Someone should be talking to us by now after this report |
To be honest and dispassionately I loved the man Sanusi, former CBN governor, for his courage and audacity and temerity when he blew the whistle that so $49,000,000,000.00 was either missing, misappropriated or outrightly stolen from Nigerians by a few corrupt gov't officials at the NNPC and Petroleum Resources ministry. Quickly I brought out my scientific calculator and with an exchange rate of #160 = $1, I arrived at #7,840,000,000,000.00(seven trillion, eight hundred and fourty billion naira) and I wept for this country when I imagined how many almajiri model schools, hospitals, roads, power infrastructures, university hostels and lecture halls we could have built; I concluded that Sanusi should be given the award of whistle blower and the most courageous man of the year. I supported all Nigerians, CSOs , other Groups and the APC for a thorough probe and even went as far as calling some people( names withheld) names too. I was one of such one who never believed in the SENATE PROBE as it was headed by same thieving politicians and concluded that nothing scathing and indicting will come out of it and as such when PWC started making the rounds, I was elated and expectant that NNPC can never come out alive and remain same again( with PWC I expected heads to roll). So, I welcomed the announcement of PRICE WATERHOUSE COOPER, PWC( a better and more reputable international firm) to investigate the alledged fraud by the NNPC and the Petroleum ministry and for once shame the FG cover-ups on the NNPC at the expense of Nigerians. After PWC concluded their investigation and submitted their report to the President where they said that no $49Billion was missing but that the NNPC still has some $1.48Billion to remit to the federation account left me with ill feelings about Sanusi and others. I had been misled? Was the question I asked myself. So I was expecting a statement of rebuttal from Sanusi, APC and others to allay my fears but none came. Days past now and I have not heard from Sanusi, CSOs, other Groups and the APC denounce or refute or reject or issue a statement to the contrary on the PWC report on our alledged missing billions of dollars and now, it is going into weeks; soon months and nothing. Then, may I conclude thus: that Sanusi and APC and others have accepted the PWC report that no $49Billion is missing. Considering the tension this generated in the country that led to Sanusi's suspension and the name-calling from the APC and others, portraying Nigeria in bad light in the international community, especially the President, I see no other reason why Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and others, ESPECIALLY THE APC should not apologise to ME and other Nigerians who were hoodwinked and deceived and might have experience one form of trauma for this. He/they is/are simply a/are.....? 1. Propagandist(s) 2. Liar(s) 3. Deceiver(s) 4. Exploitationist(s) 5. Gallery-playing-man/party So when Prof. Soludo came with his missing trillions story, I simply jettisoned it and moved on because.... |
donpeey22:Please Chief can you help me too? olala.jt@gmail.com Will appreciate it too. |
harde2lah:Please do not derail and BE OBJECTIVE - do you know that #20,000 in the 80s is over #1,000,000 today? What am saying is that cost things were soft then - meaning if they had little resources at their disposal, they could have still delivered if they wanted to. Do not compare apple with orange. DO YOU KNOW THAT former Rivers state governor Peter Odili received #708,000,000.000.00(BILLION) in his 8yrs WHILE CURRENT governor Chibuike Amaechi has so far received over #2,000,000,000,000.00(TRILLION). Same with Tinubu and Fashola. My point: cost of governance, building 1km road, buying planes, railways, funding education and health sectors, funding the police and military and civil service, years ago have all increased and so is OUR population today. Whatever we received then was enough for us as a country or state to develope at our own pace but I guess corruption, nepotism, inefficiency, etc is the bane of our development . I Bought 3cubes of sugar for 50kobo years ago but how much today? Coke? Didn't buy choko milo sweets then and now? |
Ok |
So how about now with the elections around the corner; who is sticking to the ethics of the profession? |
san316:Hahahaha |
All the heightened tension in the land is now calm thanks to Jega for the new date. I asked my Corper friend in Benue about this and he said same thing is being experienced there too. BPs are now coming down since the postponement. |
I am really feeling the impact of this postponement or are you saying you are not? |
1 Ayakpo ComprehensiveThanks! Will check them out. |
Hmmm! |
Please kindly send to olala.jt@gmail.com |
LRNZH:I agree with you but do you think politicians care about our interests? Let me cite an example: during protests, do you see their children, wives, relatives on the street? |
Descartes:That is true and good point of REF. Would prefer Jega is left alone to finish what he started but if he is found wanting and compromised, then he has no business at the helms of INEC. |
Descartes:That is true and good point |
Collynzo9:Hmmm! Used to think its 6years since that is what some of us have been fed with long a time now. However, I have decided to do the calculation myself after seeing this thread. Assuming we calculate from GEJ's acting days to date: Feb 2010 - Feb 2015 = 5years today. Is my maths good or am I wrong? Please do your own maths too let's confirm. |

citizenY:Hmmm |
OluBendel:Hahaha |
espn:Ah ah my brother! Do not drag us through that road nah. They have been warning us about several attacks before this, and taking note of this one won't bite me especially this period - only tells me to be extra careful. ESPECIALLY FOR OUR BROS AND SISs IN THE NORTH |
berem:It will be well that day even in the north. No to electoral violence and bombing before, during and after the elections. |
Secure your polling units against 'would-be bombers' by being extra VIGILANT and report stolen PVC cases to security agencies. |
Young women beware of your PVCs against theft before THE D DAY |
The Federal Government has raised alarm today over plans by the Boko Haram sect to attack polling units during this month’s general election. It said the sect has perfected plans to collect, buy or steal the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) of female voters, give them to female suicide bombers to pave way for them to carry out their deadly activities during the elections. The Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, stated this while briefing journalists alongside security officers at the centre in Abuja. He urged Nigerians, especially female voters to be mindful of their PVCs to ensure that they don’t get into the hands of bad elements. “By this information, therefore, Nigerians, especially female voters, are warned to remain vigilant and also jealously guard and preserve their PVCs to avoid the possibility of their being lost to these bad elements who will put them to untoward uses,” he said. Speaking on the 7,500 African Union-backed multinational force, Omeri said the force is composed of troops from countries in the Lake Chad Basin Commission areas. . .. . www.lailasblog.com/2015/02/boko-haram-plans-to-bomb-polling.html?m=1

The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has invited Mujaheed Asari-Dokubo, an ex-Niger Delta militant, over his recent inflammatory statements. Asari-Dokubo alongside some ex-militants have threatened to unleash violence on the country if President Goodluck Jonathan, who hails from the region, is not re-elected into office. But speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Marilyn Ogar, spokeswoman of the security agency, said that the DSS has invited Dokubo on several occasions. “Asari-Dokubo has been brought into the office of the DSS, a couple of times. It is not in the position of the office to begin to tell you who has been brought in or who has not been brought in,” Ogar said. “The operational procedures that we take after we have issued out warnings, we do not make them public. We still stand by our words that whoever in any way would want to interfere or interrupt the peace that prevails, he or she would definitely be dealt with.” Some Nigerians, including elderstatesman, Theophilus Danjuma, have recently condemned the pronouncements of the ex-militants on the election, calling on security agencies to call them to order. . . www.thecable.ng/ogar-dss-summoned-dokubo-times |

They will continue with their lies against God's people since it did not start 10years ago. Always ask this question: AMONG THE FIRST CENTURY EARLY CHRISTIANS APOSTLES WHICH OF THEM PARTICIPATED IN THE WORLD'S POLITICAL AFFAIRS-Paul, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, Timothy, Philip and the rest. Even the scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ withdrew when the people wanted to make him king( Matthew 6:15), so why did he not accept to be made king? Why? Please also READ UP DANIEL 2:44 and find out the prophecy that awaits these present political leaders and why any support to this present world leaders runs foul of the new heavens and new earth that christians await(2Peter 3:9,13). Know also that as long as humans continue to look up to their political leaders rather than Jehovah God for direction, the more problems and complain they get because man was not created to lead, guide or direct himself( Jeremiah 10:23). Did God not tell us not to put our trusts in these people to whom salvation does not belong? please READ UP PSALMS 146 3-5. Jehovah's Witnesses observe Jesus' words to his followers: “You are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”— John 15:19. Some who used to preach politics have changed after making a careful study of the Bible. An Italian politician who was a member of Catholic Action, a church-controlled organization, said: “I went on to politics, feeling that a person should contribute actively to the political and social development of society.” After resigning as city mayor in order to preach God’s Kingdom as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he explained why the efforts of sincere people in politics fail. “The world is what it is, not because decent people have not tried to better social conditions, but, rather, because the sincere efforts of the few have been overcome by the wickedness of the many.” CONCUSION: the only solution to mankind's problem is God's kingdom and not any political leader today or tomorrow( Matthew 6:33). The world is passing away...including the nobles and political leaders...but ONLY THOSE WHO PUT THEIR TRUST IN JEHOVAH will live forever( 1 John 2:17; PSALMS 37:29). |
