Dooby: If you wish to accompany your employer to the UK as a domestic or household worker, you will need to apply for a Domestic worker visa, not a work permit. This type of visa includes chauffers, gardeners, cooks and nannies, who have been working for their employer for at least one full year. You will most likely be granted a six months visa. To qualify, you must be between aged 18-65, you must have been employed under the same roof as your employer. Most importantly you must travel to the UK in the company of your employer, your employer's spouse or your employer's minor child and work full-time as a domestic worker in the same dwelling as your employer. |

missmalachi: Most importantly, don't mix up the visa categories. Husband: Business visa You: General visitor visa Daughter: Special visitor- child category visa. For your husband, I want to believe he does not have a problem with his own application since the company is the sponsor. The Company’s financial documents, registration certificates, tax clearance certificate, sponsor letter will be handed over to him. But he must also include his 6 months bank statement (salary account), 6 months pay slips, wedding certificate, birth certificate, professional qualification (if any). For you and your daughter's application, your husband is to bear the financial burden. As your sponsor, he must provide these documents that are to be included in your visa application – 6 months bank statements (salary account) , 6 months pay slips, and employment letter from his company. It is worth noting that you only need to provide your 6 months bank statement even if the closing balance is N100. You should also provide evidence of your previous employment which must be explained in the cover letter to the visa officer. For your daughter's application, you should select the “Special Visitor – Child” category when making her visa application. Don't apply as a General visitor for her to avoid delays in processing her own visa. Attach her birth certificate, Father's employment letter, salary account and pay slips. Also attach to your application; documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, these may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, child's birth certificate etc. N:B: In the additional information page, you should give details of what you intend to do whilst in the UK. If possible, use an A4 paper to outline your itineraries for your stay in the UK. |

cashmered: As a business owner, it’s tempting to blur the lines between personal and business expenses; however, maintaining a distinct separation is one of the best ways to ensure long-term success and financial growth. That is exactly what the ECO expects from a business owner/entrepreneur. |

Itstyme: If you're applying as the "owner" of a company, you must submit your company's document which should include, certificate of incorporation, memorandum and article of association, company's tax clearance certificate, company's bank statement of account including your personal bank statement showing your earnings from your company. For business owners, you cannot omit your company's bank statement of account, that would lead to instant refusal. Another important document is the memorandum and article of association where the visa officer can easily verify your stake and shares in the company. |

Itstyme: If you must apply, you should consider applying in Nigeria because that is where you have your strong ties which are the various aspects of your life that bind you to your country of residence; your family and social relationships, employment, and possessions. Some examples of ‘ties’ can be family, a job or business, a house, a bank account, and investments. Let me quickly inform you that it's not enough to have a registered business in Nigeria. Is your company Tax compliance as prescribed by law? visa officers have the understanding that just anybody can register a business in Nigeria and get the title "CEO". The officers are trained and can easily evaluate your company through its tax clearance certificate to determine its financial strength, capacity and most importantly to know if the business is subsisting. In the officer’s point of view, the tax clearance certificate is a very important document issued by the Government only to legitimate business entities after filing returns at every fiscal year. Through this document, the officer can reach a quick decision whether or not your business is legitimate and is substantial enough to compel you to leave the UK at the end of your temporary visit. You also mentioned that there are large sum deposits in your business account. From what source do they come from? Do you have the contract documents i:e contract letter, invoives, bill of lading, award letter to show proof of funds from a verifiable source? For your company's bank statement to be considered, the in flows must commensurate with the company's earnings and business activities. Lastly, since your company was newly formed in October 2015 and yet to commence tax payment, I'll advise you grow your business for two years to qualify you for a visitor visa, except you have a very important business dealing with a reputable company in the UK that will benefit both companies and Governments. You can give it a try but these are the odds I found against you: No ties abroad Newly formed company Yet to commence tax payment Lump sum deposit without proof of funds No company structure 1 Like |

zoomzu: You cannot use your cooperative account to apply for a visiting visa even though it it considered a liquid asset, reason is because the money is not readily available for use. You have a strong employment ties and I want to believe your salary account reflects all transactions as you have mentioned; from your salary account to cooperative and building project. But then, how much are you budgeting for your trip to the UK and from which account are you paying for the trip? |

SGCSolutions: If you're representing your company in the UK for purchase and negotiation, you should apply for a business visa; and to do that the following documents must be submitted. From your company, Certificate of Incorporation, memorandum & article of association, company's tax clearance certificate, company's bank statement of account, invitation letter from the host company or supplier, proof of accommodation in the UK. On your part, you will need your 6 months pay slip, 6 months bank statement, employment letter, introduction letter from company and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc. The more reasons they see that you have, that must bring you back to Nigeria, the better your chances for a visa. |

@bertv66 How long have you been working with your company? This is important because the ECO is not satisfied with your finances and how you were able to save £6,899 from your salary. ECO focuses more on how you earn every penny in your account and not the huge closing balance. Visa officers also understand that some applicants build statement of account for visa purposes, reason why you must show substantial evidence for every huge deposit you have in your account. If you're not satisfied with the decision and very confident you're qualified for the visa, you can reapply. |

Lovinwa: Please go back to my first post for your first question. Well detailed. I'm afraid you'll need to include your leave letter and since you're entitled to 22days leave period and wish to spend only 10days you can as well wait for the letter to be issued before you apply. For a short term visa. The wait time after the interview is usually 7-14 days. Your insurance can be issued at anytime, but must be valid for entry clearance and also cover your entire stay in the Schengen area. |

wallg123: Your appeal must well submitted with great sense of professionalism. You might want to seek advice from a sound immigration lawyer because honestly you're in the bad book of the UKBA. Trust can be rebuilt, but the process of building and rebuilding trust doesn't just happen. It takes significant inner work. |

bertv66: To my understanding, you proposed to spend £1,800 in the UK on holidays from a closing balance which was not stated. This makes no economic sense to the ECO especially at this critical time. Your stated budget was unrealistic and does not commensurate with your personal and financial circumstances in your home country which you failed to substantiate to the ECO. It does not matter if your have a closing balance of £1M; if the ECO is not satisfied with the source of funds, I'm afraid the decision won't change even if you reapply. If you must reapply, address the reasons stated for your previous refusal. It is either you work on a more realistic and prudent budget or be ready to defend the £1,800 you are spending in the UK for 13days. But let me quickly tell you that securing a UK visa is no rocket science, but if there are discrepancies in your work documents, statement of account e.g unexplained deposit, I'm afraid you'll keep dashing your hard earned money to the UK Government. Good luck. |

bertv66: You or your friend should not bother reapplying at this time because the ECO's decision won't change. Work on your finances. The ECO is magnanimous and doesn't want you to go bankrupt. |
