loose the money. Do businesses that you can be part of. As you grow you will know when to run by proxy. So if any family member tells you to give him/her money to run a business and you will get returns, do not do that.

8. Always go to financial seminars/workshop or just watch them on youtube if they are expensive for you. The idea here is to stay close to people who want same thing as you and work for it like you do. If you have to change friends to do this, never blink an eye.

I hope with this God willing you should never go back to where you came from. Enjoy the financial growth journey my friend.

I absolutely love your advice!

Can we be friends? grin

You have to be very disciplined while doing this .
First of all have a monthly budget for expenses and savings... Save atleast 15% of your earnings every month and 5% emergency savings for unforeseen circumstances.
Secondly look for investments that you can pay monthly premiums (5k and above ) which will yeild you income when the duration expires in the case of Savings Plan and Investment plans or you could open a Mutual fund account with SIBTC, ARM investments etc. That way you can have money when you are old (50yrs and more) similar to a conventional Pension Plan.

Do you know that investing 500k (one time payment) now with a Investment Company will yeild up to #1.5m (based on todays interest rate) in the next 10yrs.

How?
Family / Re: How Do I Save For The Future So As Not To Learn The Hard Way? by Franky826: 11:12pm On Oct 21, 2019
BrinaLanbros:
To help you save for the future. Take two passport photographs and a valid means of ID (that has your current address on it - optional though) and proceed to any branch of Stanbic IBTC Bank. Tell them you want to invest in Stanbic IBTC Money Market Fund and they will give you a form to fill. Fill it in details and make sure your email address is well captured (that will be your major means of communication with them).

They will take the form and other documents (passport and valid ID) and proceed to generate an E-account number for you. It will be communicated to you via mail. Transfer to the bank account details they advised you (check your form, it's there, I think page 3 or 4) using your E-account number as your narration (no addition no subtraction). If your transfer was done before noon, you will receive value in your mutual fund's account that day, otherwise, the next day.

Your login details will be sent to you via mail. Lookout for the mail and proceed to change the login password/passcode to your preferred one. Anytime you have any spare money, follow the same transfer process and top up your investment (invest more) by transferring the money to that same Stanbic IBTC money market fund account details on the form (save it as a contact to make it handy to you) using your E-account number only as your narration. Always sit back and watch your investment grow.

Remember to come back and thank me later

This caught my attention. Can I pm you?

You returned it or you get to keep the phone after winning dispute?

AliExpress actually stepped in and gave the judgement so I Kept the phone too. They wanted me to return it for a full refund or a lesser amount to keep the phone. But it's a win for me cos it's only about 20usd off the original price I bought it.

Good evening xiaomi family and every one that is making meaningful contributions and helping people solve problems in this thread. You guys the real mvp!

Please I got a small challenge and I'd appreciate any help I can get. I got a brand new mi a2 from Ali. The phone is not booting properly,as in the very first time I tried powering the phone after charging. It's still stuck on the Android logo then it restarts booting again and this cycle continues. Since 21st August I got the phone
for my brother I've not been able to use it. I haven't passed through the process of opening dispute before or how long itd take to solve. The seller was saying it's a fork from two separate updates that were pushed.

Please anyone who can help me solve this problem I will really appreciate it.

My brother's birthday was 27th August and it ruined it for him.

I need help. Anyone please!

Thanks to everyone. Solved this. Opened a dispute as suggested and got a refund.

So this x6 does it support airtel, Etisalat and glo 4G ?.. Cos those are the network I use mostly

Those are 4G bands available in Nigeria network providers from my simple Google search. You can use it to check the device you're trying to buy and see if they're available before making a purchase.

Guys I'm thinking of getting Nokia 6.1 plus from aliexpress, but from what I've read online about faults after pie update are much and I'm scared of getting the phone. Different faults ranging from charging problem to display problem etc.

Please I need a sincere answer from someone that's using the phone do you think I should go for it?

I may be wrong but I doubt if there is Nokia 6.1 on AliExpress. What's on Ali is the x6. Basically same phone with lesser 4G bands on the x6 than 6.1.

6.1 is the global version and cost much more than the x6 which is the china version.

But I guess what retailers do is when you buy the x6 they install the global Rom for you but still with the lesser 4G bands from hardware.

Normally 90 days but you can resell at a discount.

Interest rate or yield is as dictated by CBN on behalf of government.

Charges depends on the bank or broker you're using. You can't buy directly from CBN if you have less than 50 million naira.

Thank you so much.

Mind if I send you a direct message?

Depends on your risk appetite I would advise as follows

1. If you wish to access the funds after a short period, go for money market fund else go for TBills or Government Bonds

2. If the money is just an excess that you don't mind stashing away for long, go for TBills and Government Bonds

For no reason should you invest in Fixed Deposits, shares, crypto or bitcoins or whatever names they call it outside those I listed in 1 and 2

If you want to be adventurous, invest in Farmcrowdy or ThriveAgric to get good return on investments but beware of natural disaster though.

On TB what's the minimum duration, (pardon my terms) the interest rates, taxes and charges rate (if that exists) on any investment?

Sorry I'm learning

Op if you are single, that money is enough for proof of funds for Canada Express entry. Read through the Canada Express entry thread, you just need at least a year of experience in relevant occupation, language test(IELTS) and education to be qualified. Read through the thread and try to understand what I am telling you. You can do it yourself, you don’t need agent and the 4m still belongs to you, you just need to show the Canadian government you can take care of yourself before getting a job before they can issue you a permanent resident visa.

Yes, and many saw him but this is just another tricky plan and we almost fell for it. He knows going to the police would mean taking the case to court which could take forever like the previous people he duped in the past as people would get tired, frustrated and move on with their lives! so we ain't buying the police thing, reason we want to file a petition fast to EFCC.

Very smart move. I pray EFCC isn't compromised too. Cos people like this have very long legs.

Wow! Read this story from 1st page to last and I'm trying to catch a breath on how these men are able to perpetuate such crimes!

From my deductions these people are well connected with the forces that be I swear! Be it police, efcc, local chief's, and what not. Because if it's not juju what other covering will give these people such guts and confidence to defraud as much as 200 people within a very short time like this? It's simply bewildering!.

Well I'm sorry to all the victims involved I pray y'all get your money back and justice.

My lesson and advice even to self henceforth will be:

1. Before paying rent for any property ask those who are residing there already how they paid and identify from them the real owner of the house before payment is made.

2. Also before paying make sure the keys are handed over to you and that you have another key there and then to change the pre-existing ones. Even come with a carpenter if necessary!

3. Keep secret video recorders on your phone. The ones that uses front camera to record. There are many of them on playstore! At least I've caught some dumb-smart peeps with them before!

This our country na horror!

I would have gone to Canada long ago if not for that. I felt the money to be wasted on the processing of the Canadian PR to go get unskilled jobs could be better channelled to my business projects in Nigeria.
