Those on substance usually behaves erratically and are usually unstable. See how the car was cut to pieces. I don't know the joy people derive from over speeding in Nigeria of all places. |

honestly your story is difficult to tell if your friend was just wicked or what but don't make demands of people because you don't know their true situation. we should always respect others. someone called me once, and was giving orders to do dis and dat, as if i was her bank !! kemika8989: hmmmmm why are lagoians like that's I have such express too. Close friend of mine like that's 2010 promised me to come to Lagos all the way from Abuja I was so happy to go to Lagos. Before our car moved from park I called him to inform him and he told me to give the drive phone. Which I didn't know what he told the driver until we get to Berger the driver told me to drop this is the place he said I should drop. I did happily hoping to see my friend I called him all true he didn't pick next thing d number was switched off. And I was left with only 3500 on me I trekked from some place I can't remember again in Berger I get to one filling station I was asking people where there's cheap hotel because is late already and they kept giving me directions when I get to the hotel is already booked. Until I saw a cab man who drove me to ojota by 11 that's with my bag I was tired already. Lucky me I saw one hotel I entered the place and they told me 5k and what I have was 3500 I told the receiptionalist I'm not going anywhere I'm tired luckily someone saw me begging and she told me she's the owner of the hotel I look like her son who is on Sweden with her husband. That's how I stay there and I spend weeks free of charge. Fear Lagos people |

she is not from a good home. someone from a good home would have a backup plan. besides you see how you said she turned out is that someone from a good home? the problem is these people are desperate to go abroad, instead of working hard... they are just looking for easy money! WUdec: Similar story like this happened to someone i met for the first time in London. Let's call her chick
She had been speaking to her friend before and after securing her visa. Same friend assured her of accommodation and said she was looking forward to picking her up
Chick shows up at Heathrow airport and no one shows up to pick her. Her friend switched off all phones.
Chick begs the Nigerians she meets at the airport to help her with accommodation. Finally a Nigerian Edo gal agrees and takes her in. 2-4 days in, she tells chick that she has to start hustling by doing what she does, which is selling pussy. As different men always came to the house for this.
Chick refuses becos its not her custom and she came from a good home. Chick talks to a man about her problem, he brings her to where i was living with other guys. The owner of the crib refused to take her in but called another guy, an Igbo married man to take her in.
Chick is very beautiful so half way in btw her stay, she and the guy start sleeping together as her survival instinct kicks in. Don't know what happened later but heartbreak it sure was.
Saw her one day on the streets of LDN and she had changed. Had been through hell and back. I felt so bad for her and still wonder why she never returned to Naij.
Fear Nigerians. The devil lives in a lot of 'em
A lot of Nigerians in Europe will tell you worse including how their passports with visas were robbed by their friends upon arrival, 1st night |

I would not do it to another but I would not place myself in the same position. some of these people play games !! they both agree but I think his friend was reluctant to say yes, but couldn't disappoint. so his only option was to go dark and come up with excuses later. So don't put people in this situation again. if he or she is not your family, don't tell people to allow you to stay. btw, what's your business if he is living fake live on social media ? if you don't understand, let me give you a simpler example. suppose you have N2000 naira with you, and your friend want's you to share. you have other obligations, and if you dash am part of the money, you no go fit pay the rent. So you agree, but when friend come for money, you disappear. it's the same analogy. it means you are being greedy. btw, what's your business if he is living fake live on social media ? CoolJulian: I don't like this at all... For God's sake, he wasn't forced into rendering the help. Are you insinuating that he was uncomfortable, yet encouraged @op to come over, only to get have him abandoned? That you even made this assumption, is beyond my comprehension... Does this mean that you can do this to a fellow human being, just because they made you offer them help outside your comfort zone?
Though I feel that, that guy is one of these people living very fake life on social media, he is a very wicked person, and there is nothing special about that, because there are plenty people like that all over this country, and that is why, in this life, I do not trust anybody who is not a family member, no matter how close we happen to be... Too many sadists in this country.
@op, do not hold it against him, just forget about it, and forge ahead. God has better plans for you, the guy was never going to be that channel... Most importantly, do not trust people! |

no I'm not wicked. these types of people that narrate the story are usually selfish. they want too much from people. then they start to give orders. i want this, I want dat. you have to understand, him friend couldn't say no to him directly. try to be mature and don't put people in uncomfortable situations ! Nathan2016: You sound very wicked. Uncomfortable position to allow someone that is broke travel more than 6 hourd journey. Telling him you can help him get a job?

lie. unless your burn your home. juman: This story similar to many other peoples experience particularly outside nigeria. A friend of mine got to newyork, called the person that promised to host him. The person said sorry I cant host you as promised. He was then forced to think of alternative.
Me I got to europe. I was immediately thinking of returning back home. But because nigeria was bad, there was no home to return to. |

so you stayed at your cousin's place for how long ? people like you do not tell the entire story. sslcrypt: I can recall my first assignment on a foreign land. Was given a contact to meet up and would be hosted for couple of days till my accommodation was finalized.
Was on call before departing and everything seem fine and good to go.
On getting to the location after a 4hr journey, the contact stood me up. I called and called and cried and nearly ended up sleeping on the bench in the waiting area. The weather was 5 degrees that night..
That very moment changed me as a person. Been in a foreign country for the first time and getting stood up like that was the least I expected.
But thank goodness I had a back up back up plan. This was a relative I kept her number prior to departing Nigeria.
She had no clue of my arrivals or planned trip but was all the same very very happy to accommodate me. So rather than crying myself out.. my anger kept me up all night waiting for the next train that was going to depart 5am to my cousin's location.
Till this day I never understood if it was part of my training or just wickedness. But the growth I attained made me appreciate that situation I found myself, because it triggered all the qualities needed to survive in the game and kinda made me ruthless also. |

6000 dollars per month na lie ! Barywhyte: Best decision! I tell you in less than 3 years with full dedication and focus, you will be earning forex. That is my story.
My advice, focus on your preferred stack and learn rigorously for 6 months without destraction using online resources, like Udemy, Coursera, Udacity etc. After gaining some confidence with one or two personal projects on GitHub, start applying for entry level jobs. Build a network of tech friends. This is really important. I have friends who earns $6k monthly working with Andela, in this Lagos. I'm one of them and I'm not the best. I'm still learning and are tons of things to learn. I'm a Site Reliability Engineer.
If your focus is software development as either backend or frontend, just focus on a language for the next 6 months and learn how to use cloud hosted virtual machine to deploy your app. |
