That is, you are pricing crude at the point of production/lifting.

Spot prices are more immediate with orders made for crude already lifted and searching for a buyer.

Prior, the future prices and spot prices were not very far apart but with the impasse with the straits of Hormuz with little or no tanker traffic loading from the ME, spot prices have soared higher than crude futures.

A better scenario was when we had subsidy regime in place but hardly any fuel at the filling stations as black marketers were hoarding and diverting the fuel supplied .

So instead of buying from filling station at govt set prices, which you won't be able for reasons above you will patronise black marketers at 3-4 times the cost set .

Trump is the one forcing Oil future prices not to face reality of 30% inventory taken out from global supply and he is also draining the US strategic reserves to make up for the shortfall so that US pump prices don't hit $10 a gallon.

But this isn't possible for most countries in SE Asia and India especially that have to now buy crude from Russian shadow tankers at prices fat higher than crude futures prices.

And note that, no one in Jew York trading crude futures ever takes delivery. It's like trading paper or digital gold . Traders never take delivery and only sell their receipts when the prices are high enough for a profit or they sell when prices are crashing.

It's all smokes and mirrors.

I think most governors are managing to just pay salaries (and to be honest, education is subsidised in all states, otherwise, university fees would be around 10 million naira or more in even state universites) and are managing to do some projects.

The problem is, and you wont agree with me, is that Nigeria is not earning enough money

FIrst noticed the same issues under GEJ. We had a lot of money from oil, yet not enough to pay universites 3 trillion over 2 years, and to even keep on increasing funding beyond that.

That's the problem hidden in plain sight.

Plus why should the governor only pay Aba's debts...what about the rest of the state? That's going to cause a lot of problems down the road fiscally.

During the time of fuel subsidy,it is the same mentality that jeopardized that agenda while other nations were subsidising expensive good such as fuel,food,medicines and even electricity but it got to Nigeria,it is either one problem today,another tomorrow and so on.

The same officer called me in to see her and after that,they told that it was 400k and that male officer asked me to call him in the evening and I wonder why and he said,he wanted to discuss something with me, I called as he said.

He started telling why I should do it in a private hospital where the cost was even higher than the teaching hospital and I wonder the kind country we are building for the next generation.
