Atiku and OBJ got into a fight a major fight, Atiku was in charge of PDM he was the strongest Northern politician and as the heir to Yar Adua, OBJ used YarAdua younger brother Umaru to break Atikus hold on PDM
Tinubu saw an opportunity to woo a powerful politician and get on his good side, he gave Atiku a platform to contest the 2007 election obviously Atiku had no path to win. He made Ben Obi Atikus vice. They lost but Tinubus profile started rising

He sponsored candidates in AC all over Nigeria. He brought many politicians treated badly and denied a ticket into his fold e.g Ngige Akume
He brought Fashola a technocrat as governor but didn't hand over the political keys to him
Fasholas performance became the standard for ACN to campaign and win many hearts across the nation

Now he has become a major power broker who tactically made Jonathan president without appearing to.

After winning in 2011, Jonathan started some aggressive moves to break Tinubu so he won't have to beg everytime. One of such moves was to make a SW Mulikat Adeola Speaker, Jonathan thinking was to raise a powerful SW politician that will be an alternative to Tinubu.
Tinubu knew this was an act of aggression on their gentleman handshake and he mobilized the ACN reps to reject Mulikat and support Tambuwal,
Counterplay sacrificed pawn to gain positional advantage

Buhari lost 2011 again and started crying on TV and was hopeless. As a man of strategy Tinubu knew Buhari was at his low and vulnerable point, he approached Buhari this time Bubu was more than willing
Tinubu started the cleanup of Buhari's image from a clueless out of touch military religious extremist guy to this misunderstood charming, introvert, gap toothed, strong man that Nigeria needed at this critical time to get rid of corruption and PDP indiscipline

Thus APC was birthed with the plan to use Buhari's popularity with Tinubu's money and skilled politicking to push Buhari into power but this time Tinubu was to pick Buhari's vice.
APC also won over Atiku after he lost out in PDP and breakaway PDP governors. Atiku came into the convention ground hoping to buy the ticket as usual
Buhari has never done any real competitive primary in a party everyone didn't worship him. Primary ground, Buhari was stunned about how Atiku was about to steal the ticket right there with money . Until Tinubu matched Atiku dollar for dollar and Buhari won the ticket

This is where the game starts getting interesting..
Now the deal was for Tinubu ACN to provide the Vice.
Tinubu knew he was interested in succeeding Buhari. And giving a strong vice would build up the Vice politically over 8yrs and might build enough goodwill to succeed Buhari
This was Tinubu's biggest masterstroke. He gave Buhari an Osinbajo who was smart but has the political clout of a 13yr old girl. Osinbajo was a very safe choice, he was not popular nor charismatic enough to gather the clout to state Jagaban in the face
There were other options like Fashola and Fayemi but they were risky and could get ambitious and endear themselves to people
Buhari asked Tinubu for 3 choices, Tinubu returned with one choice an unknown Yemi Osinbajo who will complete 8yrs and have less to nothing in political power to challenge for the seat

Buhari won election and Tinubu is in a good position Nationally acknowledged as the brain behind the success, thus issues started cropping up, fissures grew in the hurriedly assembled APC. Saraki wanted more than he was offered and broke the party, Buharis packaging has now begun to fall off, the makeup was beginning to melt and the man behind the mascara was beginning to show and its not pretty, Tinubu was schemed out by Buharis CPC friends including Abba Kyari and ElRufai, Things were not going to plan

Tinubu though weakened by many of the policies under Buhari including Cash swap, fuel scarcity, general insecurity, failing health, etc. His generals stood behind him like Allied forces stood behind General Eisenhower in the battle of Normandy in the final offensive against Nazi Germany. When the boats were rocking his Northern governors came out forcefully, He then found an invaluable ally in the G5 and Wike who was aggrieved from PDP and swore to neutralize Atiku everywhere. Late hour Wike declared for Tinubu, neutralizing an important state for Obi and Atiku

You can see it was a gradual ascension filled with scheming which he lost some but won many
This man called Jagaban who many people do not like but smart people deeply respect
He understands politics[/font]. He is smart enough not to fight anyone dirty thus always leaving the room for reconciliation open, the power of compromise give & take, persuasion and when to use the power of money

So it means we the South South are the one to choose the most suitable for Nigeria without biased
And we did. We choose obi but due to tribalism the South west refused and supported a man who is sick mentally and physically...national anthem was going on he wasn't Aware

If you can't handover your daughter or sister for Marriage to a sick old man with dementia not physically and mentally fit. Some one not aware of his environment but still you want to support same man to head 220 million Nigeria at this point of our critical situation then may you and your family know no peace


If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion and political leaning to the point that the truth and justice becomes secondary consideration then your education is useless, your exposure is useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments. You are liability to man kind

But the South west spoilt dragged us back because of tribalism

Every sane Nigeria should look at this and read a meaning to it
1) Tinubu political party and administration is ruling but he was unable to win Abuja where them sit down put
2) his own state of origin osun. Even a twelve year old will win thier own state yet he was unable to win

3) all development in lagos is attributed to Tinubu and he is regarded as the father of lagos yet he was unable to win

Nigerians should put on thier conscience and see that tinubu was rejected completely by Nigerians

It's now beginning to make sense why Obi couldn't have won the election. He should just stay back in Labour Party and build the party.
For being able to achieve all this within 6 months in a party without structure, he has done an outstanding job.

He's young and should try again in 4 years. I trust Tinubu and Shettima - a terrible combination anyways - to totally finish off the country from where Buhari stopped. This will make Obi more popular.

With this general election, I must admit that a lot has changed in terms of my viewpoint. Even among those who are educated, tribalism and hypocrisy are Nigeria's biggest problems.

I had a preconceived impression about the Ibos before the election that they were the most tribally inclined people on earth, but I was completely wrong. Although they may occasionally fight with other tribes, they are not a bunch of hypocrites.

There is no group of people more tribalistic than the Yorubas. Si[/b]mply because a candidate is your brother doesn't make it wrong to vote for him. Jonathan had a similar treatment from the South South. But concealing it behind the pretense that he built Lagos, I guess that stinks. Lagos already existed before The Yoruba Candidate entered politics. They "Say omo-Ibo" go back to Anambra when you attempt to engage them in intellectual conversations. Individuals work hard to make money; nobody is paid by the state, and neither are we given free rides or water. [b]Just ask the Yoruba candidate's supporters what he did while he was a governor, and they'll start discussing initiatives that other governors have undertaken. And guess what he did not get along with these governors, like BRF and AA for instance, he even fought against their reelection.

He suddenly made a route for them. Why does his supporters give him credit to the governors of Lagos State but not to the governors he puts on other Yoruba states who perform appallingly?? such as the former governor of Osun and the current governor of Ogun State?

A dummy would do well as Lagos Governor. Lagos already had one of the biggest economy in Africa before 1998

They began playing the tribal card "Our Lagos" as soon as it was clear that people could see through their lies. the same Lagos that was built by Niger-Delta Oil. Even the elites exhibit hypocrisy when they start uttering "Yoruba ronu" and "Omo-ale." Imagine for a second that the Yoruba candidate came from a different tribe; the world wouldn't have heard enough.

Brilliant thinkers, like Wole Soyinka, would have spoken up and even funded protests to stymie the candidacy, but since he is their son, everyone has been silent.

What about the religious leaders?

In the church, some of them had already established a political department, but everything changed when their favorite candidate lost the primary. The Church has now adopted a neutral stance after initially showing signs of active participation. Currently, they are idly perched and using parables to communicate.

The Yorubas are the only tribe I've observed that is overtly tribalistic. That is complete.

Their leaders are doing this by appealing to their ingrained tribalism. Nobody can conceal it. Although not all Yorubas are like way, this is my honest assessment of them. This is not meant as a slight against the decent, at peace, and wise Yoruba people. Nigeria is for everyone, and this is merely a belligerent cry to look above ingrained tribalism.

Barely few hours to the 2023 presidential election, G5 has lost its chairman, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to sabotage.
In a chilling outburst by Benue State Governor and member of G5, Chief Samuel Ortom on the fall of Wike, he averred that “Wike is my friend and will always be my friend but we don’t agree politically anymore. We agreed to support Peter Obi but he went and met with Tinubu behind us.
“He is only deceiving Tinubu because Rivers State will never leave Peter Obi to vote for Bola Tinubu. Atiku will even get more votes than Tinubu in Rivers State.
“Wike refused to support Bola Tinubu openly because he knows that Rivers people will turn against him.
“Wike believed that Buhari would rig election for Tinubu but he can see clearly now that things are going against him.
“We know Peter Obi is popular in both Rivers State and Benue State. Even if I refuse to support Peter Obi today, he will still win Benue State.
Continuing, Chief Ortom said “I can bet you; the only state Bola Tinubu will win among the states of G5 governors is Oyo State.”
However, other members of G5 including the governors of Oyo, Abia and Enugu States are yet to give their own side of the story of G5.
