What do they stand to gain from supporting Jonathan?

PoliticsRe: The Presidency Nigeria Deserves by friedrice1: 8:36am On Mar 25, 2011

Ok. Point number 1;

Politics places more emphasis on interests and less on personalities. While some people may admire his fiery preaching (like me), there are many others who feel he has attacked their beliefs directly. In other words, they feel threatened by him. Unfortunately, this is politics. It is all about how many people you can get to accept you. The people who will act as "foot soldiers" to mobilize votes on the d-day are those who have something to gain directly or indirectly. By "mobilize votes", I do not mean rigging. I mean compelling people to go out, using their resources and energy to get people to vote, etc.

Among the core muslims, there will also be many others who will automatically repel the idea. The hardcore pro - sharia guys can not be comfortable having a serving pastor as their VP. Not just any pastor, a fiery one! To paint a picture for you, how many christians do you think will support a ticket where the VP is an imam? especially an imam who has made strong religious remarks.

Among the christians, I will leave it to your judgement. How many christians do you actually think accept his ideology? There are many others who completely frown at the idea of a pastor getting involved in politics. So if bringing him in was a strategy to win the hearts of christians, then it was clearly a wrong move.

Note: These points do not represent my personal feelings towards him. I am only making an effort to see into the minds of others who make up the voting population. You can correct me if my theory is wrong.
My brother, these are your own biased thoughts towards him, (ofcourse as a GEJ supporter who would do anything to discredit the opposition, and turn a blind eye to the mortal sins of GEj and the PDP which is as clear as the daylight sun). the massive open minded, unbiased majority would not share your theory.

How silly can our president Jonathan be?
No just that he's clueless and dumb, he also
surrounds himself with empty headed aides and advisers. Was it not this same guy that called Okah to withdraw
his statements and implicate others after the Oct 1 blast?,

My statement is what it is - a statement. Never intended as an attack.
Goodluck is saddled with the responsibility of managing the nation. Based on my assessment of his performance. He has impressed me a lot; far more that the lots you touted above. GEJ is not just a good leader. He is a very good administrator. That is what the record of his achievement says.
He is tested and trusted, and has succeeded in many things.
Nigerians have decided in the polls the he is a good leader. The April election will confirm it by God's divine grace.
you couldn't list a single achievement. i need to hear some of them.
i think performace in Nigeria these days need to be questioned, the same reason JAMB keeps reducing cut off marks.
the last i heard was 070 / 400 considered as pass mark for entry into universities shocked shocked
Recently the senate confirmed a nominee who couldnt recite the National Anthem and Pledge, also couldn't
tell the capital of Jigawa or the colours of the national flag an Ambassador. saying she performed well. If you derived your assessment of GEJ based on this,
then i may agree with you.

He is the man Nigeria need for the next four years
. End of Discussion.

Please don't place such a curse on Nigeria, we have suffered enough.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Leads With 60%,pdp May Lose 4 States by friedrice1: 11:32pm On Mar 21, 2011
As deputy Governor for 8 year, what other experience do you need as Governor? perharp another 7 years as governor before he knows the ropes to act as one.
check the stats, 8years as Deputy, 1.5years as governor, 4years as Vice President and yet not a single achievement as President for over 13months. I guess the whole nation should sit still and wait for him for another couple of years to learn what it takes, so you feel such a person with an obvious learning disability should be the president?

Kobojunkie:
Jonathan spent 8 years as Deputy Governor/Governor in Balyesa, a deep Niger Deltan State, and he has no clue about his own people's issues. He did NOTHING for his own people during that time and enriched himself while he was at it, doing Nothing.

We celebrate people like Amaechi Rotimi ( A Niger Deltan Governor for 4 years) for the visible improvements he has made to his state in such a short time. Also Peter Chime who in only 4 years as Governor of Enugu State has transformed the state in so many ways. Then there is Fashola in Lagos State who has helped improve one of the most populous states in the country in 4 years. Jonathan had 8 years to work with and did nothing in all that time in one of the most funded but least populated states in the country.

The same man has been in Aso Rock for almost 4 years and he has again done NOTHING for his people from Aso Rock. He is still promising them all but has yet to deliver anything to them from there.

Pray tell, why would any Niger Deltan in his right senses want to vote for the same man that has neglected them 12 years straight to return for another 4 years? Why would anyone wish this one the same people who endured it for 8 years and then another 4 ?
debate these issues raised here,
Yes, the clueless Jonathan would definitely rig massively and win and after that what next?? this same guy doled out 40 billion Bayelsa state fund to the Yaradua campaign project in 2007, and people with supposedly sane minds are still rooting for him?? Jesus Christ!! it's obvious a lot of Nigerians are high on hard drugs,

you are saying this based on whathuhhuhhuhhuh u need to give us fact and not hear say. the primary aim of this debate is to see who will convince us for our vote and i think shakarau won the day.Buhari clearly lost the debate. he has no clue of what he is going to do there other than to fight corrupt people which is not our only problem, he will definately be pushed around like he was during his early regime.SHEKARAU ALL THE WAY
based on his performance so far in his state. He spoke so well, was eloquent, had a clear cut plan, and was soooooo convincing
JAMES IBORI had this traits too., that's the problem.
