Politics › Re: Has CIA Succeeded In Penetrating Nigeria's Intelligence Agencies? by funlord(m): 6:44am On Dec 18, 2015 |
Decibel: I know that this question may sound ABSURD or FOOLISH to some but one cannot rule out the recent events in the military circles and the entire nation where the Nigerian Military has become a den for trained assassins specialised in gunning down unarmed protesters and civilians.
For example, The shooting of 'IPOB' protesters in Onitsha, The shooting of peaceful Shiit Muslim protesters and destruction of properties worth of billions in Zaria Kaduna state, Unlawful arrest and detention of IPOB leader "Nnamdi Kanu" and brutalization of Shiit Muslim leader El Zakzaky Fulanis herdsmen terror in the south west, The bombing of towns and villages in Calabar cross river state and incessant bokoharam activities in the north.
The question is what's next? Who knows where next these trained assassins in the 'ZOO'gerian military toga will carry out the orders of the powers that be to make sure that their predictions comes to fruition?
Indeed Nigeria as a country has zero intelligence agencies and that's the reasons why other countries in the world are carrying out a superficial espionage on the 'ZOOlogical' Republic with reckless abandon.
Finally DSS and DMI are poos of agencies and in fact a disgrace to every other intelligence agencies around the globe.

Politics › Re: Appreciating The Army-shiite Clash: Nigeria Should Be Extremely Careful by funlord(m): 12:00pm On Dec 16, 2015 |
TonyeBarcanista: The recent face off between the Nigeria Army and the Shiite Islamic Movement has once again exposed the inefficiency of the Army in handling civil 'agitation' by 'harmless' group or groups. The face-off which some people choose to term 'massacre' perpetrated by the army on members of Shiites movement has drawn mixed feelings from members of the society and is threatening the relative peace that exists in Zaria and Kaduna metropolis.
The Story As Reported To those that may not be acquainted with the event, the whole event was reported to have started when members of the islamic movement went on their usual annual procession, causing traffic and obstructing movement. According to what was reported, the Army had tried to 'talk with them' but their reluctance to clear way made the army to open fire(the first shot) on those on procession. The open of fire and killing on members of the sect led to provocations and a second round of series of bullets was reported in Zaria where the army went to arrest the leader of the movement, Sheikh El-Zakzaky. The leader was arrested and blood gushed from his body as a result of the gunshot he received. Several sect members were gunned down by the army among whom were the Deputy leader of the sect, the Spokesperson and wife of the leader. Futhermore, the military destroyed the Holy shrine of the sect and the houses of sect members. I have not heard of any military casualty.
Why The Army Action Cannot Be Justified: An appreciation of the event will point that though the army spokesman 'claimed' that sect members attempted to assassinate the COAS Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, he failed to tell us HOW they intend to achieve it when they were without guns(at parade ground) and they didn't attempt to stab him with knife. Were they trying to strangle him? How possible is that when the COAS move with platora of soldiers that are armed to the teeth? Does the claim of the army make any sense?
Secondly, if the Army Chief claimed to justify their action on the blockade by the marching members of the Islamic sect, is it the gun that should disperse the crowd? What stops the army from calling on the Kaduna state Police Commissioner to direct the Police Area Commander and Divisional Police Officer in the affected area to deploy men of the force that will disperse the crowd while men of the army stay vigilant to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order pending the arrival of men of the Police force? A police action simply require firing of teargas and mass arrest of sect members that will be prosecuted for disturbance of public peace. Why should the men of the army disregard the Nigeria Police just to take laws into their hands by opening fire on civilians?
Thirdly, why did the army lay siege on the house of the sect leader, killing anything and everything that moves including ranking sect members, wounding the sect leader and burning their holy shrine? Is Shiite sect an outlawed group? For Christ sake, neither the man nor his group have ever been linked with any violent agitation against the State since over forty years of the movement. If there was need to arrest Sheikh Zakzaky, why can't they invite him and declare him wanted when he refused to honor the invitation? Is Nigeria now a lawless society where the agents of the State can do as they pleases? Is Nigeria a banana republic without laws? Why destroy the holy shrine of the group? Is the group's shrine cited on illegal land? Isn't that arson perpetrated by the army? The last time I checked, Kaduna state is not under state of emergency. So what justifies the actions of the army?
Action Capable of Radicalising Sect Members: The action of the army is capable of pushing adherent of Sheikh Zakzaky into radicalism and causing problems to the peace of Kaduna people, the North West and the Nigeria State in general. Only last year, the Nigeria army killed the sons of Sheikh Zakzaky while they were on their annual peaceful procession. Recall that Boko Haram took a new twist when the Nigeria police murdered sect leader Muhammed Yusuf in cold blood while in their custody instead of charging him for terrorism before a competent court of justice. Recall that the radicalism of Niger-Delta militants was precipitated by the military hounding of Ogoni youths in 1993-1995, and the Ijaw youths in Kaiama, 1998 simply because they made a declaration. Not forgetting how the military under Obasanjo administration ordered the Nigeria army to massacre the communities of Odi, Bayelsa state and Ziki Biam, Benue state in 1999 and 2001 respectively in 'revenge' of the killing of security operatives by criminals in both communities. Let us also note that the recent IPOB-MASSOB secession agitation in the South-east took a violent twist after government forces had killed some of the harmless protesting agitators. In 2002, members of MASSOB were raided and extra-judicially killed when they went about the agitation peacefully.
I believe that the time has come for the armed forces, the police and other security agencies to be completely reformed. They should understand the consequence of extra-judicial killings and realise that the civil populace is always at the receiving end of the backlash. There are better ways of handling issues without pulling the trigger. The President has the responsibility of protecting lives and properties of all Nigerians. Mr President need to investigate the Zaria event thoroughly and punish anybody found wanting. We can't afford another set of violent agitation against the State.
Readers Note: I am not a sympathiser/member of the Shiite Islamic sect or any other islamic sect, neither am I a member/sympathiser of IPOB/MASSOB or any other secessionist group.
May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria Baba epistle! Why have you been avoiding creating a thread about "dasukigate" or your "zeros"(jonah fortunatos) role in both the "dasuki disaster" as well as the impending "malabu soup"? Abi cat got your fingers when e reach those issues? |
