You cannot logically prove to me the non-existence of a super-hero, yet you would consider me crazy if I told you that I met Superman last night. Atheists don't necessarily have a strong belief in the non-existence of God, just as you don't have a strong belief in the non-existence of super heroes. We just think it is illogical to believe in any God unless there is good evidence that the God in question actually exists, just as you wouldn't believe that super-heroes are real and I met one unless I presented you with some really strong evidence to support my claim.


Atheism actually doesn't need to make the society a better place. I don't believe things because I think believing them will make the society better. I believe things because I have good reasons to believe that they are in fact, true. For example, I believe that the sky is blue. Because when I look at the sky, it's blue. When I take pictures of the sky, it's blue in those pictures. Whether it makes the world a better place or not is completely irrelevant to the fact that the sky is blue. I can see it, other people can see it, and it's clearly blue. End of story. Full stop.

Where the value of atheism lies is that it allows you to employ critical thinking in every area of your life. If you're religious, there are some thoughts you cannot engage in because they contradict your religious beliefs. You are constantly shielding yourself from any knowledge that contradicts the holy dogma you subscribe to. You're required to accept some highly illogical ideas because they are written in holy books. Even if rationally you know those ideas are wrong, you have to engage in disingenuous mental gymnastics to justify them. When you become an atheist, that enormous mental burden is lifted from your shoulders. Everything in your life suddenly makes perfect sense. You're free!

What I want people to embrace is not atheism per se, but reality. If most people in society are making decisions based on reality, they will make better decisions, and society will move forward collectively as a result of that. You won't have things like women dressing like ninjas under the hot desert sun; little girls fainting from the heat and still being forced to keep their ninja attires on. Children being called witches.

i mentioned it already. Faith is primarily and basically for salvation, for without faith it is impossible to please God. That is like the oxygen faith, the one everyone can get and is readily accessible. It is so cheap and available that you don't need to be brilliant or rich or disciplined to have it. This is what it means to believe God, God has made it so cheap, so low, so accessible that anyone can reach it and believe. So, no one can say christians don't really believe God in that sense. This is the faith that is paramount, necessary and compulsory, without which it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. However, there are OTHER LEVELS of faith that we can grow into and are encouraged to grow into. A very limited percentage grow into this levels. It is not COMPULSORY to grow into these levels. However to receive other things from God, you need to grow. It is that simple. Not everybody works miracles, that does not mean they are not christians, neither should atheists cry more than the bereaved.

Stop contradicting yourself. It is either you know there are miracles or there are no miracles. The miracles people have and the testimonies they share, how many excuses have you given? The blind, the mad, the dead etc, what were your excuses, were they also in the Bible?

She went for her regular check up BUT objected to surgery. So, who is fooling who? A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. God did not stop her from going for REGULAR check ups or for surgery, her husband did. Most Nigerians do not do surgery(popularly called "operation" either because of poverty, or because of fear, not out of faith. They'd rather pray or hope than spend or look for money worth thousands or hundreds of thousands. If someone has kidney issues for instance and it cost 2million to trsvel to India and fix. If they have the money, they will go. If they don't or are not convenient to part with such money, then they will run to church or to media house with picture and pleas. God is not mocked. There is nothing wrong with going ahead with your surgery and trusting God. People die during surgeries too, so its not foolproof too. many Nigerians are afraid of incompetence of our hospitals and doctors, so would rather not have surgery or CS. This is out of fear that somebody will forget scissors inside them, or nepa will take light, or some complication will happen during recovery. In developed countries where CS is easy and commonplace, Nigerians there will choose CS ahead of labour pains. i'm talking experience, not just mouth. So, the root cause is not really about faith or covenants the Lord made. People should learn to act on Rhema not on Logos. Even Peter did not act on Logos, walking on water afterwards, he still used boats. He did not say, Jesus the same forever. He did it for me then and will never fail. Lemme jump inside Galilee. Faith does not work that way.
