emmysenior: Continuity in government's what's killing almost mega projects in Nigeria.
They wouldn't want generations to sing praise of a certain governor, cos they know that if they complete the remaining phases of the projects, most of the kudos will go to the initiators.
You appear to be the most intelligent here. Exactly what I was aiming to type. These people wont reason if Tinapa would be in its present state if Donald Duke was still in power. How many efforts has the present governor made in sustaining tinapa, why is the calabar festival still going stronger if not for the present govts support . Why did wave making Enyimba die after the governor left. I think its high time governors started passing their illustrious projects through their legislature in a way the continuity of the projects must be law

Nairaland has gone to the gutters. Op, I too want to join APC but still undecided as to the faction to join. Tinubu's Faction or Buhari's. I don't want to join Tinubu's camp and still end up in Jail with Tinubu for corruption if Buhari wins presidential election in the unforeseeable future

Politics › ‘APGA May Not Field Candidate For Anambra poll by FreeGlobe(op): 5:31pm On Sep 03, 2013
The All Progressive Grand Alliance may not
participate in the forthcoming governorship
election in Anambra State despite the
emergence of Dr. Willy Obianor as the party’s
candidate, a chieftain of the party has warned.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Bernerd
Akoma ,in a statement on Tuesday in Abakaliki
said Dr. Obaino could be disqualified as the
party’s flag bearer by the court if the National
Chairman and Secretary of the party, Victor
Umeh and Sanni Shinkaffi endorse his
candidature.
According to him, Umeh was not properly
elected while Shinkaffi’s tenure, according to
the party’s constitution has elapsed.
The statement reads, “Despite the emergence of
Dr. Obiano as the Victor Umeh/Peter Obi led
APGA candidate in the forthcoming
governorship election in Anambra State, the
party may afterall not contest the governorship
race in the state.
“The sharp division in the party
notwithstanding, should Umeh led APGA
faction goes ahead to endorse any candidate
for the election, such candidate stands to be
disqualified if his candidature is challenged in
any court of law.
“APGA constitution states that a person is
entitled to occupy any position in the party for
a maximum of two tenures of four years each.
The current national secretary of APGA, Alhaji
Sani Shinkafi was elected the secretary of the
party January, 10, 2003. By August 2013,
Shinkafi will be spending his 10th year and
seven months in the same position as the
secretary of the party.”

Politics › Re: YORUBA GRADUALLY BECOMING THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE IN SOUTHWEST by FreeGlobe(f): 9:07am On Sep 02, 2013
This nonsense cannot staand. The yoruba govs should only implement this law in their cave states. We are not interested but Lagos a cosmopolitan state belonging to Nigerians and built with Nigeria money at the detriment of other states must not be part of it. I know this law is being propagated with Lagos in mind but they have failed because this illiteracy is already being practiced in all Yoruba states. 75% Yorubas living in Yoruba states cannot speak, communicate or understand English nor pidgin. Lagos is not Yorubaland, it is just South West. The FG bought Lagos and it belongs to Nigerians.

Afam4eva: I think Soludo should let this one slide. It's obviously he's not gonna win with an unknown party when the election in just 2 months away. Peter Obi has done his worst and he will regret his actions.
campaign starts officially this month so its not yet late. It depends on how much Soludo is willing to market himself with and I see Atiku and some people sponsoring him. The election at this moment is still very much open, what Soludo may lack in 'Party advantage' he has in name, just like APGA is popular but the candidate is not, Ngige with APC controversy and PDP torn over themselves

texaco1: but the issue here is , this pdm will really give apc a hell of a fight and we should remember these pdm guys are pdp members they can always switch back anytime , the end result will be that apc will not make any appreciable wins in the next elections
Nice Analysis, If people voted parties, Ngige wouldn't have become Senator. All that is needed is a comprehensive campaign to put the party logo and name all up in people's faces. APGA went into the IMO elections late and still won

Politics › PDP: OBJ Declares War Over Uba’s Suspension by FreeGlobe(op): 10:10pm On Sep 01, 2013
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is said to
have returned to the trenches within the fold
of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) following
the outcome of the governorship primaries of
the party in Anambra State.
Obasanjo had recently attempted to broker a
truce between the PDP and the aggrieved
governors of the party under the aegis of G5
in Abuja.
Though the meeting lasted for a week, nothing
concrete came out of it at the end of the day.
Sources however told Sunday Tribune that
Obasanjo was motivated into taking up the
peacemaker role because of his belief that his
candidate would be allowed to emerge as
gubernatorial candidate in Anambra.
A source in the know said that Obasanjo is a
calculating man and that his involvement in the
peace process was to facilitate Andy Uba’s
emergence as gubernatorial candidate of the
PDP in Anambra state.
The source said that President Goodluck
Jonathan equally got the message from
Obasanjo and that he actually considered the
Andy Uba choice but that analysis of the
political situation in Anambra indicated that
the PDP would easily lose the election should
it field Uba.
“The President actually considered the choice
of Obasanjo’s candidate for Anambra in view of
the role played by the former President in
seeking peace with the governors but he was
confronted with facts and figures which
confirmed that the PDP would lose the election
if it fields Uba,” a source said.
The source also stated that the PDP then
resolved to field a neutral candidate but with
the plan to allow Uba contest the election in a
free and fair primaries.
“I can tell you that if Uba had emerged a
candidate from a free and fair primaries, the
president would not have objected to it.
Somehow, Uba got wind of the plan by the
PDP not to field him and he organised a
parallel primaries,” another source said.
Following the rejection of Uba, it was learnt
that Obasanjo had decided to return to the
trenches within the party once again.
“He is already aggrieved that his candidate in
the National Working Committee (NWC), Prince
Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has been sidelined, then
coupled with the rejection of Uba, he feels that
he has an ax to grind with the party and the
president,” the source stated.

Chukuma Soludo, former CBN governor and struggling Anambra governorship aspirant, led a group of South East women to hail Atiku in his Abuja home. Discussion were held behind closed doors and indication of his intent to switch to PDM and get a 2014 Guber ticket on time to be on the ballot for the up coming polls .
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Movement has saluted what it described as the bravery and statesmanship of the dissenting delegates of the PDP.

The National Chairman of PDM, Mr. Bashir Ibrahim, who spoke through his Media Advisor, Alaba Yusuf, said, “We appreciate their bold, brave and patriotic stand of these delegates for refusing to participate in an election which they knew gave no even playing ground to all stakeholders.’’

This is the truth. All these people saying church this and that are very ignorant. We forget about Anambra civil servants who are 100% against Peter Obi and have a soft spot for Ngige because he cleared their salaries. In the absence of a Soludo and the going on in PDP, Ngige is the next governor, forget what these Peter Obi goons on Nairaland say.

well, they gave cogent reasons. Why would Bamanga Turkur accept court judgment quickly for Rivers PDP and refuse same for Anambra PDP. Ali was a better Chairman than Turkur despite being a retired soldier.

People like you should be barred from opening threads. Focus on your GEJ laundry here. Anambra is the least indebted state, is that an achievement? Least indebted because state funds have been trapped in Peter Obi's fidelity bank for 8 years without any remarkable project on ground in the state. You mentioned the Lagos state debt profile while forgetting GEJ your master is borrowing funds each second so if that is your yardstick for failure so you also admit your master GEJ has failed. And mind you, Victor umeh was not part of that coronation. Anambra people have seen through the deception and greed of Peter Obi and we shall reject him and his party in November. As much as we hate Ngige right now, we will consider him over Apga

Questions yet unanswered: has the otunnba said anything about the deportation saga? Does he support it?
Why did 'igbo governor' Peter Obi renege on the agreement by igbo leaders/Bishops to allow Soludo run. Why did he sellout igbo leaders to an Ijaw man's ambition? we must be wise.
