Politics / State Of Erunwen Road Ikorodu Lagos State (pictures & Video) by FrontPageLawyer(m): 3:46am On Aug 03, 2016
Erunwen Road Off Ota Ona Ikorodu Lagos State is clearly an eyesore and it depict the failure of the Lagos State Government and its nonchalant approach to communities in the rural areas.

It is even worrisome that the House of Assembly Member representing the constituency Honourable Sanai O. Agunbiade (SOB) who by opportunity is also the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and a close ally of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is not doing much in rescuing this sutuation, even though his love and support for the youth is unquestionable.

This is incontestable. Quite clearly, on rainy days, residents of this great community always wish they had wings to fly, as the only possible way of eschewing the gruelling experience that mud and stagnant water create on wet days.

Much has been bruited about the glittering performances of the Lagos State Government in discharging its primary responsibilities to Lagosians, but this bogus claim is risible, because the Government focuses 95% of its attention in the urban communities, leaving the tax payers' in the rural communities to suffer.

Only a thoroughly deluded Lagos resident, whose head is loaded with a myriad of political sentiments, will readily swallow such a dose of mendacity without making vigorous attempts to spew it out or even grimace.

The road situation as witnessed today is worth pushing a flood of tears from the driest pair of eyes. Unfortunately, however, we have inured ourselves to the severe hardship inflicted upon us by government at all levels so much so that enduring societal ills in Nigeria has become a way of life. I was going to say a culture.

We plead and call on the Lagos State Government, especially the impeccable Hon. Sanai Agunbiade to use his good office to help salvage this ugly situation very quickly.

I have a business visa interview next week at the
German Consulate in Lagos.
Part of the requirement is three months statement of
account and pay slips for three months.
I'm going for a sponsored academic conference and
the amount for the conference was paid in February
that is six months ago. So I plan to go with six
months statement of account and six months pay
slips.
Hope this is in order?

You are given enough time to explain all these at the interview. Go with the three months statement of account and also take along the six months print out and explain all you have said here to the visa officer.

Hello @askari01 @justwise and other gurus,

Please I would like to know if a bank statement has to show 6 months salary payment or it should only be 6 months transaction history?

Reason is because the small company I'm working once paid my salary via cash deposit and right after that it had been paid via company bank transfer and I don't want the cash deposit to reflect when I'm printing out my bank statement when it's time to apply for a UK visa

Please advise and God bless you all

Except your bank statement shows large, inconsistent deposits from an unclear source, then you should be worried.

Submit your six months bank statement showing salary credits from your company. If your bank statement does not show salary credits, the ECO may doubt your claimed income.

For the cash deposit, you have a chance to explain in details with paper evidence to the ECO.

Very well done to all the great people in this forum. I salute you all. Oga Justwise, FrontpageLawyer etc
I have been having sleepless nights over the clashes in my applications. I submitted my visa aplication since July 1st and no update since last one i got about 2 weeks ago that it has gotten to decision level. The issue is that the whole of my have US visa interview next. Is it possible to attend US visa interview without my passport. Will copy of my datapage and previous visa pages be tenable?

You cannot go to the embassy with a photocopy of your data page for a visa interview.

For your UK visa application, the timing is right and not unusual from my calculation. Today makes it the 13th business day, so expect a decision from today.

Nairalanders Please Help. I want to Apply for Uk Tourist Visa. I have been Denied 3time that last i was Denied was December 2015. But now i choose to reapply again. having jut came back from Italy,France and Holland.. But the Balance in my Account is 1.2m I just want to ask if that Balance can get me Uk visa. Thanks

Give brief details of all three refusals.

It is not about your closing balance. You must satisfy the entry clearance officer that you have sufficient personal and economic circumstances in your home country.

Your employment and income will be a major consideration in granting your visa. So many factors will be consider in reaching a decision. If you're employed, a letter from your employer on company headed paper detailing your role, salary, length of employment, and leave will earn you some points.

If you're self employed. You may wish to show evidence of your business and incomes from a verifiable source. This includes business documents, invoices, bills of lading, receipts of sales, tax certificates, etc

Nobleman247:
Greetings to everybody. I have been reading through this thread for some time now and i have gathered a lot very useful info. Thanks to you guys.

Later this month I intend to apply for uk visit visa to go visit my sister who is a British citizen for only 10days during the month of september. My Sis will be providing accomodation and feeding and she will be sending invitation letter and all the necessary documents, but i will be paying for my flight (found some cheap lagos-london return ticket starting from N221040-N238000 upwards for the month of september)

MY PROFILE:
I have been working as a technician for a certain company (5years plus now) and I am on a monthly salary of 84k (paid in two parts 34k and 50k) after tax and pension funds deduction. Since april my company has been removing loan deduction of 15k from my salary. So for april, may and june i was paid only 69k /month (paid in two parts 24k and 45k).

Some months back I registered as a mobile money agent at one of the mobile money companies in Nigeria and I make about 35k/month (I keep reciepts issued to customers) but i dont pay myself via my savings account. At the end of the month I just collect cash from the sales of the day.

I am single and having no dependants. I spend a maximum of 20k/month on living cost. I live in a family property (with utility bill carrying my father's name)

**Some times I do freelance technicial works and I get paid for my service.
Every month i do mechanical servicing for a certain man who pays 4k into my account monthly (usually via bank transfer except for last month which was via cash deposit) . someone paid 36k into my account last month (june) and the month before last month (may) the same person paid 16k into my savings/salary account and both payments where made via bank transfer**

I have a closing balance of 600k in my savings/salary account. I intend to travel by september for only 10days.

I intend to apply with the following documents (Note I have no travel hystory) :

1. my six month bank statement (no large money lodgment except for some small bank transfers)

2. Introduction letter from my employer + copy of company certificate. (I dont think the company certificats is neccessary but when i requested for the letter of intro, I was told i would be given a copy of the company paper to go with my application, that thats how the company has been doing it for staffs who requests for introduction letter to travel)

3. Offer of Appointment letter + confirmation of appointment letter + 2 salary review letters

4. My Lagos state electronic tax clearence certificate card issued on november 2014

5. All neccessary documents from my sister who is inviting me (she knows the documents to send, she has invited our Mum twice and Mumcy was granted on both occasions)

My questions are:
1. regarding the other payments made to my savings account by individuals via bank transfers, do i need to explain them in my cover letter?

2. For the question "how much is available to you for the trip?" I intend to say 700gbp. Is it ok to say 700gbp considering that i will only be paying for my flight ticket and from my search, during september one can find return ticket to london for N221040 (using gbp to naira rate of today 1gbp =368.16 ie. N221040 = 600.39gbp)

3. To all the gurus in the house, please, egarding my profile, monthly salary, bank statement and documentation, do U think my application will fly? Or do you have any advice for me to note

Also I would like to ask, If I wanted to include a virgin land papers (ie land purchase reciept) can I include it without C of O since its a virgin land and no C of O yet.

Sorry for the long write up. Thanks you.

You must satisfy the entry clearance officer that you have sufficient personal and economic circumstances in your home country. In making this assessment, the ECO may consider your stated employment, length of employment and income. So many factors will be consider in reaching a decision, the letter from your employer on company headed paper detailing your role, salary, length of employment, and leave will earn you some points. Also provide your letter of appointment salary account and pay slips.

Most importantly the ECO may wish to see your bank statement showing salary credits. If your bank statement does not show salary credits, this may cast doubt.

You may wish to show evidence of your business and incomes from other business. This includes business documents, invoices, bills of lading, receipts of sales, tax certificates, etc.

The 4k, 16k and 36k deposit in your account is insignificant and won't work against your application, therefore you shouldn't lose sleep over it. But if you can write a cover letter explaining your other business, incomes etc. That would be fine.

For your budget, it should be realistic. Since your sister is providing accommodation and feeding and she knows the documents to forward to you, then you shouldn't have a problem.

Hello and good morning lovely people. I currently have 2 passports. One expired and one valid. The signature I used on the first is different from the 2nd, they are both Virgin passports.

Please does this pose any risk to my chances of getting granted VISA as I am married and have a beautiful daughter and we are all travelling for vacation 'when' grated VISA August (that's our interview month) here in Abuja.

I expect a reply soon.

Thank you lovely people.

Special thanks to @Lady G.

Primarily your signature is your name or identifier written in your own hand. Whether you have one distinct signature or several of them is not as important as the intent with which you use different signatures. If you're under suspicion of trying to hide your identity or of committing fraud, then the fact that you have different signatures may be seen as circumstantial evidence of your intent to hide your identity or to commit a crime.

The critical matter and expected question should the visa officer decides to check is the reason why you have two different signatures on one document and the uses to which the signatures are put.

I knew this was the case. If you still have the refusal letter, you can scan for review to ascertain if you're on a 10 years ban or not. But I strongly believe you've been ban.

If the refusal letter is not available and you have free funds to throw away, you can risk applying to determine your fear.

Since it's online; you can help her fill the application form, but she'll have to submit the supporting documents at the visa submission centre in her home country which should include the print out of the application form.

@banaby As interesting as your story is.. You got a lot of stuff wrong and I'm disappointed because you've gone through the thread meticulously... You should know that you're not ready for the U.S visa as at the time you applied not just for travel history alone and this is the number one cause of denial... You may have the funds and time to travel to the U.S but ties wise you may not be ready... About the married people and single people I have a different opinion which is.. If you're married it's a tie and if you have child(ren) that's another tie... As a single person it's very very easy for you to travel to the U.S and not return again nothing will happen meanwhile I know some married men and women do it but it's a bit complicated for a married man or woman to abscond to U.S and abandon his family just because he can send them money from U.S.. I hope applicant will take time out and weigh each tie critically before applying for U.S visa.. You may not be ready in January and be over ready by June.

@Seyewest, I don't know you, but my respect for you is immeasurable. Reason which is still unknown.

I have another question: I will be submitting my visa application next month. However, I had a credit deposit of xyz last month being a transfer from my company to my account. This amount is about twice my monthly salary & its actually my leave allowance.
The credit is not reflecting in my payslip since its an allowance but its stated in some part of the letter from my employer that am entitled to xyz amount as leave allowance per anum.
I also have an internal memo from the HR department informing me about the leave.
I am going on a business visit & my company is sponsoring me but based on comments from nairaland, I am concerned about this credit payment.
Will the ECO still require explanation despite my bank statement showing that the fund was transferred from my company to me?

If I still have to provide evidence of this deposit, It is Ok to say I actually needed the money for a specific purpose? Though am currently making some payments for personal use ; hence my final account balance would have shown various purpose the money was spent upon
or do I use the internal memo from the HR department as paper evidence?
I really need to have a strong application cuz of my past refusals from UK, US & Schengen. please help

It doesn't matter how many times you've been refused in the past; ensure you disclose all previous refusals whether it's the US or Schengen States. Visa applications are adjudicated based on individual's merits and your new application will be looked at differently and decision will be made on its merit.

The pattern and consistency of in-flow and out-flow of funds recorded in your bank statements is one of the most credible evidences that the UK embassy/consulate rely on to justify giving you a visa or denying you. So, if there are sudden surge of funds in your account, that is not consistent with your average earnings, then you need to explain it to the ECO with paper evidence which you can easily obtain from your company.

Failure to provide a believable explanation will discredit your perceived economic status and this will most likely earn you a refusal, therefore I will advise you to also asterisk especially your monthly salaries and allowance as appeared on your bank statements with remarks i:e ( June salary, overhead cost, allowance).

But like I said, you are qualified for a UK business visa in my own opinion.

Good luck.

Hello @FrontPageLawyer, @Justwise & Nairaland family;
You have been very helpful on this forum. May God Bless you all

I have some questions in filling the Uk online application form at (https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/) for my trip on a Business visa, in which my company is sponsoring me.

1)There is a place they ask if I have any family in UK?
My uncle's wife(who i can call my Aunt) is based in UK with her 2 kids. The husband is a Professor lecturing in Nigeria. He only visit his family on vacation.

Question i-Can I just state my Aunt as the family I have or I must also include her kids?

Question ii-Also my blood sister & her husband are based in UK. Should I just indicate my sister's name alone or I have to include her husband?

2)There is a part that also ask what is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP?
Since am not paying, I will answer N/A as advised by @FrontPageLawyer
However the next question asks for the ....Total money you have for this Trip?
My company has budget a max of 8,000USD for my expenses which is more than enough looking at my expenses of about 3,000GBP.
I also have over 1m in my personal account. I have over 1m in a co-operative savings with my company welfare unit.
I have 800k naira in a Mutual Fund. I have stocks worth over 2m.
Please based on the above, how should i answer the question ...what is the total money you have for the trip?.... since am being sponsored but I still have my own money which am not spending for the trip?

3)There is another question that ask..Do you have other income and How much you receive monthly from this?
While I have investments in Land, stock & Mutual Fund, the only income I receive now is Dividend from stocks which doesnt come monthly and I cant predict the amount.
How do I answer this part since for example i can receive X naira from company A in April last year , Y naira from company B in June last year.
But this year company A pays lower that X naira based on performance while company B pays more than Y naira.
Though these credits are not so huge. They vary with amounts like 35,000 naira, 800naira, 20,000naira etc

Please Nairalanders family, @FrontPageLawyer, @Justwise help as I dont want to fill N/A when i know they will see that there are some credits into my bank statement apart from my monthly salary.

Please help

1) Mention all family members especially your sister in the UK. It is part of the integrity test designed to assess applicants tendency to be honest, trustworthy, and dependable. Lack of integrity could cause you the visa which is also an immigration offence that could lead to a 10 years ban.

2) Cost to you personally of your trip? N/A. Your company is paying.

3) The total money available for this trip? You have to be realistic with your budget, $8,000.00 in my opinion is rather too much except it includes cost of training which I previously advised be paid before submission to guarantee your reservation for the training. To know the total money available for your trip (Add Hotel+Feeding+Local Transportation+Air plane ticket = ££££)

4) Except you wish to spend your own personally money which is not a crime, you can mention it, otherwise the answer remains N/A since your company is paying for the trip.

5). If you have the last dividend letter, attach it together with all previous once and input the amount in the last dividend letter accordingly; meanwhile you have a chance to explain all you have type here concisely to the ECO about your investment, dividend e.t.c.

In my opinion, you're qualified for the visa with all you have mentioned here. You have many of the documents that qualifies for ties. Having said that, there is no guarantee about visas, but the better prepared you are, the better your chance will be to have a visa.

Lastly, please ensure you submit your own personal bank statement (salary account) whether your company is paying or not.

All the best

What line of biz is your coy into?
Do you pay PAYE on your 300k monthly? And as such on your staff too. How many staff?
How long have you been operating?
May ask some more questions later

I remembered you shared the testimony here. But we can't rely on luck at all time. TCC is a very important document and a requirement. Just because it worked for you doesn't mean it will work for everyone.

For vacation.

Whether business or pleasure, it is important you submit your business documents as a company owner which includes registration certificate, tax clearance certificate, contract documents, award letters, receipts, invoices and what have you.

It will be almost impossible to get a visa without your company's Tax Clearance Certificate. The entry clearance officer can only evaluate and determine the financial strength and capacity of your company through its Tax clearance. The TCC is also the only document that confirms your company is legitimate and in compliance with government tax requirements.

If the FIRS no longer issue TCC no newly registered companies; you should be able to explain the situation concisely to the officer. The onus will be on you to arm yourself with overwhelming ties and prove to the ECO that your trip is genuine and you will return back to your home country at the end of your temporary stay as every application is judged fairly, rigorously, transparently, and on its merits.

1. I have filled and submitted my application as self employed thinking I will be able to get my company tax clearance so that I can submit both my company and personal statement with a very good account operations. 2. Do I need to submit my company statement of account and certificate of registration since my company tax clearance is not yet ready?
