You cannot be as hardworking as your mate because you live in your family house. So, save enough, get and apartment first. It is going to toughen you up. And from your post, you need some toughening.

Secondly, although it is the African (Nigerian) Culture for a child to take care of his parents in appreciation to them for taking care of him, don't do it to your detriment. Calculate your salary. Maybe you can say:
20% for transport, airtime/data and other day to day expenses you incur...

30% to your parents which includes food, utility bills and etcetera...

40% for savings towards your rent...

10% as emergency fund... Sickness, contribution for some unprecedented situation.

(If you're religious you can make it 15% out of the rent money for tithe and offerings)


After getting the apartment, make sure you set aside at least 20% towards investment in your own dream. After working 6-7 hours, you can't just sleep and chat for the rest of the day. Start creating your legacy. You don't want to 'burden' your kids too do you?

Good evening friends. It all started with malaria two weeks ago and i used Lonart, i was relieved for some period and i started feeling feverish again. Chairman, House Committee on Army, Rimande Shawulu, who stated this yesterday, said the President lacks the constitutional powers to approve money for arms procurement without the mandate of the legislature, insisting that any such violation was bound to brew trouble between him and the National Assembly. The Senate had on Wednesday, taken a swipe at the Presidency, saying the President lacks the powers to give approval for such money without approval from the legislature. Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Ben Murray-Bruce, had said: “It has not been approved, it is simply the choice of words. The Presidency or the executive cannot spend a single kobo on such a mission unless the National Assembly approves that. “It is only when the Senate or National Assembly approves that the executive can go ahead to spend such money. The executive can only recommend and not to approve.” This is even as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday tasked the National Assembly to commence appropriate constitutional legislative actions against President Buhari for gross misconduct over the matter. Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday alleged that unlike the PDP, the fund is not meant to finance 2019 polls.

There’ll be trouble…
Shawulu, who represents Donga/Ussa/Takum/Special Area Constituency of Taraba State, said there would be serious trouble, if any money goes out for such purpose without approval from the legislature. He spoke to reporters in Abuja, on the sidelines of the Second Procurement Awareness Seminar, organised by the Directorate of Procurement, Army Headquarters. He said: “I can inform you that of recent, our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, gave approval for the purchase of more equipment for the military worth $1 billion, Dan-Ali was quoted to have said while responding to questions from newsmen on Wednesday at the State House. “The fact of the matter is that there are processes for money coming into the federation account and for the money being used. And the point we must note too is that a lot of times, pronouncements are policy statements and the policy statements are not just executed, it’s not as if, when the announcement was made, the federation account was debited. No, it doesn’t happen that way. “When the President says he’s going to spend money, there’s a process that is followed before the money is spent. So, I want you to understand that, it’s not as if money has gone out. “However, if money has gone out without parliamentary approval, that’s is a problem, it’s a very serious problem if money went out without parliamentary approval.” In his opening remarks on the occasion, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, said there was no gainsaying the fact that the operational capability of the Nigerian Army today depends on the availability of requisite hardware, highly trained personnel and other essential resources. According to him, in the past few years, the Nigerian Army “has no doubt taken robust steps and put in place policies in enhancing its procurement plans and processes, with a view to meeting its constitutional roles. Buratai said the theme for this year’s seminar” Optimizing the Operational Capabilities of the Nigerian Army through an Effective Procurement System”, was quite unique and significant, especially in view of the acute need to strengthen the capacity of the Nigerian Army towards meeting the present growing security challenges. “The security challenges facing our dear country manifest in the forms of terrorism, insurgency, separatist movements and banditry, among others,” he noted. He charged participants to reflect on the theme, bearing in mind the opportunities to enhance the Nigerian Army’s capabilities, building upon ongoing successes in view of operational commitments and improving procurement methods as well as processes in line with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2007.” “This seminar, therefore, provides a veritable platform for us to familiarize and educate ourselves sufficiently on the procurement matters that would enable the Nigerian Army compete successfully in the opportunities that arise from the implementation of the national budget, Buratai added. Director of Procurement, Army Headquarters, Brigadier General ET Essien, in his welcome address, said the seminar was convened in line with the Nigerian Army training directive 2018. The objective of the seminar, he explained, was to develop the capacity of the Nigerian Army personnel on procurement procedures in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, PPA 2007.

Meanwhile, reacting to the development yesterday, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, tasked the National Assembly to commence appropriate constitutional legislative actions against President Buhari for alleged gross misconduct. The party also called on Nigerians to reject and resist the renewed attempt by the Presidency to help itself with the huge sums of money, alleging that the $1 billion was meant to finance President Buhari’s interests in the APC national convention and 2019 Presidential campaign. In a statement by its image maker, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP said its investigations revealed that the Presidency deliberately avoided the National Assembly to avoid legislative scrutiny and accountability, thus paving way for the diversion of the fund “for selfish partisan purposes.” The statement read: “It is a notorious fact that the Presidency and the APC have been plotting to loot this $I billion from our heavily depleted Excess Crude Account, ECA), since last year, using the guise of fight against insurgency. “This is the same Buhari administration that has been boasting of having technically defeated the insurgents. This is also an administration that is not known to have exhausted subsisting budgetary allocations for defence. “Nigerians are thoroughly disappointed that President Buhari; the same African Union (AU) ‘anti-corruption champion’, who swore to be above board and to protect the constitution and our laws, will allow himself to fall for the temptation of resorting to ways and means which are totally at variance with the laws and all democratic tenets. “Democracy thrives on constitutional processes of separation of powers, due diligence and transparency and not on totalitarian tendencies. “We urge the National Assembly to look into the constitution and impose appropriate legislative instruments against Mr. President, if any part of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) has been breached by this unilateral decision.” The party also faulted government’s efforts at taming insurgency, saying there was more to it than the public was being made to believe. “It has since come to light that the Buhari administration is using the fight against insurgency as a conduit to siphon funds, as evidenced in the alleged looting of the N18 billion Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, funds.”

I will no longer have the time to come to this forum, not as a guest and not with an alternate username. I believe I have done justice to sharing my experiences on Life, God and the Universe. I have made friends here, some who have inspired me and some who have challenged me.

This was a personal journey for me, and I must apologize to those who feel hurt by my desire to push beyond Faith, Religions and Spirituality.

I am still human but awakened to Christ or Cosmic Consciousness so the angle of my understanding is beyond 3D as I now operate from 5D. My entire brainwaves and neurotransmission is on a level that only few Humans can dare to step into. So, it is time to focus on working to improve the living standards of Humanity with all the inspirations and guidance I have received from the matrix, the created and the uncreated Universes and above from my Over-Soul and Infinite Source itself.

I have acquired the capabilities to read minds, to send messages across continents, across Time and Space with my mind and I can activate these frequencies with simple hardwares as well as via meditation, so Yes, this past 20 yrs of my research with 6 years documented on nairaland was life-changing for me.

I think it is time for me to drop the hat and enjoy more group sex, drink more wines, and party wild and prepare to make babies.

That's true but you don't have to put any personal thing online for anyone to track you. Once you write online, no matter what it is, can be traced to you. Except the tracking team is not serious. Using VPN is also pointless, or better put, only cuts off attack by low level local hackers, because what it does is transmit your real IP to the source which in turn alternate it to a VPN of your country of choice. As long as a source holds it you are just playing yourself.

Staff of BOI, ur bank is just like every other loan bank. It is not a federal govt agency. Is this true or false?

As a staff of the Bank, I can assure you that if indeed you've been dealing with the Bank all you need to get this issue resolved is a call to the customer care unit. No staff of the Bank is allowed to collect a penny from you until you accept the offer letter. Kindly drop your complaint with the customer unit 07002255264/customercare@boi.ng

U can approach a lawyer for advice on how to, if posible withdraw ur commitment if u do not trust them.
This is my guess, you are also free to investigate and proof me wrong. BOI is n ot a Govt agency. It's called BOI limited. Some elites that have money made it look like it's govt establisment. They are just crafty.

I apologize for the length of this story which is an illustration of the lip service our government has been paying to the encouragement of agriculture and private enterprise in Nigeria.

MY APPLICATION
In July, 2017, I submitted an application for a loan of five million, nine hundred and two thousand naira only (N5, 902, 000.00) at the Makurdi, Benue state branch of Bank of Industry. At the initial stage, I was very impressed by what I thought was the professionalism demonstrated by staff of the bank. I got a call on the 31st August 2017 notifying me of the approval of my loan. You can only imagine how delighted I was at the prospect of such a lifeline to my business considering the loan had a tenor of 3 years, moratorium of six months and purported interest of less than 10% per annum and given that my loan officer gave me the impression that now that the loan had been approved, disbursement was going to be a matter of days or weeks at the most.

I was therefore very surprised to say the least when 2 months down the line, I was yet to receive an offer letter under the pretext that searches were been carried out on my person and on my business. I patiently waited while inundating Bank of Industry Makurdi office with calls and visits. It was not until early November, 2017 that I received a call informing me that the searches came clean and my offer letter was now ready. I went to the office and asked to receive my letter but to my surprise, I was asked to pay a non refundable fee of 1% of the amount approved for me before I could even view the letter. This part sounded almost criminal to me, why won’t I see the terms governing the purported offer before committing resources I did not have? They told me it was the norm and that there was no other way so I went ahead to pay the sum of Fifty Two Thousand Naira (N52, 000.00) being 1% of the sum approved. See receipt of the payment attached.

Thereafter, I received a 6-paged offer letter in which I found ridiculous terms that made me wonder why a government agency whose objective was the encouragement of entrepreneurship could be that devious and self interested. See some details:

1.) The approved loan amount was five million, one hundred and ninety four thousand, three hundred and twenty two naira (N5, 194,322.00). A good percentage of this approved sum was for fees and charges which did not add any direct value to my business and which were at the exclusive discretion of the bank.
2.) The source was FGN (NEDEP) fund.
3.) It was to be discharged towards the procurement of items of equipment and raw material for my business. In other words, I was not supposed to get a kobo in cash, my suppliers were meant to get payment after they had supplied the materials I required.
4.) I also found in addition to other 8 conditions all of which I had met that I was meant to pay another security arrangement of 10% of the approved loan amount being Five hundred and nineteen thousand, four hundred and thirty two naira twenty kobo (N519,432.20)
5.) No legal action could be instituted howsoever instigated and/or sustained by my company against Bank of Industry jointly or severally without first giving BOI a ninety (90) day prior written pre-action notice of my company’s intention to so proceed against Bank of Industry.
6.) Bank of Industry’s ability to accommodate this facility within its legal lending limits was subject to availability of funds. This left me wondering why the bank will approve my application, collect a non refundable fee of 1% of the approved amount without first determining funds’ availability.
7.) The mother of all frauds in the offer letter was that if the loan was not disbursed within 2 months from the date of the letter of offer (31st October, 2017), the Bank of Industry without any consideration of why it was not disbursed reserved the right to review the terms and conditions of offer but if the loan was not disbursed within 3 months from the date of the letter of offer, the letter lapses and all expenses incurred by the bank shall be repaid by my company.
8.) If the offer letter contained unfriendly terms, you can only imagine what the 20 paged loan agreement proper contained. On the whole, the terms of the loan agreement was such that the bank was more than 100% covered while I and my 2 guarantors were made to bear all the risks and every legal obligation/responsibility.

This was the greatest source of my fear as it all meant that the bank could afford the highest form of irresponsibility and recklessness as far as the loan and its disbursement was concerned and not face any consequence whatsoever. However, not only did I need the loan, at this point I had invested so much resource in money, time and energy that I felt the need to see it all through. So I stayed interested nonetheless.
