I

Honestly, I get worried over how some of you reason.
Your hatred for IGBOS, wouldn't help you at all.
I don't support anything done outside the law, to remove any government.
It's like Yorubas are afraid to confront and face the North on any issues in this country. Face the people, who made Tinubu president and want also to remove him one- one
Timi Priye Silva. Provided the money needed, you didn't talk to him, the Northeners, who where the main ring leaders, you never addressed them, but ordinary actor who was lured into this act, whom the IGBOS never sat down one day to mandate to lead them in this act, has been an avenue to attack the whole of S'EAST.
Something must be wrong with some of you. Face him and not the IGBOS, go through the comment section, it's all about derogatory statement against the IGBOS, who knew nothing about this, neither were in support of his actions
If the coup had succeeded, will he have been the one that will be made the president or head of state? This is just crazy of you people
Treat him as an individual and let the IGBOS be.
What is this one saying?

The retired General behind the plot who happens to be a northerner has since been arrested and is undergoing trial in a criminal court alongside other civilians implicated in the plot.

The Brig General that was leading the plot has been arrested alongside several serving senior, mid ranking and junior officers mostly from the north arrested and are being prosecuted in a military court.

Who is afraid of who?

You think Tinubu is a coward like you guys that when a northerner slaps you, you run and drag a Yoruba man?

Amadi is not the only one to have his own version of the coup plot and his involvement published .

A serving Major also made a statement to the military court he is being prosecuted in on how he got involved in the coup.

Prior to this a civilian working for Julius Berger and posted to the Villa as a grounds man was also arrested and his version of events was first published long before Amadi's own you are reading here.

You guys need to stop this crap and know now that Yorubas are not cowards and the man Tinubu don chop enough winch to fear any bagga.

Facts.

The man was spitting facts

Giringori has nothing to offer .

He only criticizes without providing a solution and he has even confessed that he doesn't know the problems facing Nigeria and Nigerians until he is allowed to be President

That is an apprentice talking and in no way an intellectual.

Will you allow an apprentice to work on your car ?

No.

Also the man rightly pointed about Giringori's unabashed tribalism .

Besides, didn't Tinubu and APC claim there was nothing like a coup attempt?

I thought you said the north love Tinubu so much, why did they plan a coup to get rid of him?
My friend, the case of the Julius Berger staff who happens to be from Edo state was the first to be released.

Just a few days back , a Major who was arrested for being part of the coup also had his own version published.

E reach your Amadi turn you begin cry tribalism.

Amadi will spend the rest of his life in prison for his role in attempting to overthrow our democracy.

Each and every one of the conspirators is being trialed in court .

A Major involved in the coup has also stated his own reasons for how he got involved in the coup.

How can a people with their own internal discriminatory caste system be accommodating to outsiders?

In your very own village you discriminate amongst yourselves over this same generational caste system that denies those on the bottom rung not to hold any public or cultural position and barr intermarriages between castes.

You still have the open discrimination against Abakaleke people whom you all consider as inferior or not original Ibos.

Even between your villages , communal clash is rife.

How then can you be accommodating to outsiders ?

1. The suspect right to dignity is infringed.
How?
He confessed to be a kidnapper . If he had shut his mouth and refused to give any statement and the police still went on to publish his image and video of him on a hospital bed as a prime suspect, that's when his right to dignity has been breached. But in this case he freely confessed to the crime and implicated his accomplices .

2. It undermine the mean of investigation in security terms of making it conceal and secret aka or more formal confidential
This is not making any sense. You will need to elaborate on this because it's all mouth salad gibberish.

3. Police Social Media Policy clearly states no officer is allowed to speak to the public, interogate a suspect in the public and finally post police confidentiality in public unless the PPRO.
And what makes you conclude that this video was not a snippet of a broader press release by the PPRO?
Was the YT account we just viewed belonging to any member of the Nigerian Police ?

4. Under police Act and Regulations the word and action of investigation is confidential i.e secret unless the matter is charged to court then if the court decides they can make it public through the release of police investigation report
Horse shit.

5. Nollywood, Hollywood, Bollywood etc acts movies base on the practical reality on ground and hired best professionals for guidance in rules so if you see American films doing so know that that is how their police behaves in real life.
And Superman and Spiderman are real because Hollywood made a movie of them.

6. What I am saying is the international best practice of policing and security guidance to investigation all over the world.
Citation needed or I see another bs.

Keeping on deviating instead to learn when last did you see police in Nigeria or security personnel parading suspects with their faces shown? Secondly our borne of argument is whether the police interogating the suspect in the public and still posting it in the social media is professional and did not breach the police code of conduct. But because you don't want to learn you kept on dragging issues with half baked information instead of you to call any police and ask or use Google to search...
This is part of a wider investigation to gather statement from one of the suspects to name other members of his gang that are either in detention , at large or the lone one shot dead.

So there's no need to hide his face and are you aware if the suspect willingly cooperated with the police after being read his rights before the interrogation ?

The police must have had good reason to have his face in full view because as you can see from that video the suspect was in severe pains from his gun shot injury and he might not make it.

you want to know go to any Nigeria security agency and ask them about their code of conduct in respect to investigation and concealment and they will answer you properly! For the police it is clearly written in it! Period learn and learn very fast...
I don't even know exactly what you are all riled up on about.

Has this video in anyway jeopardised the police investigation and eventual prosecution of the suspect?

In one breadth you are criticizing the police for releasing this video and in another you are more sympathetic to the suspect and his rights being breached.

Now I ask you, how has this video jeopardised the Police case against this particular suspect who freely confessed and gave out the identities of his accomplices?

This to me has strengthened the investigation against other suspects both in detention and at large and the lone one that was shot dead by the police.

And also, I want to know how the suspect's rights have been breached.

If you are his lawyer and you bring his confessional video as inadmissable due to the police making it public before the trial and that it infringed on his rights to a fair trial and his own constitutional rights, you must be able to demonstrate in court how this is the case and which rights were abused by the police and how the video of his confession has jeopardised his case.

At no time have you made a cogent argument to support these claims other than referencing what you assume is the case abroad via what you have viewed from Hollywood crime movies.

Now tell us in clear terms what rights of the suspect did the police breach.

Apart from the jury system you made mentioned to protect his basic human rights the borne of contention here is apparently the professionalism of the officer asking him sensitive questions in public and posting it online that is not done in the police anywhere in the world that is why all over the world police have there secret investigation room! And it is totally out of bounds for anybody including some police officers!
Which human rights is being violated here?

The police releasing his confessional statement to the public has not in anyway breached his rights.

He has implicated himself through that confessional statement but that doesn't translate to his rights being breached.

Can you tell me how his rights were breached and which one exactly ?

when ignorance is bliss abuse is inevitable... You don't know you don't know... Stop defending your ignorance with bolded vains in your neck!

Police is an organize force with protocols and tenets. When you see a police release a press briefing it is the work of a PPRO and no an IPO or faceless officer like we see here and in most a times there must be journalists to ask questions. And most importantly not in the hospital... So please do the calms and learn...

Secondly, any where in the world once a police wants to make a press briefing and tell the public the indebt of their progress made in an investigation for them to help them arrest the fleeing suspects is when they have tried to do that in secret and it did not work! and not when a suspect is in the hospital you are interviewing him and posting it online this is not policing this is unprofessionalism.

And finally common sense should have let you know that security investigation in general term is a conceal action and not a public display like a content creator trying to generate traffic in the Internet. Thanks and God bless you as you read to learn...
And what made you assume that this video is not a snippet of a much broader police briefing to the public that was released by the force PPRO?

Have you considered that for once?

My problem with Nigeria is that they either argue to have something to say even when they know nothing about or because they want to circumvent the truth for their personal gains! The general rule of the police is not to make investigation public in other for it not to be truncated... That is why police says their investigation is confidential including the room or gadgets are restricted this not applicable to the police alone but almost all security agencies in the world.

Secondly, arresting a suspect of public interest and parading them in the public or social media is different from what we are seeing here and that is done by the PPRO and even the PPRO does that after gathering facts and having positive and remarkable achievements of up to 70%. No police officer including the IPO can conduct this gross unprofessionalism seeing here... What is investigation it is the process of unraveling the truth and it is done in concealment.

The Police normal press briefing and release would have been coded would have been centered on only the arrested suspect and will continue to say in a coded and encrypted manner that other suspects are still at large with force intensifying its efforts to arrest them.

And finally it is only when the suspects are not arrested after all necessary efforts that they will be declared wanted by the police through the PPRO for the public to help them out in bringing them to justice and not madness and unprofessionalism displayed here by this security agent.
You are just spewing trash

I have already answered you on another post here.

Police reports will eventually be gathered as evidence to prosecute a suspect in public court.

There's no secrecy or confidentiality unless to protect an underaged victim or a confidential informant .

You have no case whatsoever.

The suspect has confessed to be part of a criminal kidnapping unit .

He made his confession from a hospital bed were he was obviously recieving treatment for a gun shot wound.

The police decided to take his confessional statement via video that also implicated other suspects arrested and at large .

This is normal procedure because the suspect can die from his wounds and so the police had to secure his statement and confession in the event he dies.

You have no case.

Finally, if the person recording the suspect is not a security agent then himself needs to be arrested for making confidential investigation public!
What nonsense are you spewing?

Police the world over release information gathered from an ongoing investigation to the public to get more leads .

The police usually release details of an arrested suspect who is believed to have been behind a crime spree so that victims can come forward to identify the suspect .

This happens with serial rapists when caught and are suspected to have been behind several other rape incidences .

Police investigation reports are not confidential as they will be used in a court to prosecute a suspect.

The police might choose to keep the information gathered from an ongoing investigation private so as not to tip off a main suspect and to build a proper case in court.

In the same US you are referencing, the Police department hold regular press conferences to notify the public on an ongoing investigation that is of particular public concern.

There's nothing confidential about a police report because it's final report will serve as the main evidence in a public court to try a suspect.

You didn't read my earlier post.
Even an Act of the NASS isn't binding if it affects the rights given by the constitution.
That's why the court do yank off some parts of laws by NASS when challenged.
Therefore, in this case, such bylaw is illegal, but nothing can be done if not challenged in court
Very correct that's why legislative process must consider first and foremost individual rights when enacting laws .

Do these sadistic tyrants have the powers to control the personal activities of students outside campus ?

What if they wake up tomorrow and decide that all students must not leave the campus grounds for whatsoever reason?

Do they have such powers to restrict student liberties and movement ?
