Wait till he or she ask what will this degree do for you, before you say you'll return home and blah blah blah, or you emphasis on Nigeria from the onset.

For instance, In Nigeria, there was safety concern where some workers lost their lives blah blah blah. As you're talking, try to use body language and you give a good example.

I am no guru, but I think the Visa Officer may have wondered why you would want to go for a postgraduate study in Occupational, Health and Safety, solely for the purpose of improving the standard of your Dad's company. A certification could suffice for this, in my opinion. You will have to be more introspective with your reply on why you have chosen that course.

All in all, I think you did good and anyone may have gotten visa with these same replies. However, I urge that you repackage, and be more introspective with your replies. Wish you the best.

Had my interview at the lagos embassy on the 17th but was denied.got to the embassy and duely observed all protocols.did biometrics and was called to window 1. Secondly, I am a filmmaker,I am taking up a one month digital editing course in a film school in New York Film Academy.I applied to two schools, one in Australia and US,I was admitted to both but I choosed to attend the one in US cos it's shorter in duration.I want to ask if it's advisable to inform the VO on the exact number of schools I applied to,or should I just simply say it's only one since I will be attending d sch in US.

I think you should also expect and prepare a good and convincing answer to the VO. to the question,WHY NOT STUDY IN AUSTRALIA? Saying that you choose US cos of its shorter duration might not really convince the VO.

i want to thank God for his favour because if not for God his grace.I was denied july 8,i scheduled another appointment for august 11 but i wasnt allow to be interviewed because my new ds 160 barcode was not updated.i called the embassy and did series of mailing.so i scheduled an expedited appointment for august 31st which is today.before that i mailed my school for an extention but i wasnt granted but given a deferment to spring 2016 so i was confused because of 120 days rule,the new i20 was the one i printed from my mail and bankstatement was early last month.So i look up to God who owns the heaven and the earth for favour,cut a deal and have a strong faith by praising God with all sort of praise and worship cds.
Here we go this morning woke up around 4am prayed a simple prayer Lord let thy will be done.Got to the consulate by 6am went to keep my bag.

I really want to thank God for his favour during my visa interview and also appreciate Slimmy05 who helped me paid my sevis fees, my good friend kennyrony who has promised to help me search for my missing placenta in US. I need to say this, Visa approval is by God's favour, confidence,Preparation and don't put yourself under on necessary pressure as if your life depends on the visa.

I want to encourage all of us to continue the good work here and keep helping ourselves like the Indians.

I woke up 4.30am but got to the embassy 6.00am because I had to stop at the ATM to get some cash for parking space. After the normal routine check from the security, I was eager to see the VOs alight from the boat as someone said here so that I can see the face of that Chinese dude. on my way to the main hall, I Saw two guys coming out with blue paper,in my mind I said so this is how a blue paper looks like.

I was on under serious tension while entering the hall but I had to overcome it during the process of biometric with the black woman..

Window 3 was approving visa for some guys who know what they were saying while window 11 was busy questioning a guy for like 3mins and
I was praying not to meet her because I heard her saying I am sorry bla bla..I was praying the guy with window 3 should leave on time when it got to my turn but I was called to window 11.Here goes the interview..

ME: Good morning and how are you doing(Big smile)
VO: Please place your left four fingers on the .......
ME: I did as instructed
VO: ooh Perfect

Mine was 13hrs too.. De stamped my visa for 1 month entry. For free. Free bus to hotel.

Same happened to my friend.was told still under administrative process and was later called from the embassy for another interview just to confirm he knows anyone whose passport was stolen cos he bears almost the same name with my friend.thank God he wasn't mistaken for a wrong identity,my friend is in the states now.relax bro,that may not be your case.you will get ur passport stamped with ur visa.shalom!!! casequote author=sorbitall post=37040384]
