My nokia once did that too , discharges while plugged in until the battery becomes totally without charge (had to boost it back to life)

Are you sure about the etisalat info ? You know anyone that has crossed the 1.5GB mark? Cus I talked to an etisalat cust care agent recently and was told that they have a 1.5GB limit on the monthly package

I really don't understand you. Could you please give me a standard definition of a smart phone? Why does the bb not qualify as one? In what aspect of business function does the BB not meet up? I have stated here the BB is a Business device and deos that function PERFECTLY. Everything else na just jara.

When I read things peeps here on NL do with their Nokias I be like "dammm , my symbian can do that ? , and even before I install the app, someone else drops another ,and am like "fork me ! My Nokia can do that !!!"
A smart phone should have the WOW effect , but never seen anything that's gat my jaw dropping about a BB

It has its Advs , it pushes well , can't take that from it , and its secure, but there should be more to a smart phone, don't you think ?

Well said , you defended your device well.
But the fact still remains that in OVERALL performance a BB is a mediocre device . It should not be called a smart phone.
And am not just saying , I own one , and I also own a S60v5 device .
The only thing RIM did ingeniously is starting the push and the "security" thingy early. We now have devices that do all that equally well and perhaps better .BB already created a status symbol though

Really , it depends on what you want for your kids and what you can accept from them
For me , I won't want to raise my kids in a society where I"ll be afraid of being a little strict when necessary lest he/she calls the cops on me
I won't want my kid to tell me he/she is gay and I can't do anything about it cus he/she's now 18. & my next door neighbour congratulating him/her for being able to stand for what he/she believes in(God forbid, but if it happens in naija , at least the society won't encourage such, and the child will eventually understand how abominable we find it )
The high level of accessibility to Guns and Drugs aren't it for me etc etc

But on the other hand I'll also want the following for my children
Adequate security
Good health care
Good education
High prospect of maximizing their potentials
Etc etc
So which do I chose ?

Cost estimation and control. So you can choose which phone to call with and guess the tariff.

That isn't an issue anymore .Only MTN users still do that today , for Glo Etisalat and Airtel , it's same rate across all network
And for you to be an MTN user this present time, you must be rich enough for that not to be a concern


I am very sure MTN will fight this reform with all they have and I hope to no avail. Their greatest (and perhaps only) strength is the large number of subscribers on their network , which this reform (if it comes to fruition ) will take away .

Infact MTN don't know what they are doing . My 114 national sms has been stuck on 112 since yesterday , and I must have sent at 25 already.

Na 0 naira dey my mtn for close to a month now , despite that, dem stil dash me 114 national sms.
Now i am bribed , so i go listen to dem next offer
