@sheldon123 made some good points but in the cases he cited, it seems they fell down purposely to worship unlike what happens in churches today. However, the verses below may help support what happens in churches today:
Acts 22:7 "And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? "
Rev 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
@gochen360 & @joagabje, what do u think about these verses? |

It is only in this way that we can grow. Let us all be careful in our utterances, thier are some that are unbecoming of a believer. Thank you very much, you have spoken well. |

You knew your fellow christians killed a person yesterday. so was it the effect of Ofedepo's prayer that made christians to circumvent the power of God and take the battle in their hands? is that a decline or good thing? like what happened to Thou shalt not Kill? So if a Christian or group of people who are Christians go out to steal or commit any crime, does that make all Christians bad or does it mean Christianity is false? Pls let's be using our brains while trying to make our points, dont be blinded by your hatred for Christianity. |

PA1982: You know that 2 Timothy is considered to have been written after Paul's death? That it's not an actual Pauline Epistle? I'm glad you seem to be getting the point- the bible is man-made, not God's inerrant Word.
Wrong again. I'm not an atheist. Does that mean 2 Timothy is not part of the Bible? Thatz even if your assertion is true (lol)
The Bible is God's word and it is clearly stated in the Bible. I wonder how u even manage to utter these gibberish.
If u are not an atheist then what are u? But one thing I know for sure is u are definitely not a Christian cos u dont even believe in the Bible and in the Holy Spirit. |

goshen360: @ diluminati, Don't be arsh on Jo, let us proof it biblically.
@ joagbaje, Demon is the most that I see knock people down in the bible. Others are believers who fall consciously by themselves in reference or worship to God and his power. We must be careful how we validate certain things. The bible is very complete. We should at least find two instances where a believer is knocked down by the power of God in the bible. I said at least two instances because the bible says, from the mouth of two or three, the truth shall be established. We are not doubting the power of God but something that is of God should not be difficult to explain. Jesus touched people and they didn't fall except for being possessed by evil spirit. Apostles did lots of signs,no records of people falling n some catching them. Holy spirit came upon Jesus,he didn't sink in river Jordan. Holy ghost came like fire on the apostles, they didn't fall all of them. The proof of demons knocking people down is common in the bible,we do not have proof of holy ghost knocking people down, can you explain that with valid bible verses please. I like the way you took time to make your point. If something is not in the Bible and it's being practiced today by pastors then questions have to be raised. I'm yet to see anywhere in the Bible where anyone was knocked down other than when being delivered from evil spirit. And Joagbaje is yet to show us Bible verses to support people being knocked down. As Christians our root is in the Bible and any spiritual thing we do that is outside the Bible has to be called to question. |

As for that body guard mater, I just taya cos I always wonder if they carry amo too. PA1982: You are funny. I wonder when you're actually going to read the bible. Chapter and verse, please. And since when is buying a sword the same as carrying a sword? PA1982: There you go with that 'your' bible nonsense. It really rocked your world to know there are more than one translation of the bible, didn't it?
I'm glad you took the trouble to cite chapter and verse. I notice you couldn't resist quote-mining, though, in both cases.
Try reading the following verse to the Matthew 26:51 Do you understand the meaning of this?
I also suggest you read the entire chapter 22 of Luke to understand what Jesus was actually talking about, rather than mining it for quotes. Pls dont even try to change the subject which made me come after you. Your point was that the disciples never carried weapons (cos u felt those surrounding pastors may have weapons on them) and I made it clear to you that the disciples of Jesus carried weapons, and I've proven it to you from the Bible. Why cant u for once accept the truth and quit being so stubborn. You make it look like it's an argument which u just must win no matter what. The truth is in the Bible dear, and ur not accepting it does not change the truth. |

PA1982: It's actually very, very simple. The prophetic and the healing videos are such crude hoaxes anyone with any experience in the world has to see them as the fakes they are. Testimonies can be made under many different circumstances, even under utter conviction. Surely even you can see that doesn't make their testimony true.
There are even people who are convinced Derren Brown and David Copperfield are 'real' magicians, pathetic as it may sound! And will 'testify' their belief! You simply dont believe in the spiritual, so you really believe everything is physical and nothing is spiritual in this world. Hmnnn. . . . |

2buff: There is no argument with ignorance. ignorance that assumes it knows everything, arrogant ignorance, is best left alone with its owner while you find better things to do with your time. One thing is certain, all who try to disproove the supernatural will meet it at some point in their life. Be it here on earth, or after their life is over. Leave them, they are still in a state of denial. But a time is coming when they will remember all the things I told them on Nairaland, but my concern is it may have been too late by then.

PA1982: You are funny. I wonder when you're actually going to read the bible. Chapter and verse, please. And since when is buying a sword the same as carrying a sword? Matt. 26:51 clearly states that ". . .one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest, and smoke off his ear."
Luke 22: 36 & 38: "And He said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one". 38: "And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And He said unto them, it is enough."
I'm sure you've never come across these verses in that your Bible cos it's obvious you werent aware they are in the Bible. Now tell me, why would Jesus ask them to buy swords if not to carry the swords? Would He ask them to buy swords just to keep as souvenirs or were swords given to the motherless babies as gifts? |

Joagbaje: I don't like it when we over exaggerate . How can someone force anybody to partner. Pls explain. Every giving is a choice. And it's by individual faith. You force people when u call them out, ask them to stand up or ask them to raise their hands if they are not partners. You dont have to put a gun to somebody's head to force the person to do what u want, u can embarrass (or attempt to embarrass) somebody to do your will. In order to avoid embarrassment people can do anything. |

PA1982: So you accept you were wrong in thinking Jesus needed outsiders' belief to accomplish a miracle? I'm glad, because your argument reduced our Saviour to the level of a showman. I've done more research on this and I discovered that in the case of a ressurection, the faith of the dead man who is to be ressurected is not required cos he's dead. I'll give u more details on this soon. |
