@caseless, do you not think that an organization such as OPEC with distinguished members also have these allegedly indictive reports? Yet they went ahead with reposed confidence and elected her? We Nigerians arghh! This is neither a PDP or APC appointment but for all Nigerians. If it were to be a national one then we could say this and that and blame one another. However, it is an international appointment given to a Nigerian just like the ones given to former WORLD BANK MD and VP, Okonjo and Oby respectively. Case closed |
It seems she is only going higher and places against all odds |
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has been elected the first female president of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). Alison-Madueke was elected President of OPEC Thursday at the ongoing 166th General Meeting of the body in Vienna, Austria. She replaces former President of OPEC, Libyan Vice Prime Minister for Corporations, Abdourhman Atahar Al-Ahirish. She was before her election this morning the alternate president of OPEC and is expected to immediately begin to serve her one-year term at the helm of OPEC affairs. OPEC is expected to at the 166th meeting, take key decisions that could halt the dwindling price of crude oil. Al-Ahirishhad in his opening remarks before the closed door meeting stated that ample supply, moderate demand, a stronger US dollar and uncertainties about global economic growth have been key factors in the recent price trend. . www.thisdaylive.com/articles/petroleum-minister-alison-madueke-elected-first-opec-female-president/195193/

Am visiting a friend in Bayelsa state presently, but for the past two days the MTN network has been down. The name of the community is OTUASEGA in OGBIA LGA. Am currently relying on my GLO LINE to reachout. What is the problem with MTN here in Otuasega? |
We are very far from peace in Nigeria yet very nigh to a global PEACE from God's Chosen One. Be firm! |
With no compromise in sight from both PDP and the APC, it seems none is prepared to take prisoners after this political war is fought and won come 2015. |
Hmm may Jah save us from these PDP and APC looming wars. |
Femi Fani-Kayode THE POT-BELLIED CREEK HARAMITE AND HIS DIRECT THREAT ''In 2015 if we do not win we will make the country ungovernable. We will form a parallel government''- Governor Rotimi Amaechi. It is time for the President to take off the kid gloves and put this pot-bellied little monkey in his place. Once a houseboy, always a houseboy. Once a cult member always a cult member. Once a peasant, always a peasant. If Rotimi and his Haramite friends are looking for trouble then we should give it to them in full measure. It would be a pleasure. Anytime a cockroach shows it's head it ought to be crushed. Treason is a very serious business and the brazen attempt to incite others to destroy our country, make it ungovernable and kill our people is even more serious. Have they and their Haramite army and secret military wing not killed enough people already in the last 3 years? Whichever way they wish to play it and whatever they want to do we are ready for them this time. It will not be a one way slaughter anymore. If they kill our people after they lose in 2015 there will be swift, decisive and severe consequences. Let this young man Rotimi and those that are using him prepare himself for the consequences of their madness. In 2010 they told the world that they would make Nigeria ''ungovernable'' if they lost the 2011 election and since then Nigeria has not known peace. Now they are saying it again. This time around our reaction will not be passive. The only way you can fight madness is with an equal measure of madness. The only way you can defeat a bully is by mustering the resolve to face him down. The only way you can defeat a terrorist who delights in shedding blood is to visit him with a much higher level of violence and terror. They will not kill our people and get away with it anymore. From now on it will be blood for blood. It will be an eye for an eye and may God help us all. . https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10202589555849544&id=1516216357&refid=28&_ft_=qid.6084048937160534813%3Amf_story_key.3889963705104622999&__tn__=%2As |

Lulu-Briggs applauds cancellation of Rivers PDP congresses A Rivers State governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has commended the national leadership of the party for cancelling the ward congresses of the party in the state. Lulu-Briggs is one of the governorship aspirants that called on the party’s national leadership of the party to cancel the ward congresses, which were boycotted by some aspirants due to perceived irregularities. In a statement by his media aide, Al-Humphrey Onyanabo, on Monday, Lulu-Briggs said that for equity sake, it would be in the best interest of the PDP to adopt zoning as a criterion for choosing its governorship candidate. He said, “I must congratulate the national executive of our great party, the PDP, for having the boldness to do the right thing. It took a lot of courage but then, I have always known that our party, the PDP, will do the right thing. The PDP has a great internal democracy mechanism that has always helped us to resolve issues; that is the strength of our party. “From the onset the majority of Rivers people were against the ward congresses because we felt a lot of things had not been put in place and it was, therefore, like putting the cart before the horse – to have a ward congress when a party register was not in place. But certain persons felt they had the powers to go ahead despite our protest and today, the congresses have been cancelled. Those ward congresses were a sham. “Also, don’t forget that President Goodluck Jonathan will not allow impunity to occur within the party in Rivers because he wants the best for the state.” The aspirant said the upland parts of the state had produced governors for two consecutive terms of eight years each, adding that it would be unfair to the people of the waterside to be denied again in 2015. . www.punchng.com/politics/lulu-briggs-applauds-cancellation-of-rivers-pdp-congresses/ |

Femi Fani-Kayode A GREAT DAY It was a great day for us in court today. I give thanks to God. After we made our no case submission I was discharged and acquitted of 38 counts out of the 40 count charges that the EFCC proferred against me a number of years ago. I have been fighting this matter and have waited for this day for the last 7 years when the nightmare first started. God has once again proved how faithful He is to His own by what happened in court today. Only He could have done it. He promised that He would do it and He did it. To Him alone be the glory. Where and how did it all begin? In 2007 after we Left office and the late President Yar'adua became President, the most vicious and insidious campaign of calmuny, misrepresentation, fabrication and persecution was unleashed against those of us that had served President Olusegun Obasanjo's government faithfully, diligently and loyally and that were labelled as ''Obasanjo'' or ''OBJ'' boys. These ''boys'' included Nasir El Rufai, Nuhu Ribadu and a number of others In 2008 the Yar'adua administration alleged that I stole 19.5 billion naira (114 million USD) from the Aviation Intervention Fund when I was Minister of Aviation even though the Senate Aviation Comittee investigated the matter thoroughly in a highly celebrated and well-attended public hearing and gave me a clean bill of health. Despite this the EFCC insisted on conducting their own investigation. After their so-called investigation, they arrested me, detained me illegally for 10 days and imprisoned, humiliated and tortured most of my staff, political associates and appointees. They also purged most of my known loyalists from government positions and went out of their way to destroy them. They charged me to court but it was thrown out and all charges were eventually dropped for lack of evidence. . . Mustapha, a prominent son of a former Vice- President, Atiku Abubakar, has launched an attack on the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, for verbally castigating President Goodluck Jonathan. Amaechi had on Saturday stated that Jonathan should not be referred to as his brother for failing to execute any project in Rivers State. But the ex-VP’s son carpeted Amaechi for making what he called unguarded statements, noting that the governor was not the only one witnessing Jonathan’s alleged incompetence. Accusing Amaechi of criticising Jonathan “irresponsibly” with “no sense of decorum,” Mustapha asked him to take a cue from his colleague and fellow party member in Edo State, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, whom he described as a “mature leader.” Writing on Twitter, Atiku’s son argued that despite Jonathan’s alleged incompetence, the President deserves respect from all governors irrespective of party affiliations. “I remember very well that Amaechi was one of Jonathan’s biggest supporters for a while. Amaechi is not the only one who sees or talks about GEJ’s incompetence, but he’s the one who criticises irresponsibly the most. “But whenever Amaechi takes on the President, he does so with no sense of decorum, which is wrong for a leader. Gov. Oshiomole always accords the President a rousing welcome whenever he visits his state. This is a mature leader,” Mustapha wrote on Twitter. Mustapha, whose father is a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, however, insisted that he had “no love” for Jonathan. According to him, “by the votes of Nigerians and the will of God” Jonathan must return to his country home in Otuoke, Bayelsa State, come 2015. ... www.punchng.com/i-punch/atikus-son-lambasts-amaechi-for-attacking-jonathan/ |

recently, former minister for state education, Nyesom Wike challenged the Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi to a public debate on corruption in the state. Read the challenge thrown at Amaechi here : www.punchng.com/news/wike-challenges-amaechi-to-corruption-debate/ Do you think that this is an opportunity for Amaechi to prove a point on his integrity on his sustained attack on the FG ON CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA? What is your honest opinion: should he accept or not and forever remain silent on corruption issues and name calling in the country? |

The factional leader of the Nigeria Football Federation has insisted the 'Big Boss' is still in charge of the country's senior national team Factional president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Chris Giwa has condemned the decision of the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board to sack Super Eagles' caretaker coach Stephen Keshi and ordered his stay. Keshi was relieved of his job as Super Eagles' coach by the Pinnick-led NFF on Thursday morning with Amodu Shuaibu named as replacement. In a communiqué made available to Goal after its emergency meeting held at Bolingo hotel, Abuja, the Giwa-led NFF group insisted Keshi and his crew will remain in the interest of continuity and described the Pinnick-led board as illegal. "The board resolved after hearing that some people are parading themselves as the NFF board, decided to sack the technical crew of the Super Eagles at a very critical moment," the statement read. "We condemn the act and hereby state that Stephen Keshi remains the head coach of the senior national team and the technical crew remains intact. We condemn the acts of impostors parading themselves as such. . www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4093/nigeria/2014/10/17/5208911/stephen-keshi-remains-eagles-coach-insists-chris-giwas-nff |
TITHING AND THE LAW The commandment to tithe was part of the Law that Jehovah God gave to the 12 tribes of ancient Israel more than 3,500 years ago. That Law decreed that a tenth of the produce of the land and fruit trees and a tenth of the increase of the herds be given to the tribe of Levi in support of their services at the tabernacle.( Leviticus 27:30, 32; Numbers 18:21, 24) Jehovah assured the Israelites that the Law ‘would not be too difficult for them.’ (Deuteronomy 30:11) As long as they faithfully observed Jehovah’s commandments, including tithing, they had his promise of abundant harvests. And as a protection, an additional yearly tithe, normally consumed when the nation met for its religious festivities, was regularly set aside. Thus ‘the alien resident, the fatherless boy, and the widow’ could be satisfied. ( Deuteronomy 14:28, 29; 28:1, 2, 11-14) The Law did not specify a penalty for failing to tithe, but each Israelite was under a strong moral obligation to support true worship in this way. In fact, Jehovah accused Israelites who neglected tithing in Malachi’s day of ‘robbing him in tithes and offerings.’ (Malachi 3:8, New International Version) Could the same charge be leveled at Christians who do not tithe? Well, consider. National laws are not normally valid outside a country’s borders. For example, the law that obliges motorists in Britain to drive on the left does not apply to drivers in France. Similarly, the law requiring tithing was part of an exclusive covenant between God and the nation of Israel. (Exodus 19:3-8; Psalm 147:19, 20) Only the Israelites were bound by that law. In addition, although it is true that God never changes, his requirements sometimes do. (Malachi 3:6) The Bible states categorically that the sacrificial death of Jesus, in 33 C.E., “blotted out,” or “abolished,” the Law and with it the “commandment to collect tithes.”(Colossians 2:13, 14; Ephesians 2:13-15; Hebrews 7:5, 18.) ...........“The military has taken a lot of bashing from everywhere but all of us know what we are going through. Somebody rightly said that what is happening with Boko Haram is a declaration of war. I want to say that when nations go to war, all elements of National power including the media join hands to fight the war together”. “The military is not omnipotent, the military is not omnipresent; are you expecting the military to go and drop a bomb that cost $15, 000 on two people. Let us not give the enemies of Nigeria the chance to make Nigeria become what people (enemies) wanted. We can do this by providing accurate information,” he said. Badeh said the attitude of some Nigerians towards the war on terror suggest that they are against genuine intentions of the military to flush out the terrorists and this gives the impression that they sympathise with Boko Haram insurgency with the aim of destabilising the country. His words, “We know that people do not like the military, but they should realise that we are the ones keeping this country together, and should avoid giving the enemies the opportunity to operate”. Earlier, he told journalists to be guided by national interest while reporting the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North east saying “though you may know many things concerning the operations, you should not report things that would hurt or create panic among the people”. .... www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/insurgency-many-fifth-columnists-military-badeh/ |
