Hey Odogwu,

You are quite right on your other statements about getting an interview in the German embassy especially for the category B but I have to correct your paragraph on the sponsorship letter. Sponsors do not need to have family ties with who they are sponsoring, and yes ANYONE can provide a sponsorship letter considering they are legal residents of Germany, employed and meet the minimum threshold of monthly income after tax and other expenses. Usually a single person needs to earn a minimum of €2400 net and the amount goes on for married couples, household with a child, children etc. Many of my colleagues don't have any relationship whatsoever with their sponsors and they are presently studying here in Germany smiley

Thanks a lot for this information

Thanks for this information. I would inquire from the university.
OdogwuEkeke:
You are most welcome @FrostyButter.

Your 3rd sentence caught my attention, for a sponsorship letter, you cannot just get ANYONE to do a sponsorship letter for you. Such an individual must have family ties with you and also should be gainfully employed and residing in Germany.

Recently, getting an interview takes a while ranging to months for prospective candidates in Category B whereas for Category A candidates get dates within a week to a month.

I am not sure about the new winter semester coming up, but depending on your course. Some courses can do exams online. If your course does not fall under this, unfortunately, you will miss the whole semester exam. At this point, you will have to decide if you want to keep paying the semester fees or consider looking for opportunities in other countries asides from Germany.

Personally, not to discourage those that are just applying, but just stating the obvious. It might even be more difficult for people who just recently gained admission to get interview dates if you fall under Category B because there is a backlog already since late 2019 (Beginning of COVID) if I am not mistaken. Right now, I would advise you to seek a plan B on your academic pursuit.

Na person who gives up on his dream mess up!!!!

If you have a family member abroad (Germany) I would suggest you try the SL.

The Pandemic has affected the financial ecosystem and even with the current dip with the coins.

Truth is, this journey is an expensive one and the value of naira is not helping, if it was 1-1 shebi na just N10k person go drop.

You might need to ask a close family to lend you or take a loan on your behalf else, you would have to re-evaluate your plan. Going elsewhere to hustle then school!?

Hello..I'm new here. By SL do you mean sponsorship letter. I plan on going for my masters. I recently got someone willing to write me a sponsorship letter. I want to know how long it takes for the embassy to call for an interview. I heard it takes a while. And if the admission session begins before the call for an interview, how does one go about not missing exams?

It's better u apply early. I had 4.43/5, I chose environmental engineering as my 2nd priority but they said I don't have relevant Bachelor's degree that makes me eligible for the course.

Most admissions are only open from October. Thanks for the tip.

Good day all. I just got admission into UiS for masters in City and regional planning. I actually wanted to study construction management but that was the only course available that is related to my first degree (Architecture). Pls gurus in d house, what's the job prospect for international students after this degree

Congrats man... Actually plan on applying in October, curious about what the gpa required is like. the acceptance rate is like23% which is very discouraging. Plan on applying for masters in environmental engineering.

Regina tuition is very high 16,000 dollar per year excluding living expenses and accommodation ooh. lets say u get a job that pays 10 dollar per hour. you are allowed to work only 20 hourse per week meaning 80 hour per month/4 weeks so you earn 800 dollars per month then times a year is 9,600 which cannot even pay the tuition fee of 16,000 per year. Out of the 800 you earn per month, remove like 400 for accommodation you will have 400 left. remove feeding and transport and books and call cards and other expenses that may arise monthly and u have 00.00
I will advise you look for other affordable tuition especially now that dollar is so high in black market to avoid unforseen circumstances.

Hello... I know its been a while since this post was made. I plan on applying to U of R, and on the website for the semester I'm applying, I'm seeing about 24k CAD for tuition plus living expense. I also used their tuition calculator. Are they posting authentic or close to authentic figures?

I submitted my mybankstatement certificate exactly the way it was when the request came in from IRCC and yes almost exactly the same money,

The decision is up to you if you want to respond or ignore IRCC request and allow your application to follow the normal processing channel.

Should in case you want to follow the NSE route, I would advise you not to move funds for now as this would be flagged by the visa officer when they see inflow and outflow of lumpsum transactions. Please submit my bankstatement certificate for both bank statements and attach a one-page official letter to explain the movement of funds. I almost also wanted to move funds when I got the NSE request but my bankers' advised me not to try it and submit the statement the way it is.

I wish you success in your application.

What if the lump sums are done in like 500k from a parent with a description for educational purpose, backed up with a gift deed, and left in my account for 6 months before applying through NSE?

Hello FrostyButter,

You're well on track with the pointers, but don't include or mention your cousins. Leaving the funds in your account for that duration of time is good.

If you're above 18, you could be self-sponsored by going through the NSE route. This will save the headache of showing an insufficient BS for your moms if including her as either sponsor or cosponsor.

You can also get her to include a Support Letter to the Deed Gift.

Best of Luck

Thank a lot justmellow. My plan is to go through the NSE route, by having my mum deposit the amount in my account. Yes, i am above 18 going for Msc. I was recently advised to use her account for sponsorship, my only fear is, once the 30k CAD which is the requirement is removed from her account, it would almost be empty and seem suspicious.

YOU DON'T NEED TIES IN CANADA, "they want you to come back to your home country after studying"(in quote) so your home tie should be very strong. Leave your siblings in Canada out of your application, it worked against me in my first application so had to remove it in my LOE in the 2nd application. Let the money be your mums account as lump sum towards SP application is a concern for the VO. like let your mum write a letter of support that the money would be made available for your trip and this is the total amount shes dropping ( 1st year fees plus living expenses)

Thanks for this information. When submitting this, my personal bank account statement isn't impressive. Should i submit it as well?

And also, if the money was made available in my mum's account within the span of a month, but spread. Would it be suspicious?

Bear in mind it would be kept in there for as long as six months before my application. I also fear that using my mum's account, 30K out of it would leave it almost empty, which might be suspicious, as opposed to her doing a lump sum deposit with a gift deep to my account. Any advice on this?

PS: I plan on using NSE

Thanks again.

Hello house... As regards my proof of funds, my mum was able to secure 30k CAD to put in my account which is very sufficient for my tuition plus expenses for a year. She also would be supporting it with a gift letter, being that i haven't had that much deposit in my account. Would also be keeping it there for 6 months.

Is my account statement with this amount alone sufficient, cause she had to drain her account for this.

Also as regards ties in Nigeria, she also made a gift letter of transfer as regards one of her housings properties. She had a health issue last year she is recovering from. Should i also put that as ties to my country, supporting it with medical reports?

I have cousins working in canada professionally. Would they serve as ties in canada, and should i include them?

I also have a letter from the company i work for (a professional one in line with my course of study) promising employment upon completion of study.

Would these be sufficient for proof of funds and ties back home and in canada. Thanks.

Hello FrostyButter,

Using an individual sponsor is most ideal. If you have no other option than the company sponsor, ensure to have your employer(s) make available to you the required amount for your LE and habe you tuition paid in full for 1yr.

Company sponsorship is well-scrutinized by the VO. The NSE 30k is also applicable to company sponsorship. As mentioned, also include your BS.

Best of Luck

Thanks a lot...would try some other options first before using it as last resort.

its dicey using your company as sponsor, because VO might want to ask, why is your company sponsoring and investing such huge amount into your trip. Why are you not doing same course in Nigeria while they invest same. Also you'll have to proof the bond between you n your company and what's in it for them to have decided to sponsor you...so manyquestions to be answered before using them as sponsor. When you convincingly answer those questions then you can with faith use them...

Thank you for bring my attention to these. I planned on supporting the document with a letter of standing job offer upon completion of my studies.

Hello,house..Planning on applying for NSE and I need advice regarding proof of funds. I'm a civil engineer, working for a civil engineering firm applying for a civil engineering program. My firm is willing to act as my sponsor as regards proof of fund for the 30k Canadian dollars. Can I use this? is it advisable? Plus, should I support this with my own personal account with about 10k CAD?

Please I need an urgent reply so I can give my company feedback on time...thank you.

You should submit your bank statement along with your employment letter and your sponsor bank statement. Your own employment letter and bank statement will show home ties and that you are established here. If you can get mybankstatement for both bank account it will be good

Thanks... Mine shouls be just 6 months old right? Also my company splits my salary into two different accounts. Would stream of income from other sources into my account as i try to build it also work? Asides salary. And would that be suspicious being that i live off my salary as the only source of income.

Also i read up passively somewhere where it was mentioned that i could obtain a letter from my organisation stating that i would return working upon the end of my study leave. Should i apply for such letter? My slary scale is bare over a hundred. Would that be useful or i should just forget complications in my application?

Sorry about the refusal

You were denied for two reason, One is insufficient fund and the other home ties. On insufficient fund there was lump sum in the bank statement you submitted and VOs usually view this that the money will not be available for your studies. On home ties since you are singe, a good job will serve as home ties that is why the VO said you are also not economically established. Nothing to bring you back, no family no good job.

However, if you just graduated, a good career prospect after your program and explanation about the lump sum, may be a gift deed should suffice.

Also for your first year you will need more than C$ 4,000 in addition to the funding because funding minus tuition is a little less that C$6,000 and it is good to have about C$ 4,000 for other expenses apart from C$10,000 for living expenses

Hello... Still new here, I'm about applying and i need clarifications on what you just explained. My main question is, if I'm applying using a sponsor, would the sponsors bank details alone be enough in submitting my documents, and can it be supported with my employment letter alone? Would i need to submit my own bank details... This is for NSE by the way.

Yes I used my cousin as a sponsor and she lives and works in the US .Just have enough proof that you're related ,an affidavit of sponsorship from her that's stamped in court ,then her bank statement then lay stubs if possible but also explain cause the mybankstatement is only for people in Nigeria so maybe you should write a letter that she is not in Nigeria or doesn't have a Nigerian bank account .You can do more research tho I hope this helps a little .Good luck

Thanks for this. While submitting my sponsors Mybankstatement, do i need to submit mine as well?

You are welcome

Alright

A 6 months bank statement having $30K CAD (with good inflow & outflow)

Your Sponsor should avoid any form of Lump Sum of money in his/her account, if that happens, it must be well-explained in your SOP why there is a lump sum of money in your Sponsor's account.

The 12 months you see there means the account of your Sponsor should have bank transaction history of 12 months or more. For a sponsor to Solidify his/her MybankStatement Ticket, a Bank reference letter from your Sponsor's bank would be essential.

See this

Bank Reference Letter to Solidify MybankStatement Certificate/Ticket

Thank you so much kind stranger. You have answered a lot of issues for me. I would tell my sponsor to try to ensure a minimum of 30k is in her account for the 6 month period. Would rather just take the ielts and use the NSE.

You are welcome,
If you check the content in that NSE route link

It says
Must submit a "MyBankStatement No. & Ticket Password" of $30,000 CAD of at least 6 months with a 12 months banking history

Regular Channel requires your Sponsor shows a 4-6 month's bank account statement and show availability of your Tuition & Compulsory One Year Living expenses of $10,000 CAD

In a nutshell, If it's your sponsor that is totally Sponsoring you, it's only your Sponsor's Bank Account Statement or MybankStatement Ticket that is needed.

For More details on Bank Statement from Sponsor, open the link below, under Financial document/source of income and proof of relationship, you will get more explanation there
https://www.nairaland.com/3649314/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/92#55179284

Thanks once again... Would follow up the link.
My sponsor just wants to start building her account for 6 months in preparation for September. From what I'm reading, does that translate that they would require a full years bank statement, with which 6 months must have 30k CAD?

If this is the case i might not be able to make up.
