abeylevels: To confirm your reservation for the training, advance payment is required and of course you need to submit a confirm hotel booking except you have other accommodation you're staying in the UK. Flight reservation is not a requirement. Use www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. It's a very simple procedure. |

abeylevels: Anybody can make the payment; the ECO is more concerned about the original receipt of payment and a confirm reservation for the training. Your past refusals are not much of a problem, but you must clearly disclose and give concise reasons for all past refusals in your new application. It’s called an integrity test. Your new visa application will be treated/considered differently. Documents you need from your company; Registration Certificate Tax clearance Certificate Introduction letter from company Statement of account or Letter of sponsorship, this depends on the type of organization you work with. Document you need to prove your ties to your home country. Employment letter Introduction Letter from company Hotel reservation Training receipt and seat reservation Six months statement of account print out (Salary Account) Six months payslip showing monthly tax deduction or Personal Income Tax card. And any other documents to prove your ties to Nigeria, e.g. property documents, shares document, inheritance, Marriage certificate and Children Birth Certificate. |

customised87: The Investment and Fixed deposit Certificate are financial instrument, even though it belongs to your child; you can submit it since you facilitated it. The certificate increases your chances of getting a visa (economy ties), however it is very important you submit your salary account statement/personal bank statement with good history of inflows and outflows because that is where you have the funds that is readily available for your proposed trip. 1 Like |

klas: Yes you can, except you're doing the wrong thing. Also note that all applicants applying for a visit visa who are aged under the age of 18 at the time of application should select the “Special Visitor – Child” category when making their visa application. They should not apply as a General Visitor or Family Visitor. Failure to comply with this may result in delays in processing their application. |

flowerspot: By law, every enterprise in Nigeria is required to be registered and complied with the Corporate Affairs Commission. A business operating without registration cast doubt on the business' ability to conduct business in an ethical or competent fashion. The business is also considered illegal by Government and also to the entry clearance officer since it does not remit tax to the government. SOLUTION: Trial and error. |

lekansola: All your documents should be submitted in their originals and Photocopies. Only your work ID will be returned back to you at the submission centre. You have strong ties that can qualify as proof. That being said, there is no guarantee about visas, but the better prepared with relevant documents, the better your chances of getting an approval. For your statement of account, make sure there are regular activities at least for the past 4-6 months prior to submission. The entry clearance officer needs proof that your purpose of travel is legitimate such that you can afford the trip without using your life savings. |

lekansola: 13k & 12k are insignificant amounts to be worried about. Detail out your ties so it can be analysed here before submission. It's important to know that the law places a burden of proof on you to prove that you have substantial ties that would compel you to leave the UK at the end of your short visit. Example: employment, business, family, properties, inheritance, social and family relationship. |

eliz2fineyahoo: There are standard immigration laws that guides the entry clearance officers. If you cannot prove that your job is subsisting and the N100k is your monthly salary, the officer will have no other option than to reject your application which is justifiable if rules are followed. No amount of writing will convince the visa officer without a single paper evidence to show. |

Mikeadedi2: This is the umpteenth times we discussing this singular problem here and it baffles me why a lot of people still make this same mistake of making huge cash deposits into their bank accounts prior to visa application; this action is called “Money Lodgement” which is an express ground for visa refusal. Whether intentional or unintentional, the entry clearance officer is unbothered and must adhere strictly to immigration laws. With such account you CANNOT get a visa, because the account does not meet the requirement of an acceptable bank statement as it arouses serious suspicions one of which is money laundering. An acceptable bank statement must have up to six months transaction records demonstrating your income (from verifiable sources) and expenditures, and it must have good enough fund to sustain your trip and intentions, and also; it must have enough balance to keep you going after the trip. Your account does not show anything relating to your business, how the money was made. All you have in your account is huge deposit which cannot be verified. I regret to say that until your bank statements meet the standard format as explained, you cannot apply in June, July, August, September, October, November and even December. You will continue to get refused no matter how many times you applied or how much money you have in your accounts until you meet up with the requirements. Good luck |

eliz2fineyahoo: Yes. It's a big problem if you cannot satisfy the ECO with paper evidence that the N100k is actually your salary. A company with proper organisational structure will not pay its workers' salaries in that amount through cash except it's invading tax. You mentioned operating a company with your sister. Are you listed as a director in the memorandum of article and association? Does the company pay tax to FIRS? |
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 12:43pm On Apr 29, 2016 |
NaGodwin: Many companies pay salary by direct deposit or check, while small business owners pay salaries in cash. It’s normally acceptable to pay cash as a small business owner provided it is done legally with tax deduction reflecting on your pay slip. Not deducting tax from your wages means you are getting paid “under the table,” which is illegal. |

NaGodwin: Significant amounts of cash deposit YES. Insignificant amount of cash deposit NO. Large Cash deposit is taken under the assumption that the money has been earned illegally and unless you produce documented proof that you obtained the cash legally from a verifiable source, then it is assumed to have been made illegally. |

friendly101: What is your total monthly income from all sources of employment or occupation after tax. Total should be in Naira and Not Pound What is the cost to you personally of your stay in the UK. Enter 1053 GBP. Don't get confused with the question, you should enter the same amount you have in this question "What money is available to you for your trip" The question is simple. How much of your personal money will you spend on the proposed trip? since you are the sole sponsor and you're spending 1053GBP. Then it's fine. You don't have to lose sleep over this. Just fill your form correctly and be realistic with your budget. 1 Like |

nairacountry: Consulates/Embassies evaluates your company through its tax clearance certificate to determine financial strength, its capacity and most importantly for compliance requirement. Tax clearance certificates are obtained after filing your audited accounts on or before the sixth month of any financial year and paying the tax liability if any. For example, audited accounts for year ended December 31, 2015 must be filed on or before June 30 2013. Applications filed after the stipulated period attracts penalty. 1 Like |

kaffie2: Don't go near the US embassy. Your documents are inconsequential to them because fraud is rampant in Nigeria so they don't rely on local documents. US visa officers base their decisions more on applicants’ answers to their questions than on any documents you might present. During the visa interview, they consider professional, social, cultural and other factors each person presents. Fraud and wilful misrepresentation of material fact are serious immigration offences and if you get caught by the UK, it's a 10 years ban; then kiss goodbye if it's the US. Do you work? If not, what do you do and how old are you? |
