There's nothing wrong in throwing an occasional punch in parliament as long as you do not hit your opponent below the belt! |
tareigns: Wizkey abi na wizkid... Abeg enjoy ur money nd dnt mind em haters. If u wan buy james bond car,buy am cos na u get ur moneyYes, he should enjoy his money rather than invest wisely. When anything happens in future, they will begin to harass government, other artistes and the general public for donations. These people can never learn. |
Makuos: "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." (Matthew 12:36 KJV)My brother or sister, do not be angry at this people. Read 2 Samuel 16:5-10, you will understand what is happening. Absalom rebelled against his father and drove him from the throne. In his furgitive state, Shimei threw stones at david and cursed him. Abishai wanted to kill Shimei for dishonouring the King but David restrained him saying in verse 10: :"so let him curse for the Lord hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore has thou done so" Whatever these outsiders say against our pastor, John caused it. If only he had a spared a thought about the consequences of his action or inaction on his father and the church, no one will have room to throw stones at the church. Rather than be upset with them, I suggest we leave this forum and begin to pray thus: 1. God help our Pastor in these trying times that he will not be weak. 2. Lord give Pastor Kumuyi and all other leaders the strength to continue to teach the undiluted word of God. 3. Lord give all Deeper life parents the wisdom to answer all questions that their children can throw at them at this moment 4. Lord, settle the minds of all church members who have been confused by the whole saga 5. Lord, help John and Love that they will spend this period in true soul searching and prayer to God for forgiveness and restoration. |
@biolabee: No, at this rate Deeper Life will not die out in 100 years! What kills a church is compromise not upholding the standard of the word of God. If Deeper Life continues to preach the Bible, it will outlive all its critics just like the Bible has outlived its critics. Jesus said, "I tell you that if these ones should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out". Luke 19:40. What is happening today is very pathetic. Children raised by Deeper Life parents on the doctrines of the Bible are rebelling against their parents and the Bible. In doing so, they are fulfilling the above verse because children on non-deeper Lifers are embracing the faith with great zeal. Thank God, Pastor Kumuyi never had his children in mind as his would-be successors as some other founders do. Maybe if that had been so, we would have been saying all is lost. Besides, many do not realize that there are many Deeper Life churches all over the place but bearing other names. These are denominations founded by ex-deeper life pastors and who are preaching the same Bible doctrines as Deeper Life and living the life too! So whichever way, Deeper Life cannot die because the Bible cannot die! |
Eneze1: this was just done because a lot of controversy has already been generated regarding the issue in the church, which my Dad testifies to, anytime my mum comes home the kind of cloth she is wearing to church over there if she wears in Nigeria church members will say she has backslide, you can imagine how pathetic the situation is, she said something one day when she came around that when they go for evangelism in the US if they tie scarf nobody is going to listen to them but they always leave their hair open and there was a day they went for evangelism and a white man told him that its because of poverty in Africa that made us to be so religious which is the truthPoverty may indeed push many to prosperity and deliverance based churches, not to Bible believing churches. Before the coming of the Bible, Africans have been largely religious. We believed in God, righteousness and life after death. We believed in heaven and hell. Christianity only came to point us to Christ's atoning work for us. 'White men' brought the gospel to our land. Today their grand children have abandoned the faith because of 'knowledge' that is threatening to consume them. Don't be fooled!. That is why it is black men going to preach to them. Christianity took hold in Europe not because of poverty, but because of the aggressiveness and holiness of the earlier apostles. There is a difference between religiosity and Christianity. Deeper Life is a Bible believing church and does not preach religion, but 'Holiness without which no one can see the Lord' (Heb 12:14). |
slimyem: Mtcheeeeeew. Rubbish!!You really may not understand what they did wrong because of your upbringing and association. A child who disobeys the father has dishonoured him and run foul of God's commandment - "Honour your father and your mother". Such a child needs to pray to God for forgiveness. Look at it from this angle. John and Love are members of the Deeper Life, brought up under the doctrines of the Bible as taught by the church. At no time before now did either of them denouce the doctrine nor did they renounce their membership of the church. In fact, they were workers in the church! I used the word 'were' because now they are no more, having been suspended. But prior to their wedding they were. Church workers in Deeper life accept and probably teach others these doctrines. It is therefore wrong of the two of them to turn round and do contrary to the teachings on the day of their wedding. Deeper Life teaches modesty in all things and that is what the Bible teaches. The church also teaches separation from the world and it's practices and principles. This includes the way the unconverted world marries and conduct marriages, burials, naming ceremonies, housewarming etc, dressing, relationships and associations. And this are supported by the Bible! Read up 1 John 2:15-17. It is a commandment not an advice. Deeper Life does not impose these Bible doctrines on its members. Members subscribe to it of their own volition. No one is held captive in Deeper Life. The church makes it clear that anyone who is tired of these Bible doctrines is free to leave. Pastor Kumuyi is not a crowd gatherer. He says it all the time that he desires church members who wish to make heaven. If you are an outsider in Deeper Life, you will never understand what makes members stick to the church. Sometimes I wonder these days if things are not changing in the church. Those yester-years, Deeper Lifers used to be the laughing stock of every body. Then the church stood uncompromising in ALL things. But these days the church is taking on a more liberal outlook and is gaining acceptability with the world. It ought not be so. The church and the world are two parallel lines that ought never to meet. I sincerely pray that the Lord will revive His church so that Deeper Life will not mind the criticisms and jeers of the world but remain focused on heaven and Bible doctrines. |
I am not here to promote the work of demonic and satan-inspired people. But it is true that living and non-living things can be charmed. It does not matter that someone does not believe. You don't have to believe anything before it is possible. There are so many things that can be done through Black magic. You only begin to wonder when you encounter them. I know a man in my village when I was growing up who used black magic to torment his neighbours to no end. Mine was a rice planting community. For those conversant with local rice production, you know after parboiling it prior to de-husking it, you need to spread it out in the sun. Well this black magic practitioner uses evil powers to cause rain whenever he saw any of his neighbours spread out their rice or cocoa in the sun to dry. If he sees anyone drying rice and he greets the fellow, once he enters his house, rain starts. But if prior to his entering his house you pursue him with a gift, rain will not fall. It got so bad that neighbours were always watching out for him to try to dry his cocoa or rice. Once he spreads out his rice or cocoa, others will do the same knowing fully well that if he causes rain, it will fall on his as well. There are such people with occultic power that if you get into an argument with them and they touch your car, the car will just refuse to start. There used to be one man in Osogbo some years ago who gave tax collectors a hell of time. If anyone of them grabs him to ask for his tax papers, his arm will just pull out from its socket. The tax collector will start to beg him. There is no end to all these happenings. But they are all black magic. The only joy that one has is that those who practice it always meet terrible end. And if a man trusts his life into the hands of Jesus and lives a holy life by his grace, and is prayerful, such powers are neutralized over his life and property. It can be suicidal to deny that these things are possible. |
I need a fairly used scanner. If you have one let me know through this thread. |
Fasola can make a lot of money from this British example if he replicates it in Lagos. Ask all these visitors to lagos who will not go back to their mother states to post bond as follows: 1. Boko Haram States - N250,000 2. Other Northern States - N200,000 3. South South States - N150,000 4. South east States - N150,000 5. South West States - N100,000 I bet you he will make more money from this than he gets from the Federal Allocation. What do you think |
I've tried to read as much of the comments on this topic as I could. Unfortunately time and power problem will not allow me to go through everything. But these are my views. It is true that most of what you have seen in these pictures are not "DEEPERLIFISH' as many have pointed out, but let me point it out that the couple are adults and old enough to make their decisions. As a Christian father, you can preach to your children just as you can do to others. If the children reject the message, it does not stop them from being your children. And you do not have a right to disown them simply because of that. You may never know the agony in the heart of this father at what the son and daughter-in-law have chosen to do. His being there is to go through with his role as a father praying and hoping that one day the 'prodigal son' will come back home to the Bible. Go through the Bible and find out how many children of great leaders followed in the path of their fathers. Did you hear anything about the children of Moses? God did not find them suitable enough to take over from their father. He saw a better successor in Joshua. What about Samuel's sons. Israel requested for a king because Samuel's sons were bribe-takers unworthy of the position their father occupied. Not to talk about Eli whose two sons destroyed his ministry. Pastor Kumuyi has done his best. He preaches and lives a modest life. he emphasizes holiness and fear of God. He is heavenly minded. If his children choose to do otherwise, he cannot be blamed for he cannot save them. |
abacus: What you all failed to understand is, the 2 daughters will not go hungry as well they will not eat from dustbin. They have secured future. What will be the fate of those without rich parents? This is what the man is trying to talk about. You all leave the message murdering the messenger.. Nawa to you all.The daughters may not die of hunger but they are JOBLESS and probable bored. Boredom can kill faster than hunger! |
Angel_777: Tell them oooo! u can use money to buy educatn bt not intelligent.Point of correction. You cannot be educated without being intelligent. Maybe you meant to say: u can use money to buy CERTIFICATE but not intelligence! |
yinchar: Nigerians never seize to amaze me, this is a man trying to let people at the helms of affair to be aware there is massive 42% unemployment in the land, and yet you guys are blaming him because you so blinded with tribalism, hatred, and jealousy, this is a man that is capable of feeding his two daughter even without employment...Is it a lie that 42% of graduates are unemployed?....Is it a lie that 2bn is spent on security daily?.instead on infrastructure development and social welfare packages..Is it a lie there is massive corruption...Let's be unbiased & honest for once for the sake of generation unborn, God bless Nigeria. We are being unbiased and honest in our responses. No one is unaware of the rate of unemployment. What we do not need is for people who had the opportunity of addressing the issue but failed to do it when they were in power and enjoying the spoils office coming out to complain like those of us who never had the opportunity they had. El-Rufai was part of the system that created or aggravated the unemployment problem in Nigeria. So he should shut up and let others do the complaining! QED! |
My reactions are as follows: 1. He said he is yet to get jobs for his daughters. Should he be the one to get jobs for them or the children should secure jobs for themselves? 2. El-Rufai was in government before. What did he do to address unemployment then? Or is he saying that unemployment started after he left government? 3. Are u sure the children and their father are not choosy about the kind of employment they want because many private schools will gladly employ them as teachers. 4. Are they too young to marry in a region where 15yr olds get married to senators and governors? Then let El-Rufai marry them off so they can be employed raising kids for their husbands 5. With all the money El-Rufai made in government, he should be able to set these children up in business. Or are the children so ill-equipped (street wise ) that they cannot run any business? They can also lean a trade – Tailoring (or fashion designing to glorify it), hair dressing etc. 6. Finally, this should serve as a lesson to those who go into government and forget the yearning of the masses. Whatever goes round surely will come round. No matter how much a man steals, it can never and will never be able to provide for him and all his family members. 7. By the way, my two daughters finished from a private University four years ago and have not been able to secure jobs so one of them went into business as distributor to some snacks producing company while the other has become a full time writer. She already has three children novels to her credit. On top of it, I’ve married one of them off and is already employed making babies for the husband! El-Rufai should go and do likewise |

Hm. Is there anything else to add? The truth is that the youth of this generation is not given to much reading. Most of the candidates for this exam did not prepare at all. You need to see them at the so-called coaching centres. They go with no books (Do they have textbooks in the first place?) They do not listen to their teachers and they are for ever chatting on their phones! Examinations are not passed that way. Let no one blame JAMB or lack of enough spaces in our univeristies. It is just a case of candidates not preparing well. Some years ago when I was admitted to Unibadan, I was told of a lecturer who will never award above 50% in his course. The 2nd year people tried to dissuade me from picking the lecturer's course as an elective, but I did. I studied hard and scored 68% in that same course. But for a careless mistake that I made attempting one of the questions, I would have scored above 70! I never believe any person or organisation will purposely fail a candidate in an examination. It is just a question of what the candidate has written which of course will be a product of his preparation. Am I therefore saying there were no candidates who prapared well and still did not do well? Of course No!. For such candidates, I only say "You may be down, but don't stay down. Rise up and forget the failure of this year. Commence preparations for next year's exam now and definitely you will make it". Let every candidate do a very impartial assessment of his or her preaparations for the exam and where you are convinced you have prepared very well, use this failure as a stepping stone to greater things and if you discover any lapse in your preparations, don't shift the blame. Accept your shortcomings, change your ways and I tell you, next year will be better. |

;DNFF has no point. Have they forgotten that this is Africa? When in Africa has it cbecome a fashion to write to tell your brother that you are coming to his house not to talk of how many people you are bringing. That is the white man's style. What I'm used to in Africa is that you just pack your bags, take the next available vehicle and gbam you land at your brother's door step. And he must accommodate you and very well too. In fact if he lives in a single room with his wife, they have to vacate the room and stay in the verandah. and they dare not ask you how long you are staying. mind you, you must eat the best food throughout your stay. This is Africa. NFF should just apologize to the Kenyans for this un-African attitude. I dey laugh o. |
The man might have gone a bit too far, but hoarding knowledge is evil. Of what use is marriage if the couple cannot share things including knowledge? I suspect there had been a crack in this marriage before this incident. The facebook saga miight just have been the last straw. |
