Lol. That's why I read all these new japa people shouting they won't come back again to Nigeria after managing to get the visa.

You will learn that no place is like your ancestral country. Look at Akon now investing heavily in Senegal.

Abroad just like Lagos is designed for young age who can hustle and bustle because of the fast paced nature.

Travel abroad ooh have options ooh but don't forget that your country, think of your old age.

You'll never be young forever

Sorry for this kind of treatment. Most firms are like that and they usually feel they're doing the workers favor by hiring them. No thanks to Nigerian economy inflation.

FamilyRe: That Pain You Are Avoiding Is The Key To The Growth You Want by FunnyDude(m): 1:42pm On Aug 03, 2025
Leave pain alone, Nigerians have suffered enough pain. Tell me which other pain is much more brutal than unemployment, hunger, starvation, lack of quality drinkable water, lack of quality healthcare system, massive looting & corruption by the 1% in government, gruesome killings and kidnapping.

Must we all endure pain everytime, why can't we preach the "dividend of good governance" which should have solve most of our pains.

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by FunnyDude(m): 7:43pm On Jul 25, 2025
Visa officer don't have time, they only need 1 or 2 red flags and they make their decision. You sounded desperate and that gave you away in these two questions below:

Have you been to the US before?

No sir (with a warm smile is enough).
But You over emphasized and give much desperation ***1st red flag.***

The point where you said that you have your Bank statement with you sealed your rejection decision.***final red flag**

You'd have waited for the Vo to ask you about the bank statement before saying anything on it, they see it as desperation putting it forward to them without them asking you first.

My advice:
Just try get funding before going again, else you'll keep giving them free money. the vo will have written something about you for other Vos to work upon.
That's why your first attempt is very important funding or no funding.

Teniolasmart:
Went for my interview today and was denied, here is my transcript below, can anyone point out my flaws please

LAGOS EMBASSY
DEGREE: MBA
ZERO FUNDING

Before we started I told him I stutter sometimes and he said no problem, he understands

V.o pass me your passport and i20

Me: Good morning

V.o Have you been to the US before

No sir , I have not had any reason to cause if school and after school I was busy with work

V.o How many schools did you apply to

I applied to three schools, southern Illinois University, Alabama State and Lincoln but I chosed Lincoln cause it offers more benefit like capstone project and graduate certifications in areas like business analytics and marketing management

V.o Then he asked of my funding

After my father Left, my step dad has been taking care of me for a long time and he is the Cofounder of mowatek Nigeria where I currently work as a junior operational coordinator and he makes over 120 million naira every 6 months then he said 20 million per year and I said no 120 million every 6 months which equates to over 200 million per year and he owns two mobile rigs worth millions and he just continued typing

Then I told him I have a bank statement with me but he didn't request it

What does your company do
We do water treatment's, sewage treatment and also geophysical drilling which aligns with what i studied in school and that we have worked with Shell and seplat before

What did you study
I studied applied geophysics and it aligns with my current job role as a junior operational coordinator and some of my roles include reports preparations, I assist in also preparing projects budget and projects timelines also, and I also meet with clients for project requirements and specifications (he was nodding and staring into my face while I was saying this)

When did you finish school

I finished last year and continued work after school

I was already feeling confident here cause he only asked two to three questions to the people who were in front of me before handling them the blue paper,

What do you do
I am a junior operational coordinator and I listed my roles

Do you know anyone in the us

No sir but my cousin was in the US sometimes ago and he is back to Nigeria

What would you be doing after this course
I said I would be applying the skills the degree would give me in my intending role as a operational director and I would be spearheading the company growth into international market like ghana and other countries

While he was typing, I also told him I have a document that attest to my intending role of a operational director

Then he brought out the blue paper, so I asked him if I can know the reason for my denial and he said it's in the blue script

You could also use Escrow services.

The people who developed the smart phones, Internet, Vehicles and other technologies you all are enjoying today went to school, took classes, took courses, did assignments, experiment in the lab, failed thousands of times before they achieved what you "Education is Scam" people are enjoying today.

The semiconductors, silicon, metalloids, infrared rays used in developing the mobile phones and hardwares was all as a result of same University education.

Money has an expiring date, but knowledge and education doesn't.

The founder of Tiktok is a graduate of Software Engineering, went to Nankai University. Education gave him the leverage he used to conduct experiments that propelled Tiktok algorithm.

Keep wallowing in ignorance

Just to add to other comments above, You could be offered an admission without GRE, but scholarship or zero deficit as you mentioned is not a guarantee or automatic with the admission. Two critical ingredients to be considered for a scholarship if your proposed program of study states funding available are GRE and CGPA above 3.5/4.0. If a school says GRE is not required for admission, YES but admission is not scholarship, GA or TA position. Higher Education is witnessing a funding cuts, only exceptional and outstanding applicants would qualify. Scholarship hopefuls should endeavor to write GRE or GMAT going forward among other requirements.
You've summarize it all

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by FunnyDude(m):
For most fully funded PhD program in the US, these are some insights you need to know:

‎In a typical year for PhD application, most schools have over 150 applicants (domestic and international); infact, schools with application fee waivers will have x3 applicants for a limited space of average 5 to 18 admits.

‎Ranking of applicants:
‎1. Those with prior master's will be ranked higher.

2. Those with research potential (publications) will be ranked.

3. Those with strong letters from Professor will be ranked as well.

4. GRE. This is the last. Those with good GRE will be ranked (the optional GRE is just a bait, when it comes to funding most give priority to this exam for full funding)

‎Imagine 20% of applicants having all these four criterias competing for few spaces. Do you think you'd stand a chance?

‎Remember, these applicants are from China, Japan, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Korea, US, Singapore and other countries with strong University Research system and highly ranked universities. It's a competitive process.

‎That's what determines the interview and offers.
