What's wrong with the shoes?

Just in case you don't know, that's a winter boot she's putting on, am assuming the pics were taking in Europe where Enyeama plays his football. You don't expect her to put on open shoes in such climate, do you?

Politics / Re: Saharareporters: Gov Poll Results: (APGA) Wins In 16 Lgas by Frazy(f): 5:43am On Nov 18, 2013
Validated:

The structures are there. Ngige won the senate when ACN was thought to be a neutral party (in fact seen to have supported GEJ's election), not abusive to the president and the easterners as is seen after APC was formed. Now on merging with CPC to form APC, that love changed due to the characteristic attitude of APC leadership to the SE & SS. Preferring to refer to SS & SE as irrelevant and of less important. Worse still the Fashola action or deportation. I was so disappointed at Fashola's supposed apologies, preferring to insinuate that it was meant to satisfy those who are politicizing the matter. Truth be told, in Nigeria today, APC CANNOT win in the SE & SS, that is why I pity Rochas and Amaechi. Just same way it is impossible for APGA to win in SW (even if you present a Fashola as APGA candidate in Lagos).
mark my word, as soon as Oshomole leaves, APC would be sacked in Edo State. APC is seem as a party formed to stop GEJ and enthrone a Northern agenda. It is up to you to accept or reject it, but time will tell!

Well said.

It’s not what a team does ahead of a tournament. It’s what they actually do when they get there.

Let's hope our dear Eagles perform on the big stage ( the World Cup).

Ihejirika must be doing something right i guess, if not i don't see any reason northern senators are holding meeting for this.

Northern senators meet over lopsided Army postings
Written by Taiwo Adisa- Abuja
Monday, February 4, 2013

FOLLOWING recent uproar over alleged lopsided postings in the Nigerian Army, members of the Northern Senators Forum met at the weekend, to X-ray perceived marginalisation of the North in the army.

Sources in Abuja confirmed that leaders of the forum circulated a paper, which contained a table of alleged postings in the military in recent times.

A source said the document was compiled to show the perceived favour to the Igbo tribe in the postings and the alleged breach of the Federal Character principle.

It was gathered that the forum had resolved to launch official protests in relation to the perceived lopsidedness in the postings.

According to sources in the polity, the document being circulated among the northern senators portrayed ethnic imbalance and further indicated that Igbos in the army were being made to occupy choice postings and commanding positions.

“We have resolved to launch protests against this imbalance and ensure that the right thing is done,” a source said, adding that in a federation, every arm of government and agency must be ready to play by the rules.

But a group, Information for Democracy and Development (IDD), led by its national coordinatior, Mr Joshua Yahaya, said allegations being bandied against the person of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Azubuike Ihejirika, was needless distraction aimed at plunging the military into the realm of politics.

According to the group, the allegations were being orchestrated by some disgruntled elements who, it said, “are not comfortable with the level of re-engineering in the army by General Ihejirika.” adding that the distraction was aimed to further mislead the public about the happenings in the army.

The group said it suspected that those distorting issues about happenings in the army could be fifth columnists who were opposed to peace in the land.

“They may, as well, be people who have twisted the fact to mislead members of the public and distract government in the fight against terrorism.

Allegations of nepotism against Ihejirika, coming at this time, are, indeed, diabolic and a calculated attempt to distract the army leadership from its laudable counter-terrorism campaigns, which have already started bearing fruits.

“Apart from the principles of quota and federal character, we believe that the army, being a professional body, must insist on certain minimum qualification,” the group said.

Also, a story published by 247U Reports, an online publication, defended Ihejirika against allegations of favouritism in the army postings.

The online channel, in its report on Sunday, said “it has come to our notice that there is a campaign by some unscrupulous and unpatriotic elements, whose intentions appear to be bent on destabilising the Nigerian military and nation at large.

“This campaign is being propagated in the form of a spurious article being circulated, alleging that the Ihejirika is on some sinister and clandestine operations to Igbonise the Nigerian Army.

“The COAS has been accused of selectively promoting only Igbos at the expense of others. Well, nothing can be further from the truth, and this will be demonstrated in a very clear and dispassionate analysis in rebuttal to the openly biased and ethnically tinged attempt by some disgruntled elements.

“What this hatchet job of an article has done is to selectively focus on the promotion of four officers, and then proceed to make bold claims that these promotions were ethnically motivated because the said officers were of Igbo origin, and then conjure up a justification of why their promotions were ethnically motivated by employing a lot of hyperbole and incredulous reach in drawing conclusions from far-fetched inferences.

“The elements behind this very dishonest article have done this while ignoring the holistic picture of all promotions within the different cadres of the army.

“They focused on the promotions of Brigadiers Ugwu of the Ordinance Corps, Nwaogbo of the Armored Corps, Agha Okoro of the Supply and Transport Corps and Chioba of the Corp of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers only. How can this be a complete picture when 43 Brigadiers were promoted as Major Generals in 2011 and 22 promoted in 2012?”

All you bigots get up and smell the coffee this is 2013 for Christ sake. embarassed

If Nigeria can deliver the trophy with all the 11 players on the field being Igbo's, i don't give a hoot.

Another thing I don't get is that this tribal ish did not just start today, why is now that people are finding their voice? I don't get it what is going on? Can someone give me an answer pls? undecided

Sheesh! I get easily irritated by tribal stuff as my childhood and years in school afforded me an opportunity to mix and make friends with people from different tribes. I still cherish my friends from all parts of the country and have inlaws from other tribes too. Its difficult for me to understand why we need to generate so much hatred and bitterness against each other on this forum that is viewed by non Nigerians.

Maybe the much talked about 3rd world war is just around the corner.

The scenario will play out like this >>>>

scenario 1 - Israel bombed the supposedly Syrian chemical weapons installation or whatever it is .

Scenario 2 - Iran and Syria lauches a long range missile hitting Tel-aviv.

scenario 3 - iran orders it's proxy Hizbollah to lauch long rang rocket into northern Israel

Scenario 4 - Israel retaliates by hitting the much talked about Iran nuclear facilities with long range missiles, cuz Turkey couldn't allow it's airspace to be used by israeli fighter jet.

Scenario 5- The US enters the scene to back their tradition ally Isreal.

Scenario 6- Russia enters the war by claiming they stand as side and watch Americans and Israel bombed it's ally Iran.

Final scenario the 3rd World war begins. shocked shocked shocked the annihilations of mankind!!!

Nah, these people just used to get on my nerves and I had to fight back...

They cursed my parents and my lineage, and that's unacceptable...

I'm from a place where you have to defend yourself at all times and that's what I do most of the time... However, some of them are my doozies now(Mr. globe, Afam, Manny4life etc..) and we're cool now...

I'm trying to inspire a revolution in Nigeria, via this forum, and I'm on course to achieving that...

But how can you inspire a revolution by being bigoted? You should be open, flexible and harmonious. You should see every other tribe as one, you shouldn't discriminate against any tribe. By so doing, everyone 'll join your revolution.

Its really an awful experience coming to Nl these days. Every thread you go to, especially on the politics section, it's free for all tribal bashing, mudslinging and name calling.

We need to stop this tribalism. it not helping anyone, whether Yoruba or Igbo.

Ok, my opinion is that Nigerians should stop being Ethnocentric and bigoted. We can look above the ethnic differences and unite.
Let the time we spend here be channelled into how we can change Nigeria.
