PoliticsRe: Police Contact Banks In Search For Lawan’s $620,000 Bribe by fstranger6: 4:33am On Jun 19, 2012
Kobojunkie: Now I am beginning to doubt there was a 'sting' to begin with.
What will you not doubt? I am sure you sometimes doubt your own humanity, no?

Why in the world would the Police use MARKED DOLLAR NOTES for a sting, and somehow forget to make sure they can easily TRACE THE NOTES?
What is marked is the serial number of the money. It is not as if there is some chip embedded to make it electronically traceable or some chemical sprayed on it that makes it glow automatically. There are no GPS involved here.

It has been about 2 months since the 'sting', yet the best our cops have to do is SEARCH BANKS for the missing notes? shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked undecided undecided undecided undecided
WHere else do you want them to search? under his pillow? Not everyone has a wide a/s/s to stuff money into like your awesome self. All they can do is search banks, after all, he must have deposited the money somewhere and the money mixed up with some other money in the bank for only god knows where destination. Chillax okay . . . why are you so in a hurry? Them taking their time to do a thorough job doesnt affect your SSI or unemployment one bit. Let them do their job while you continue to post trash on NL like you always do. if you could do better, you wouldnt be here on NL with your senseless posts, you'd actually be somewhere doing some real work.

Whoever heard of a party as a business entity. Prediction: something really bad is going to happen in the country soon, if this madness doesn't put its hands inside its mother's cloth.
So what is wrong with that? What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Whatever your Ashiwaju can do, PDP can do it 10x better.

You know what? He is not talking about the success of the Nigerian nation - but the kind of ability-to-loot success that PDP has.

So who has something to offer, AD? ACN? ADCN? ACDN? Ashiwaju's company of Nigeria? Aregbesola?

SEFAGO: Nigerians are hilarious man

They all wanna claim to be in one way or form linked to Egypt. The Edo too lol while they consider the Yoruba Far-East Story a myth too.

LOL. Now I understand why Yoruba people consider this an agenda. It seems like the Bini are not so different from Yoruba afterall, they possess some sort of wacked superego, and they just wanna claim divinity and uniqueness.

Abeg people should also focus on the Benin written history that there kings descended from some anthromorphic God
Thats the only reason you wrote this post. Admit it Bi/t/c/h!
PoliticsRe: Reps Suspend Lawan, Order Anti-graft Agencies To Investigate Otedola’s Firm by fstranger6: 3:45am On Jun 16, 2012
koruji: There you go again. Justice has no meaning to you, I think.
Is that what you call this debacle? Justice? Justice even without a court involved. Hmm interesting. What a great OAU product you are. Another reason why to not send my kids to OAU.

If Otedola has done anything wrong he won't be the one to expose it publicly or call the SSS to come into his house to record the giving/taking of bribes.
So if thief A cooperates with authorities to implicate thief B, that makes thief A a pope? I am impressed by your great analytic skills. This post is just what you'd expect from a proud OAU alum. smfh

Farouk seems to have only himself to blame here, and the real victim, at least in this instance, is Otedola.
And you came to this conclusion because you have all the facts of the case already? Who are you? Obama?

He was the one that was unduly being threatened with legislative power, and again at least in this case, did the right thing.
How can you threaten someone with legislative power. I thought legislators make law, not threaten people? Is that what they taught you at OAU? that legislators wake up everyday looking for rich people to threaten? Pray tell, how did farook threaten otedola?

Whistle blowers are to be encouraged, not punished, unless & until it can be proved that they were perpetrators. There is no evidence of the latter in the case of Otedola here.
Otedola is now a whistle blower? Not some corrupt, ugly mofo who got this far because of his famous last name. Interesting! If our so called OAU educated semi-illiterate elite can think like this, then there is no hope for the rest of us uneducated folks. We are doomed!

Kilode?!:
I'm rewinding this thread in light of recent developments. Now that Farouk's name has officially changed to Facroook, it's important that we read Adeyeye's ideas again.

I have very little faith in current Nigerian legislators.
Did you mean you have very little faith in Nigerians? Because I see no difference between Nigerians and "Nigerian legislators." They are all Nigerians.

But still, it will be great if this case can educate more Nigerians on the reason why our politics is dysfunctional, and show us how we can fix it by paying attention to the House of Assembly.
Making it sound like this is an isolated case. . . grin I have news for you, IT IS NOT. Corruption is in our blood! The notion that somewhow we ALL need to stop having s/e/x/ because someone, a prominent member of the society, is accused of hiding money in his babariga is just absurd. This post is an example of what is wrong with us as a people, especially the internet warriors. A glaring example of the follow-follow mindset of our so called educated youth. It is just an accusation, we all need to phocking chillax and let the authorities do their job. Until a guilty verdict is rendered, your "Mr. Facrook" is just as innocent as your homeboy Sola Adeyeye who your naively continue to uphold as the epitome of sainthood. It is just a matter of time before he is exposed, like the rest of us them Babariga wearing, irugbon-growing legislooters . grin

An assembly of unanimous nays and yeas cannot deliver robust politicking, worse when that assembly is dominated year in year out by a single political party.
Again, robust politicking isnt about party affiliation/dominance. Its about IDEAS; Original, creative, and progressive ideas. We need good policies, not multiple parties. Bola Ige wrote the the manifestos for PDP, ACN and ANPP, the rest simply copied from the three main parties. Simply stated, with respect to their outlook, THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. So what good is it to have them all scattered based on ethnicity. We might as well have them all under one umbrella.

I guess Adeyeye saw it coming, a corrupt legislature tied to the apron strings of a corrupt executive cannot fight any battle on behalf of the people that RIGGED THEM them IN.
Fixed!.

Now Tambuwal and his band of thieves are asking the (police) and executive to prosecute oil subsidy thieves
Now what do you want Tambuwal to do? Never mind, he is a thief . . . lets just give him the Bankole treatment. Crucify him before he gets his day in court. That is how real democracy is practiced.

Question: Does the HOA have the collective balls to challenge or compel the executive to do anything without succumbing to the temptation of $$bribes and Ghana-must-go Bags ??
HOA compelling the President to do something? What kind of democracy is that?

I hope Adeyeye and others like him can get more like-minded folks to stand with them.
More like-minded people like Farook of six months ago? or more like-minded people like Adeyeys of 2 years from now. Pick your poison, but be very very careful . . . grin
PoliticsBolaji Bello Replaces Aruma Oteh As Acting DG Of SEC by fstranger6(op): 2:13am On Jun 16, 2012
Nigeria: FG Appoints Bolaji Bello Acting DG of SEC

The federal government has announced the appointment of a new acting director-general of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He is Mr Bolaji Ibrahim Bello.

Coordinating minister for the economy and minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who announced the appointment in Abuja, yesterday, said Bello would resume office on Monday.

The minister also announced the dissolution of the current board of the SEC following the expiration of their tenure today, thus putting to rest speculation of tenure elongation by the affected commissioners and chairman of the board.

"From Monday, with the permission of Mr President, one of the senior directors, by name Bolaji Ibrahim Bello, has been appointed as acting director-general. He is presently the director in charge of Finance and Administration," she said, adding: "In the meantime, the DG is on leave, though the exact duration is not expected to last very long. A timeline of three weeks has been given to the committee to complete its audit."

LEADERSHIP checks reveal that the board has appointed Price Water Coupers, one of the leading audit firms in the country to conduct an independent investigation into the sources and utilisation of funds for the "Project 50" programme carried out by the commission. The auditors have four weeks to complete their work and submit their report.

"There would be absolutely no tenure elongation. The three Commissioners and the Chairman who are billed to leave tomorrow (today) are leaving on schedule.

"I want to use this opportunity to thank the board, the chairman, Senator Udo Udoma, for the service they have rendered. We look forward to constituting a new board and we also look forward to the report of the audit that the board has ordered," she said.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP yesterday, a close source in the commission who did not want his name mentioned said the board members, who sat on Monday where the decision to ask Oteh to proceed on compulsory leave, would exit the board by today.

The SEC source said that out of the three most senior commissioners which include commissioner of operations, Ms. Daisy Ekineh commissioner, Legal and enforcement, C.A Udora; and commissioner of finance and admin, L. S. Stores, two of them have spent about 20 years within the system, just as they assumed office in June 2008 for a four-year tenure that expires today.

The board of SEC, at its 66th meeting held on June 11, 2012, had directed Oteh to proceed on compulsory leave to enable an independent investigation to be undertaken in respect of the "Project 50" programme which was carried out by the commission in 2011. The executive commissioner (Operations), Ms. Daisy Ekineh, was asked to act in her absence.

The decision of the board was arrived at after consideration of the report of its audit and finance committee which had been directed to investigate the sources and uses of funds for the "Project 50" event.

18 Nigerian professors were called to sit in an airplane.
When they all sat and the airplane was about to take off,
they were informed that the plane was made by their
own students comprising of Ajanlekoko, Oyb, Gbawe, and all the 2:2 graduates on this thread
All of them quickly ran out of the plane leaving 1 man
who was sitting confidently. Onlookers asked him why he was still in the airplane.
He said, if this plane was made by these dullards, trust me,
it wont even start

I think I agree with the professor
EducationRe: What Influenced Your Choice Of Course In School? by fstranger6: 11:34pm On Jun 11, 2012
dayokanu: Mine was funny.e

My mom wanted me to study medicine, My Dad wanted me to study Electrical Engineering.
Interesting!

My choice was influenced by the desire to be far from home Lagos or Ibadan.

When i was writing UME in 1995, I wanted to Choose Petrochemical Engineering in UNIPORT and my dad was against it cos its too far away and I told him I would never go to UNILAG or UI where my parents can just walk into my room anytime they wanted.

So a compromise based on distance has to be reached I wanted far(UNIPORT or UNIBEN), My parents wanted nearby(UI or UNILAG) so we chose IFE which was midpoint.
Funny how people's stories are so similar.

Also choice of course. I hated medicine cos it involves blood and you working at odd hours. Also it was the Effikos and born again that were always studying Medicine and Pharmacy, The cool guys were always in Engineering And I believe even till now that Engineers are the smartest people around. So In Secondary school all the cool guys filled in Engineering and the Born-agains filled in for medicine.
I have seen both sides and I dont think that is true. .

To choose the particular Engineering course, my dad insisted on Electrical and Electronics, I wanted Chemical Engineering, So when my dad was at home I filled Electrical but when he went to work, I changed it to Chemical Engineering and submitted it before he came back from work.
I wish I was this strong/brave when I was filling out my JAMB form.

When results came out and he saw it was Chemical I told him I changed it and That was what I wanted. We fought over it and I won at the end.

Graduated as a Chemical Engineer from ife
Mine would have killed me.
