TheGoodJoe:
You are missing a vital point.

How did the products leave Europe and come to Africa?

Peter Obi created the demand here, AND EXPORTED THEM TO AFRICA.

Please, he was a major exporter from Europe. He handled the logistics all through.
The manufacturer has the sole right to export whether you're buying through CIF or FOB.

You really are desperate to earn your pay, aren’t you? You are also desperate to hoodwink the public!

The fact is, he was hardly able to answer that question properly.

What is so difficult in answering the simple question of how a candidate wants to move Nigeria from consumption to production? What?

He has mouthed many slogans that he knows appeals mostly to youths, especially the ones who were either not born or just mere infants when he governor of Anambra in 2 unspectacular terms.

It’s such a shame that every time someone has scratched below the surface, it instantly becomes clear that that PETER OBI IS EMPTY!!!

Do you also want to provide the complete transcript of the CNN interview?

For crying out loud, this is a pattern. Your IPOB/Obidient/UGM/ESN candidate is all noise and no substance.

He only escapes when sympathetic and dull interviewers do not dig deep, either out of solidarity or out of emptiness themselves.

The economy of a huge nation like Nigeria is far beyond simple CONTAINER economics.

Such a sorry sight Peter Obi’s beginning to cut.
PETER OBI NO DEY GIVE SHISHI. Go and Verify

I didn't bother reading past the first line. You're that irrelevant. Next!

Okay, sounds something like a plan. Has he mentioned the major products he expects Nigeria to export using this value chain?
Not yet, but we know there's going to be a major drive towards stabilising food prices and being self-sufficient in food production. With that in mind, we are sure there's going to be heavy investment in staples such as rice, vegetables, cassava, etc.

Words have it that Peter Obi was behind the development of the master plan that made integrating 30% cassava flour in baked goods mandatory. That policy made Nigeria a net exporter of cassava today.

We expect to see more of such policies in the agro-value chain. The best thing for an entrepreneur to do now is to secure some pieces of land in the North or start working towards building a small food processing plant there.

Explain to me how Peter Obi is not an exporter when he buys goods in Europe and exports them to Africa.

Please, to Nigeria, he is an importer.

To the Europeans from whom he got the funds and purchased the goods and exported them to Nigeria, he is an exporter.

Explain to me how someone who exports goods from Europe is not an exporter.
PO is not an exporter, he is a distributor. He ran a successful marketing firm in the UK back in the day. He was responsible for introducing Heinze products and making them a household name in Nigeria. Ovaltine too, and some flavoured wines. He was also a major distributor for local manufacturers such as Coca-Cola, Yao foods, and others.

He can't be an exporter of goods he distributes, he's not even an importer in the right sense of the word. He's only a distributor, which means, he enters into a legal contract with these manufacturers to be their sole distributor in Nigeria.

Fallacious? What part? Tonye, I know there's hunger in the land but is it that bad? I wouldn't be able to muster enough courage to comment here after being caught posting a doctored video.

It's alright, when PO comes in 2023, there'll be enough jobs to keep you productive.

Interesting one.

Why Kano?
Because Kano is building a rail line to the port in Lagos. When completed, it will be easier to transport finished goods to the port for export to other African countries and the rest of the world.

I'm sure you never run out of Tramadol as your Username insinuates. I don't know why maths is so difficult for you agbadorians. What is wrong with you all? Peter Obi said employment will reduce crime by 50%, he didn't say it will end it. It is clearly written on the transcript.

Tonyebarcanista has every right to support whomever he wants to and in whatever way. This is politics.

Exporting raw materials will not take us from consumption to production in any way. We will still be stuck in the cycle of exporting raw materials and importing finished goods. The only way to become a producing nation is by adding value to raw materials.

Now that is easier said than done so I want to understand the plan. Especially when PO has already said he will pursue contractionary monetary policies which will create a difficult,t environment for investors and business people.

Besides, are you answering for Peter Obi or are you referencing something he said?

If the second, please point me to the source if you don't mind.
PO has never advocated exporting raw materials. He has always said Niger will be the agric hub while Kano will be the processing centre. If you follow PO you'll understand his vision better. That's why people like us who're not interested in politics keyed into his vision. He's better than other career politicians on the ballot.

Abi what is hard to understand here - you don't know how numbers work? undecided He selling manufactured goods and Nigeria being an importing nation cannot co-exist together?

If anything, he's living by his preachings. He said he's majorly a distributor of manufactured goods here in Nigeria, and that negates the fact we're overwhelmingly a consuming nation of imported goods? That does NOT mean we do not produce some (*few*) things ourselves.

If you're marketing agbo, it means others are not selling juices and imported wines? Mtcheeeewww.

It is another high-grade level of impunity to justify criminality with a lack of work. So his argument is that providing jobs of N50k will stop Bandits who make millions per kidnap??

Crime is on the rise and we will need more than 50k jobs to stem it's rise.

It's a shame that Nigerian youths are enchanted by this man. It's our desperation due to a lack of options. Sad

One thing that this elections and campaigns has shown is that true political activism based on real patriotic beliefs, do not exist in this country anymore. Now we have the likes of tonyebarcanista too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBX_9gpyqKg?t=1988

First, let us note that this section of the interview was about security and the menace of banditry.

We begin at 33:09

FULL TRANSCRIPT OF THE SECTION OF ARISE INTERVIEW WITH PETER OBI @TONYEBARCANISTA POSTED

Rufai: OK, but Mr Peter Obi, it is not as easy as you just said it is. Should I tell you why? Because you have to buy more guns to fight the bandits that don't make people farm on the farmlands, to fight the bandits that killed 100 farmers in Zababare, to fight the legacy issues of infrastructure that would inhibit production, and a lot of people keep asking, you keep talking about production but as a businessman you used to import a lot into this country, those are some of the things they hold against you. You talk about production but you're a big net importer into this country. And, how will you solve those legacy issues? That's why we talked about security.

Peter Obi cuts in...

Peter Obi: Let me tell you, I talked about security, let me tell you, Rufai. I've been going around this country. I've visited 5 prisons and I can invite you to go to one with me. I sat down with some when I went into a prison, there were 1000 people and I interviewed 100.

Why were you involved in kidnapping?
I have no job!
Why were you involved in cultism?
I have no job!
Why were you involved in kidnapping?
I have no job!

And I said to them, how much were you paid in the last operation? Rufai, you won't believe it, N30,000, N25,000, N100,000. What this shows is that if these people can have a steady income of N50,000, they won't be involved in that. The more you pull people out of poverty, I've said repeatedly, the more you reduce criminality. We have these things in Brazil. I can show you countries where it has been practised. All these agitations and criminality were all over the place in Brazil until Brazil decided to do what I am telling you now, investing in these people. It means these things I'm going to do is going to reduce this criminality because they will be part of the farmers earning income. Today bandits are taking 8 local Governments in Niger state, I'm telling you if you put money in the farther land of Niger state, you'll reduce them by 50%. Because they've found something they're doing that'll give them money. What else do they want?

Rufai cuts in....

Rufai:
You talked about Brazil, are you going to do social investment because it is under .....(Inaudible - PO and Rufai were speaking at the same time)

Peter Obi: I might not, I will do a combination of everything. There's a combination of everything. You're not going to do one straight thing. It's a combination of everything that will say, we are going to pull these people out of poverty, because the more we do it, so we deal with those legacy issues. On the issue of what my importation is, let me tell you what I did and I'll like to refer to Reuben cos I've known Reuben for over 30 years. Go and ask anybody what my business is, that is what I even studied. If you go and read what I studied at Harvard, it's market-to-market management. I'm marketing, I'm a distributor. Go and ask Coca-Cola, they're in Nigeria, ask other people as at the time I was in business, I was one of their biggest distributors. It's like seeing Walmart, Walmart today sells goods from Vietnam, India, etc but they don't manufacture them. My job is not to manufacture, although I invested in manufacturing companies too, my job is distribution so I distribute. When I was doing business, less than a quarter, 25% of what I sell are imported goods, the rest are manufactured goods. It's a mixture so that when you go into the supermarket, you'll see local products and others. And, I was productive.

We stopped at 37:12

TonyeBarcanista, we understand your desperation and you're truly deserving of our pity. What else can you do when your party don't have anything to campaign with?

Some of us who returned to the country to start a business have been burdened by multiple taxes. We've had to move our operations remotely as we can no longer afford office space. Some of our engineers have quit and found new opportunities in remote tech jobs. Investors are no longer interested in investing in Nigerian Tech startups because Govt consider their capital taxable income. We may have to move our business to a more business-friendly nation to attract investors and survive.

Not our fault that the Govt is visionless and sloppy.
