tunderule2016: My Tuesday is well. I come here to help and give valid and useful information to great people because this same forum blessed me. I get more than 60 PMs in one month but unfortunately I don't respond to personal messages because of the doctrines here which includes transparency and honesty. So my brother I am not bothered with your inconsequential tales. I don't need fame. I don't run a visa consultancy service, but project management firm. This is where I spend my leisure except on weekends. My point is simple. Don't mislead people here. Don't come here to tell us UK Government can't spend money calling banks to get information because they're stingy. It's unprofessional. Since you don't know Ikeja charge N18,000 extra to submit an application. I won't forgive you on this one. You also do not know Ikeja's timeline is different from Victoria Island's. I forgive your ignorance for this one, but my brother you goofed seriously as an agent. I don't just come here to post, I do extensive research. I pity anyone that listens to you. 2 Likes |

tunderule2016: I won't contest with you since you can't even differentiate the embassy/consulate and a commercial partner. You're too desperate. Just start reading from 2014 to know that the UK Visas and Immigration's new commercial partner is Teleperformance and they have ONLY three submission centres in Nigeria. Ikeja, Victoria Island and one in Abuja. At Ikeja you pay extra N18,000 to submit an application. I won't educate you on this subject. Use google, but please stop misleading people here. tunderule2016: Please stop misleading people here. All I can do is laugh since you don't know what N18,000 is meant for and you cannot differentiate the consulate/embassy from a submission centre. Let me give you a little assignment, start reading from 2014 and you'll know what N18,000 does at teleperformance IKeja. 3 Likes |

@tunderule2016 Submission of application at Teleperfomance Ikeja attracts extra N18,000 and applications are treated here in Nigeria and it takes from 5-14 working days for UKBA to reach a decision, while at Teleperformance Victoria Island, you don't have to pay the extra charges aside your visa fee and applications are treated at Sheffield UK. @ifyalways was right. 1 Like |

harry41: Large inflows from unverifiable source which reflects in your statement of account prior to application are always a red flag scenario and good grounds for refusal. It is a very common case. Prepare a strong cover letter and attach it to your application. You shouldn't have a problem doing it. It's your professional field. |

harry41: If your brother is providing accommodation. He needs to send you his mortgage bill, utility bill, copy of his passport data page with clear evidence of his immigration status in the UK. A letter of invite clearly stating he will accommodate and provide feeding for the duration of your stay. On your part, you will need your 6 months pay slip, 6 months bank statement, employment letter, introduction letter from company, leave letter, call to bar certificate and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc. Be informed that the N2m closing balance cannot guarantee you a UK visa if it is not from a verifiable source with paper evidence. The eco's interest is how the money was made and not how much you have in your bank account. Also you must be realistic preparing your budget for the trip which must commensurate with your earnings. |

eyiye:. For younger applicants, it's generally very difficult to prove the strong ties to their home country and therefore it makes it quite difficult for them to get the visitors visa but not impossible. Since she's not been able to form many ties, the entry clearance officer may look at specific intentions, family situations, long range plans and prospects within the country of residence. List the documents you're sending from your end and also let her list the ones she has e.g Bsc, professional development training certificates e.t.c |

Hilda2016: Lack of preparedness caused you the visa. Also, it makes no economical sense for your uncle to sponsor you as an adult vacationing in the US except you're a minor and sponsor is your parent, spouse or partner. For an adult to qualify for a tourist visa, they must meet the visa requirements and have strong financial ties to cover their trip. You should reapply with your husband who will be your sponsor and be be ready to present your case to the consular officer in a clear and concise manner. You only have few minutes to convince the officer why your visa should be approved. Outline all the points you want to make especially the question "why are you travelling to the US? @LadyG did a very good job this morning by giving clues to that very question. Not sure anyone here should have a problem with this very important question again. 1 Like |

cydophobia: No. Because it makes no economical sense for someone to spend thousands of euros on an adult vacationing. Except you're a minor (under 18) and sponsor is your parent. For an adult to qualify for a tourist visa, they must meet the visa requirements and have strong financial ties. |

westerk: Definitely you must mention your family members in your application form and during the interview. Concerning your strong ties, actually, there is no standard definition for it. What constitutes strong ties will differ from individual to individual. Ties are the various aspects of your life that bind you to your country of residence e.g, family employment and possessions. At your visa interview you have to be ready to present your case to the consular officer in a clear and concise manner. You only have a few minutes to convince the officer why you should be approved. You should have all the points you want to make outlined and you should have all your supporting documents in order and ready to present them both originals and photocopies. |

westerk: You're good to go, she'll need to submit her bank statement regardless of the closing balance. Your bank statement and pay slip is sufficient as the sponsor. You also have to arm yourself with strong ties to prove that you'll return back after your temporary visit. |

veleta: There is no point for the bolded. It's not a problem if your brother cannot accommodate you. Staying in a low budget hotel is also not a problem. All you need do is complete your form truthfully and straightforward. The law places a burden of proof on you to prove to the entry clearance officer through your strong ties that you will return back to Nigeria at the end of your exam/stay. But don't you think three weeks is too much? |

castiello: Rules are rules, it is their country, their immigration policy. They actually don't care if the numbers of applicants reduce by 90% Memorandum and article of association and children birth certificates alone is not enough ties to convince a UK entry clearance officer. That is my own observation, you can try, but be very sure your £1,200 is refundable. All the best 1 Like |

kdf3449: The embassies do not care about your country of residence, but your residential permit to live and work legally in UAE. Consider that legal residency is defined by the laws of a country where a person resides, with respect to the country of the person's citizenship. What the visa officer is interested in is whether you have ties to UAE that will compel you to return back to same UAE after your temporary stay in the US. If you must demonstrate your intentions and ability to leave the US after your stay, then the embassy/consulate in UAE is the one with the experience in judging such claims, no matter what your citizenship is. You don't expect visa officers in Nigeria to know more about Etihad and HSBC better than their counterparts in UAE. |
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 2:10pm On Apr 19, 2016 |
kdf3449: The decision was reached because you did not demonstrate to consular officer where you have your “strong” ties. Example is Presence of family and Community Engagement. You should reapply in UAE because that is where you have your employment and you are technically engaged with the community because you pay your taxes to the UAE Government and not Nigeria. 1 Like |

@castiello How do you intend to convince the eco about your employment/job and where you make your money from? I am assuming you're a freelancer, do you have documents of past and present jobs completed with evidence of payments? Your application is not straightforward and these are my observations. 1. You're a director of a company that is not tax compliance; meaning the company has stopped functioning or hasn't done any job/contract since 2014 since its tax clearance certificate is not updated. Let me also inform you that embassies/consulates are aware that just anybody can register a company in Nigeria and list friends and families as board of directors since it is compulsory you have at least a director listed as a shareholder. 2. No salary structured. The eco needs to know your monthly earnings from verifiable source even if you get commission from the family company, there must be paper evidence to show for it. 3. To my understanding, you proposed to spend £1,700, plus hotel and feeding in the UK for a training from a closing balance of less than 2M. This makes no economic sense especially at this harsh time. Your budget is unrealistic and does not commensurate with your personal and financial circumstances going by your closing balance. You have also failed to substantiate how your earnings are made. It does not matter if your have a closing balance of £1M; if the eco is not satisfied with the source of funds, the decision won't favour you and you'll be perceived as an intending immigrant for proposing to spend about 50% of your entire savings on a training. 1 Like |

castiello: I asked the question because £1,200 is a significant amount which doesn't bother the entry clearance officer. If your application is not straightforward, it will be rejected even if you'd paid the complete £1,700. How long has the company been in existence and what is your active role in the company? You also didn't mention your company's tax clearance certificate which is the most important document the entry clearance officer wants to see. It is used to evaluate your company and its financially strength. Let us look at the financial aspect. What is the yearly turnover of the company? As a director in the company, how much do you earn monthly? Do you have a salary account and pay slips showing your tax deduction? What is your statement closing balance? 1.3m? What is the total cost of the training including flight, hotel, feeding? close to 1.5m? Who is paying for the trip and why? |
