Foreign Affairs › Liar-in-chief, Trump Just Dumped Another Monday Morning Lamba by FSBoperator(op): 11:35pm On Aug 10
Since this war with Iran began, Trump has been very aware of how it could see to rise in oil prices - something the very fragile and tottering American economy can not withstand.

Trump has so far drained US strategic oil reserves to its lowest levels in decades to absorb the shocks on domestic crude prices.

But one of Trump's best gimmicks to douse the markets, is to lie blatantly every Monday morning without fail on the progress of his war on behest of his puppet masters in Israel.

Every Monday morning, Trump wakes up as early as possible before the markets open to drop hot lies on the Iran debacle by claiming the following :

1. That Iran has been destroyed and the war is over

2. That he has reached an imaginary deal with Iran and that the war is over.

3. That the US now controls the straits and Iranian naval forces have been destroyed and the straits are now open to all.

4. That he has agreed in principle with Iran to jointly protect maritime shipping through the straits.

5. That the US will now be collecting tolls on the straits .

To his now latest Monday lie that the straits are now under his control (once again) and it is now open for traffic .

Trump does these his lies without fail every Monday just to ensure the oil futures markets remain calm so as not spill over into the stock markets.

But without fail, come Friday, Trump will begin to drop threats on Iran to open same straits he said is now under US control and open to traffic.

What a hot pile of shitz

You made so much valid points but I think you got it wrong with the above statement.

Before now Nigerians has a negative view of loan so they shy away from it. Only few people go for loans in Nigeria.

Nowadays, Nigerians have a better understanding of loans and readily apply for it. Many Nigerians now go for loans which in turn drove up the the interest rate. I stand to be corrected.
That's because we have adopted a debt based economy courtesy of Buharimonics that made inflation a mainstay of our economic life thereby making it utterly useless to maintain thrift as inflation will catch-up with whatever minuscule interests commercial banks were paying.

For the first time in my life on this earth, It made no sense to save money because inflation and instability and flip flop reckless fiscal and monetary policies were causing real havoc .

Was it not this time Nigerians began investing in crypto first as a better store of wealth?

Even Elon who is a centi billionaire swinging towards trillioniare can not boast of $50 million cash deposit in any bank.

This is what a debt based economy is.

Thrift is out and in it's place debt.

Every billionaire in the west is so not because of cash deposit or real tangible assets but rather holding on to gambling chips in their stock markets.

It's not real wealth because it is debt based.

Politics › Re: Buhari, Emefiele, Not Tinubu, Deserve Credit For Dangote Refinery – Rufai Oseni by FSBoperator: 9:07pm On Aug 10
The first person Emefile called to help with his bail was Dangote who banged the phone on him before warning Emefile never to call his number again.

So happens that Dangote will secure Presidential approval directly from Buhari to access FX from the CBN to import items for his refinery during its construction but this same Emefile will stall release of the funds to Dangote.

Emefile's stalling was because :

1. Nigeria's FX reserves were in a very precarious state due to mismanagement of said funds, brazen looting and very low inflows due to oil theft and crude swap deals for debt owed. Then there was still the fuel subsidy racket that the country was paying for it's imports.

2. Emefile will later get Dangote (who is awash with Naira) to agree to pay higher than the artificially suppressed official rate with the balance going to one of many Emefile's #2 Trillion naira local accounts.

Dangote had to pay Emefile to release FX already approved by the President himself.

People fail to understand that Emefile constituted himself as a sovereign above both the authority of the President and Nigeria's legal system.

This is someone who went ahead with the currency redesign and disastrous currency swap without Presidential approval .

This is the first CBN governor to run away from the country during his tenure and wrote to the President on two occasions first , seeking academic leave and then later medical leave which the President declined.

This is the first CBN governor to register with a political party and then seek an interest form to contest the Presidency while still on sit without resigning from office.

This is the same CBN governor who got Guards Brigade units attached to him during his closing days in office courtesy of the cabal claiming his life was in danger.

Let's not even talk of the number of properties this thief acquired in choice areas in Lagos and the over 700 fully detached duplex estate he was building in Abuja.

This is some one who has forfeited all those properties and trillions of naira stashed in commercial banks .

And someone said this Emefile was in anyway beneficial to both the Nigerian economy and people?

If this was China, Enefile would have since been shot and his impoverished family made to pay the cost of the bullet used to execute him .
I
It's because of this same Emefile that Dangote is selling cement in Nigeria higher in dollar terms than in other west African markets because Dangote could not access much needed FX to maintain operations and was patronising black market operators.

It's because of this same Emefile that foreign airlines where charging 3 times the cost in naira for their tickets because they were denied by Emefile anytime they requested to repatriate their money from Nigeria in dollars. Foreign Airlines knew there was no FX to meet their demands and that's why tickets were priced well above the official naira rate , so that whenever CBN gets itself and devalue the naira, they will secure their dollar equivalent.

Emirate and Qatar airlines left Nigeria because of the madness that was Emeficonomics.

Rufai should shut his dirty partisan mouth .

Americans have always held Congress as the least trusted and most corrupted institution. Now they are seeing that their legislators are stooges to a foreign govt through blackmail and bribery.

A foreign govt that is as hostile and hateful towards Americans than even the Palestinians they are genociding.

Business › Re: CBN: Nigerians Borrow More To Buy Homes As Household Credit Rises by FSBoperator: 3:54pm On Aug 10
With double digit interest rates on the high 20s to low 30s , taking a 30y mortgage facility from a commercial bank in Nigeria is by far the most stupid thing anyone can ever do.

You will end up paying ten times the original price on that home as interest.

I know Federal Mortgage bank rates (approx 6-8%) are lower, but those ones don't have the funds to go round.

And we should seriously reconsider entering a debt driven economy.

It only leads to more inflation.

What the govt should do is to promote thrift and investment and curb easy loans because every loan taken on interest generates more debt to be paid in future no matter how small the interest rates are.

Consider pre 80s US, the median salary was 15+25k and this was considered middle class. And this was for a single earner home and a blue collar worker

An average single family home cost about $25k.

A standard salon car cost around $2,500.

So a high school educated blue collar worker could conviniently purchase a car within one year of being employed without taking loans .

And in 5ys can save enough to buy that house outrightly .

But loans destroyed all that because it created debt from consumption which should have been directed to savings or investments.

Now that debt has caused high inflation with that same single family home averaging 500k with wages having far less purchasing power than it used to be .

So despite earning 60k per annum with both couples working, the average American can't buy a new home and Trump isn't ready to address this because most Americans who invested in property do not want the county, state and federal govt to create affordable housings .

So majority of Americans are now finding it difficult to own their first homes and Trump solution is to extend mortgages to 50ys which will see most Americans working long into their 70-80s.

This is good for the dwindling 401k pensions being managed by big firms like BlackRock because people will now have to work till they drop dead. The govt is happy too because they will tax their populace till they drop dead.

All these courtesy of that 2 great sins greed and usury.

CBN should focus on stabilizing the naira.

Even if it retains it's current exchange rate, let it be stable so Nigerians will be comfortable holding their savings in it.

CBN should also cut interest rates and shut down 90% of these commercial banks.

Banking was more secure, sober and professional before deregulation.

When we had just First bank, UBA and Union bank, Interest rates were not as high and banks were not trying to reap you another hole.

Oh it's now you know?

One of the reasons why they saw post colonial independence as theirs was because they served the British colonialists with fervour. And expected to be the heir apparent to colonial rule.

That's why till this moment they still long for the British created Eastern Nigeria to lord over and oppress the minority people .

Independence meant different things to the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria.

The Hausa Fulani saw independence as a cue to restart their halted jihad.

The Ibo saw post colonial Nigeria as theirs to lord over as the new internal colonizers..

It was only the Yoruba that saw independence differently and that's why Yorubas never sought to expand beyond their pre colonial borders and that's why Midwest region was created by a 100% vote at the regional House in Ibadan to grant the minorities their own region.

But this was never the case in both the northern and eastern region where the majority did everything to suppress the minority people's from having their own region.

This is why with these two regions holding power early in our nation's history, nothing changed other than more corruption. Because these two aforementioned majority saw themselves as internal colonisers taken over from where the British stopped .

But being that both had a supremacist agenda to dominate and lord over the polity, the events of Jan 15 was expected.

The height of SE power in Nigeria coincided when they inherited the British colonised Eastern Region. So seeing them begging Rome aka Trump to give them Biafra and at the same time Obi as President, you should understand how that colonial sellout mentality still prevails.

@OP.

Also, appealing to Nigerians in the diaspora is misguided because they are not about "Rice and Eba only" {Reno Omokri) as Nigerians at home are because of extreme poverty that existed before Tinubu.

They live in organised societies where they can buy homes on long term mortgages, typically 20 years or longer, and they see Tinubu is the only Nigerian President to do same with the MREIF scheme running a mortgage tenor of 20 years at single digit interest rate under 10% and they will reject such a President for your Obi?

You really don't know diasporans. I am one and this is why I support Tinubu ultra -passionately. I know policies and reforms that makes nations developed and I see Tinubu implementing so many other Presidents have avoided for decades to get out nation to the terrible state Tinubu inherited.

Diasporans don't have "Rice and Eba" mentality bro. They have learnt to think critically and logically, having conquered hunger along with living in developed and civilised nations.
Most of the people he is appealing to are living under the radar due to Trump's ICE and dare not expose or remind ICE that they are living in the US with expired visas or having an outstanding warrant or past criminal conviction.

Bigkoko:
NIGERIANS IN THE DIASPORA, PLEASE LISTEN. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW.

If you are Nigerian and living abroad, I am asking you to do something simple but potentially consequential for the future of our country.

Give just two hours of your time.

If you are working in the West, imagine what two hours of your ordinary work shift represents. For a relatively small amount of money printing, postage, and perhaps with a few dollars, Euros or pounds, you can make your voice heard where it matters.

Write a letter to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, through the White House Chief of Staff or a senior political adviser. I will drop the address to route your letters. Not emails. A staff can easily or unknowingly spam the email without ever opening or logging it in.

Do not make it a partisan letter. Do not ask America to choose Nigeria’s next president.

Ask America to stand for something much more fundamental:

A FREE, FAIR, TRANSPARENT AND CREDIBLE NIGERIAN ELECTION.

Your letter should raise concerns about the risks you believe Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leadership of INEC, influential political actors, and relevant judicial institutions could pose to the credibility of the 2027 electoral process—and ask that those concerns receive serious diplomatic attention and independent scrutiny.

Demand that the United States use its considerable diplomatic influence to encourage Nigerian institutions and political actors to protect the integrity of the electoral process.

Tell President Trump that Nigeria matters.

A credible election in Nigeria is not only good for Nigerians. It has implications for regional stability, migration, security, economic cooperation and, indirectly, the interests of American taxpayers.

And there is another reason this matters to Nigerians living abroad.

Millions of Nigerians in the diaspora still want to come home. Many would gladly consider returning if they could have confidence in a stable, transparent and accountable Nigeria where elections genuinely reflect the will of the people. Such that if a leader fails on it’s obligations, the next election circle will help right wrongs.

But that confidence must start somewhere.

It starts with a credible election.

We cannot continue to complain from social media while doing nothing beyond pressing “share.”

This is not about fighting anyone.

This is not about violence.

This is not about supporting one political party over another.

It is about defending the principle that Nigerians—not politicians, not electoral officials, not judges, and not powerful individuals—must determine who governs Nigeria.

Imagine thousands of Nigerians across America, Britain, Canada, Europe and elsewhere sending respectful, well-reasoned letters expressing the same democratic concern.

One letter may be ignored.

A critical mass of peaceful, coordinated civic voices is much harder to ignore.

So please, don’t just complain.

Write your letter.

Spend two hours worth of work shift.

Spend the postage.

Make your voice count.

Ask the United States to use its influence to support the Nigerian people’s right to a credible, peaceful and transparent 2027 election.

🇳🇬 Nigeria belongs to all of us—including those of us who live abroad.

THE TIME IS NOW.
Oh you are calling on Trump and US to reject any candidate in next years election other than Obi emerging the winner.

Have you finished writing to UN to get Finland to free Simon Ekpa ?

Why Is the U.S. Building Its Largest Consulate in Nigeria While Tightening Visa Restrictions?
The U.S. is building its largest consulate in the world in Nigeria, at Eko Atlantic, Lagos, on 12.2 acres of land at a cost of over half a billion dollars.

At the same time the U.S is imposing stricter visa restrictions and enforcement measures on Nigerians.

So what exactly is the strategic logic in building the worlds largest consulate in Nigeria while simultaneously trying to reduce the volume of visa and consular services it provides to Nigerians to the barest minimum?

The project is a $537 million, 10-storey complex on 12.2 acres and is intended to become the largest U.S. consulate in the world. Construction was still ongoing in early 2026. Here are photos/renderings of the planned U.S. Consulate General at Eko Atlantic, Lagos
The contract predates Trump and was awarded by the Biden WH.

In typical Trump corruption, he won't cancel it but expand on it and get more funding on the project so as to squeeze his own share from the contractors.
