Phones / Re: Glo Data Bonus Offer by frgy1: 5:28pm On Oct 16, 2011
Mine has been working with the regular glo wap settings ( access point : glogwap )
Credit remains intact while data bonus has been reducing
Why do they even have so many access points anyway ? Glogwap , gloflat , glosecure , etc.

@deucelaw and sage_, fair usage means that they given you a certain limit they expect that you shouldn't exceed beyond within the time frame, but if you do, they wouldn't cut you off rather, they will start charging you normal data rates for the remaining time left of your subscription.
Note, all gsm operators in nigeria do this whenever they claim they are giving you an unlimited data cap.
The bolded is wrong. I know people who average 20gig/month on MTN 3.5g. I personally average 7gig/month on my Etisalat EDGE. Both the regular 3000 naira

I have used Airtel and Etisalat succesfully. Glo and MTN require more intelligence that i have not sit down to decode. If you cannot inset APN on the BB software you can do it on your Laptop by setting up an internet dial up. Google using BB as a modem follow the step listed by crackberry cheers
When you used the etisalat, were you charged from your main account or your BIS package ?

I know a few who lost someone/some people
I personally talked to a cop , who told me that they were not given orders to shoot these hoodlums , saying some crap about the hoodlums not being armed and what not.

I heard of a man who killed 2 of them as he fought to protect his two daughters.

Even on my street , hausa bike men were mugged in a bid to retaliate. It could have been fatal ,but thanks to the intervention of the soldiers

edicolove:

Nairalanders are one of the worst group of analysts Naija has. they cant even see that most of their predictions failed in the NASS elections and they are still predicting more. The problem is that they read newspapers like Daily trust and form their opinions from there. How can a Nigerian even take Daily trust seriously. They are a tabloid at best. A gossip newspaper. I feel sorry for all ya.

First and foremost, GEJ does not even need an alliance from ACN. did you see the Saturday results? I wonder how you guys analyze things. The ACN only won in Ogun and Oyo because of the split in the PDP. Cant you see that if you combine the votes of PPN and PDP, they beat ACN hands down? that means ACN or Tinubu is not in control of the south west like some are claiming else ACN would have cleared majority of the votes. same goes for the votes of accord party and PDP in Oyo. If they can get their acts together and settle their differences, they will whip ACN. Ondo is going to GEJ since labour is fully behind him. they will never vote ACN. I am not a PDP supporter but the analysis i see on these boards are funny and will continue to be wrong as long as you guys keep looking thru sentimental glasses. Ekiti is just like Oyo. without infighting, it will go PDP. Lagos will be won by GEJ. Did you see how many votes CPC got? and the most silly analysis of Lagos i always hear is that Lagos is Yoruba driven. The non indigenes in Lagos outnumber the Yoruba by over 5 to 1. The only reason Yorubas still rule Lagos is because most non indigenes dont care much and dont normally take voting seriously. Many of them will be coming out on saturday and you will see a different voting pattern. Surulere is predominantly Ibo. Apapa and environs are predominantly Niger Delta and
middle belt. Ketu, Oshodi have a high Ibo and south south population and so on. Most of them are bracing up for sartuday. most of these people dont care about senatorial or house of assembly elections. they dont care much about governorship too. and many of them like Fashola too. You guys need to do better analysis if you want to predict well. really.
Hmmm. 'Great' analysis from someone who knows that yorubas make up less than 20% of Lagos state
You are a big ,,,,,,,

Politics / Re: Bon Presidential Debate:was It Ok by frgy1: 3:09pm On Mar 31, 2011
It was definitely a shameful outing.
IMO the debate served its purpose perfectly. It further strengthens the bond in mediocrity between GEJ and his supporters

To be honest , put your self in the man's shoes. If you are a mediocre that ,by several strokes of luck, find yourself running for the office of the president at a time when political awareness is at its highest , will you
1) Attend a presidential debate where you will be drilled so Hard in the presence of formidable opponents that you'll lose a large chunk of you elite voters ?
2) Rather not design the presidential debate you have decided to attend in such a way that you'll have nobody to best you and make your weaknesses more obvious ? (The 3 others pulled out about a week ago , why couldn't GEJ be the 4th man on the 1st BON debate? Their decision to abstain made it possible for BON to split the debate in two, thereby grouping GEJ with the 3 absentees )
3) Rather not make sure no damaging questions will be asked ? And nobody points it out when you answer un satisfactorily ?
4) Rather not have friendly faces in the audience who will boost you bellow average confidence ?

The man is only hiding his weaknesses , he can not give more than he has to offer, which is way less than the minimum requirement for the office of the president IMO
The man is looking out for himself. Sometimes I pity him , its his educated followers' reasoning that beats the hell out of me.

Anybaba:

At the rate we are going, with the level of impudence that is exhibited by Nigerians, I can say without any shadow of doubt that we will succeed in not just making a mockery of what the office of the President of this country represents but would have exhibited to the whole world how indeed we have no regards for any constituted authority in the land. Responsibility is a two way thing, for the leaders and the led. We do not need to go further than Nairaland to see the irresponsibility of the Nigerian followership. And if leaders are a product of the larger followership one equally does not need to go beyond Nairaland to see why our leaders are irresponsible. Lets keep piling the insults, afterall it is Nigeria.
Make we hear word jo.
Who is making a mockery of the office of the president if not the first family itself ? The wife goes around screaming umbllela ,and adding 's' to the word 'children' while the hubby call people rascals among other things. All in public !
What should we do ? Roll over and die ?
if all we can do is make jest of their misdeeds , we'll do just that.
But I don't believe he said that 'job security' thing. I don't think its beneath him either. Lol

Every mob has a leader who is always more guilty than his followers. Buhari considers himself responsible too, otherwise, why has he apologised for CPC's violence on quite a few occasions now?
So for apologising for the actions of his followers , he has owned up to a criminal offence that is punishable under law. Guess the AG will use his apology as evidence in court. A slam dunk case , no ?

I am not impressed. Glo is a 419 network. They pawned my line to another fellow without any recourse to me. Friends just kept calling me on my MTN line to find out if I lost my phone. I travelled for just two months and pronto, they sold my line to somebody else. And night or day, you cannot get their customer care to even complain. I have abandoned the sim for them.
I dont like it when people come here to demarket somebody's business because of bad experience which may not be general but I've seen what people are writing here, trying to put other networks down in a bid to raise the profile of Glo. I'm so pissed with the lack of ethics in Glo. We should stop condoning rubbish because 'it is Nigerian'. How many Nigerians work at Glo, holding sensitive positions where they can independently take decisions? How many Nigerians are working in Etisalat, MTN, Zain? How many of those take key decisions? Glo is not a model of what we should recommend to others. Period.
Tell us. We would like to know.

All that is being said is, you guys tone down the violence by several notches or the law will visit. Nobody or group is above the law.

texazzpete:

I agree with @obailala.
INEC never said they'd use the DDC machines for the general elections. In fact, when addressing the senate, Jega specifically told them that electronic voting was not going to be used.
The DDC machines were used to capture relevant data. The data is supposed to be screened for anomalies and/or fraud and then printed as a manual voters register.

I don't understand this sudden anti-Jega vitriol. Can any of you provide a link or source to where Jega promised electronic voting to anyone.
True
But the question is , why did we go through so much trouble and spend so much money on the voter's registration, if on election day , there will be no credible means of verifying the authenticity of these cards ?
u must have seen one if u don't have one, these 'cards' are just laminated strips of ordinary paper (many nigerians ,including me, laminated it themselves)
What stops anyone from mass producing these cards since there will be no means of checking them on the D day? (You know better than to say manual register I hope )
What are we doing ?

How does presidential candidate defence of an unguarded statement disparaging his party by his opponent amount to self serving in NL. I am in the least disappointed. Azanor:

I think this is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. Good because both companies have strong products (xbox live and zune from microsoft, ovi maps and ovi stores from nokia) and combining them can only make them better. Engineers from both sides of the pond workin together, excellent finnish hardware plus impressive american software skills can make a good product. Having said that, I dont really like Windows Phone 7 as it is right now. In my opinion, it's almost as restrictive as iOS and has quite a few kinks that need urgent straightening out (no file manage, no copy & paste, 3rd party apps loading too long, no multitasking). If these problems can be ironed out, then the future is really bright. If however. Microsoft chooses to leave things this way, then nokia fanboys (like me) who we're willing to give the new partnership the benefit of a doubt, will dump them like cheating lovers.
Right now, I'm making contingency plans to switch to Android, just incase droppings happens.
What!!!? Really ? And its meant to run on smartphones ?
