FYI ... cannabis is not addictive ... tobacco is. Anyone that smokes weed can do without if he doesn't get ... would not go out of his way to get some... nor pay outrageous prices to get some... he will simply stop smoking until he gets for free ... or at an affordable price. A cigarette smoker must have cigarettes... he must smoke... and will pay any price or go any distance to get ... because he has been addicted to it. Current minimum price for a pack of cigarrettes in NY is $17 .... 20 sticks of cigarettes.... do the math.
Cigarettes and alcohol are two addictive drugs in the hands of citizens ... legally... is that a good idea?

Why go after cannabis? ... that's a native herb that has a whole lot of benefits. Why not go after tobacco?... which is harmful... has no benefits and is not a native plant. Most of us are brainwashed to condemn cannabis ... but see nothing wrong with tobacco. The US ... who made us declare our native plant illegal .... has pretty much made it legal in the US. But here we are .... waiting for them to tell us we can now make it legal. We killing our own natural resource that can bring us nlions in foreign exchange .
On the hard drugs ... up to me we should adapt China's policy ... death sentence.... these drugs wreck lives and destroy communities.

On the ASUU strike thing, you need to understand. It is not that government has refused to pay the lecturers. It is more that government has rejected the SALARY INCREASE dictated by the ASUU staff. Greed is a factor here.
ASUU is also insisting that government meets all the demands, while FG has accepted 80% of the demands. It is time for ASUU to be considerate at least for now. Educational funding is a gradual thing, cannot be done immediately especially when Nigeria is in great debt.

This is how the system works, FG knows it so don't come here and be blaming ASUU.

If you guys are against the strike, why didn't you guys protest and shake things, instead you guys are quiet.

I was doing my Phd when they went on strike during 2018/2019 session, it affected my timelines, but i took advantage to the extent that when it was called off, i was ready for all the viva voce that followed.

I know how much of my money i spent to do my experiments and simulations outside the country ooo because i could not find anywhere in Nigeria i could do it.

I understand the part that the FG are saying that they cannot fund public universities again which is why they recommended the school fee increase, that ASUU refused.
How many families can afford such and they did not send their children to private universities?

You people don't really understand what is going on sha, maybe we all prefer it the way it is and complain later on why engineering courses in Nigeria are not part of the washington/sydney accords or why medical doctors will have to write exams before moving abroad or why international mobility is difficult except one writes an exam or registers for a PG course abroad...

Anyway i rest my case, we shall get whatever we deserve

They say ASUU is fighting for the students, but I am saying that ASUU is selfish and fighting for their stomach. I supported them initially when they embarked on this strike, but when I see the wickedness exuded by them even after FG have met with some of their demands, but they still won't back off, so that students who are the ones facing the heat of it can return to school, I want to say God punish ASUU .

This usêlèss union should be scrape out totally, we have other unions, but non do like ASUU. ASUU is a union used by students village people to punished them to be in school forever.
