I think we need to change the curriculum of our education, after secondary school we need to make it compulsory for all students to learn an income producing skill for at least a year, let certificate of completion be based on how many clients they are able to service. Also these certificate should be a prerequisite for admission to tertiary institutions. |
iwaeda:Welcome to the rat race of survival. Marketers have existing relationships with the foreign market, the foreign market is ready to dip prices to stay afloat, so they call their loyal customers giving them deals that are too good to refuse. The only way Dangote can survive is through either government fiat or price war till the competition bleeds out or he creates a complete downstream chain that will take out old marketers. Business is war! |
Instead of asking citizens for money, shut down a number of foreign military base, raise taxes on the wealthy by changing the tax code, encourage US manufacturing. |
seanwilliam:I will suggest you go broad not niche, the rate at which things are changing, one may finish a degree after 4 years and the field won't be in existence. The important thing is to research the curriculum and tutoring of the options a solid marine engineering degree is better than a crappy computer science degree. |
joy4news:A senate that passed students loan bill, tax reform bill, and electricity act in 2 years, is the worst senate since 1999. Wow! Please which other NASS has passed at least 3 people centered bills in 2 years? |
fergie001:Smart move, one leg in ADC the other one in LP. They can't loose on both sides. |
LagosOrigin:Lol! Atiku did not inherit anything, the cult following in the north started with Mallam Aminu Kano, then it moved to Shehu Musa Yar Adua, then to Buhari. If you look closely these people were not very wealthy but they cared about their people and commanded tremendous respect. Atiku does have this, he is a money bag willing to buy the people as such he doesn't commanded as much influence and respect. Look closely at most of Atiku's alliance, they are more with the south than the north. |
2027 will be the most expensive election in our history, the end of PMBs tenure also marked the end of any cult like following. The north is all about the money now, the social vices like kidnapping is a testament of this. Do the coalition have more money than the APC? Do they know how to spend money more wisely than the APC? APC has money from Lagos, Rivers, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom. Kano is most likely in the bag, Kaduna and Katsina most likely are going to be a battle ground states. There is most likely going to be an exodus from ADC after the primarys. There are only 2 Frontline candidates in ADC and both of them have to run in this election cos they don't stand a chance in 2031, who will step down for who? With how things stand I call it for APC. |
naptu2:I still believe Obi going to ADC is a wrong move, his numbers at the last polls shows that he really doesn't need a new platform, what he needs is strong alliance up north. A great Negotiation and alliance with Kwankwaso will be a lot more beneficial. The gladiators in ADC are too many and the champions in politics are too strong for Obi. I still believe Obi will decamp from ADC because they won't give him the ticket and by that time it might be a little too late to form an alliance. The 2027 elections is going to be the most expensive and voter financially induced election in our history. |
voiceoftheupcom:The dynamics of abroad and home is different, the big problem is the ability to adapt and change when experiencing new culture. |
Giftimoni:Nigeria and miracle worker syndrome! Personally, I believe a true predicted of the future is the past. A lizard governor cannot become an alligator president. |
All this one is just long story, the big problem is who will be the presidential candidate and running mate. The true test of the efficacy of their coming together is their flag bearer. If it is not Atiku, they dont stand a chance, if they choose Atiku, they will have a southern problem to deal with. The likes of aregbesola cant be trusted should they not get their way, its indeed going to be an interesting run. |
amoreobansu:Bob D should making politics look personal, there is a certain dynamics it takes to win an election. Kwankwaso can deliver 4m votes easily from Kano, it would only be stupid to not engage him. Peter Obi made the mistake of choosing a running mate that couldn't win his LGA and look how that turned out. Politics is about numbers and what you are willing to do to get it. As for Shetima, Ali modu Sherrif controls the state and VP is one of his boys, satisfy Ali and the state is yours. |
iwaeda:I came to a realization some years ago that we either choose hidden taxes by agberos and touts or we welcome them knocking on our doors at 1am as armed robbers. |
press9jatv:Savings is a great culture but it becomes useless when you have obligations that require fulfillment. You saved money and didn't build necessary infrastructure like education, transportation and trade. Thanks to inflation these infrastructure keep on getting expensive as time goes. |
apprentist:Be careful how you handle this matter, women too require a job to give them fulfillment or a sense that they matter in life. So your wife has to balance a triangle in her life, which are her job, her children and her husband. Unfortunately, you the husband are getting the shortest end of the triangle. What you both need is a reconnection, by the way it can be an hormonal issue or a health challenge, but you guys have to have an honest conversation without you nagging of lack of attention. On of these Fridays just buy ice cream put it in the freezer and tell her you have date night, get the kids to bed early and you guys sit and have ice cream and talk, ask her what her challenges are and how you can help make the burden lighter, express your need for sex and how it's important to your wellbeing, ask if you can come up with a system that can be mutually beneficial to both of you. |
The problem is that of a standard operating procedure of the police. What exactly are the conditions to which an officer of the police discharged his weapon? I was at a eatery some time ago and there was a check point close by, and an officer discharged his weapon on a vehicle that refused to stop, my children were seated in my car. We confronted the officer on why he had to discharge his weapon and they ganged up on us on why we had to complain, one of the officers even said are we saying his oga cannot handle a weapon effectively. Unfortunately, there are no consequences to these actions I can bet that the officer that killed that child will be let off the hook once the dust settles. The police as an institution is weak. |
fergie001:One of the things I've learnt is in Nigerian politics is the difference between an Administrator and a politician. El-Rufai is an administrator, he only became governor because of the Buhari tsunami. The sad part is that administrators are tools in the hands core politicians. Look how Tinubu use him and dumped him, he didn't even see it coming. |
God1000:The Roman empire was not conquered or destroyed it became a church. The British empire also was not conquered or destroyed it became a bank. To know the wealth of the Catholic church, you have to ask the question of where all the wealth of the Roman empire domiciled. The value of just documentation in custody of the Catholic church runs into billions. |
TruthHurts1:What kind of commissioner is this one? Send the boy to a therapist or a counsellor, let them find the underlining issue and fix it. |
Freshtruth:This kind of thinking is what gets us into trouble. A stadium in Nigeria is not an income producing asset . We have countless stadiums that are close to being grave yards. In other places like Europe and America, a healthy disposable income allows for stadiums to become income producing. In Nigeria poverty is too high to make a stadium business viable. |
Foreign policy is mainly about trade, you can't exit a block without it affecting trade. Our 3 ECOWAS brothers that exited, their people will just suffer for as a result of their weak economic knowledge. They need to foster partnership and trade fast elsewhere the people they claim to be protecting will turn against them. |

It quiet unfortunate that a senator will be playing the card of sexual molestation in this age and time. To make matters worse she has caused a former government official of same thing and it was proven that she lied. Rules are rules, if the rules stipulates a thing it has to be followed to the latter irrespective of emotions, wrong is wrong. If the senate president truly sexualy harassed you, why is it when you have a grievance with him you are revealing it? The committee on ethics called her to bring forth here evidence to an investigation panel and she refused to show up. This is gross insubordination to the red chambers and it clear that our senators are not having it. |
God1000:Some people don't understand why Zenlensky has to go. In 1991 the Russians and the Americans came to accord to after the cold war and it was agreed that no country on the boarders of Russia will be admitted into NATO, this was agreed to avoid a similar situation like the Cuba missile crisis. The Americans have continually tried to break this accord since president Clinton. The world has suffered hyper inflation as a result of this war, food prices are high, the only logical thing to do is to de-escalate this war and allow both countries to rebuild. |
donmik:You can't learn AI in isolation, AI is like the seasoning and spices we put in our soup, these spices are not the soup but they sure make it pleasurable to eat. Find out the effects of AI on your field of expertise and become the person that can use AI to meet that change. For instance I create art pieces, through AI I have been able to replicate ancient art pieces which would have required getting a graphic designers to replicate. |
adaperry25:A lot of companies are begining to develop more efficient ways of solving their problems, there is also a rumoured financial crisis coming soon and with the entrance of AI, a lot is changing in the tech world, as a result of these changes a lot of companies are going to have to freeze employment. Data analysis of instant is something that AI can do a lot better than a human being. Research on how AI can help you do data analysis better and faster and rework your CV making it your core skill. |
Decidetolive:There is an established correlation of passport strength and economic strength. It's not that our passports is weak, our economy is weak which makes our passport weak. |
I spent my 2024 christmas holiday in Ilorin and I must confess the roads were very good, new roads had also been constructed. It was indeed a depature from how it used to be. |
First of all it is land that appreciates, the building on the land doesn't. I used to think that rent was a good investment until I personally experienced the drawbacks in the sector. If you build a house, you have to do proper maintenance every 5 years to ensure that the returns keep coming. Secondly rent and property laws are very weak in Nigeria, a tenant can pay rent for a year stay in your investment for free for 3 years, move out on the 5th year after damaging the property severely. I think we need to rethink real estate in Nigeria, a real estate investment doesn't have to be residential. We need to explore other options like mixed used real estate and agricultural real estate |
Our economy is in coma, two of the quickest ways of turning things around is increasing production and taxes, I don't understand this complain about rush. The governor of Borno insinuated that this bill should take 20 years like the PIB did on the floor of NASS. This bill will ensure that people who earn a million and below which is about 70% of our work population won't pay taxes and for some reasons it shouldn't be passed? What exactly is the colour of our problem? Our elite and lazy politicians are against the bill because it will require them to pay more and also force our governors to create production in their states. I am pro people anything that will keep money in the average citizens pocket get my nod. |
PeterObi4Presid:This sounds more like negligence and no training. Do you know why companies do 90 days training or trading school or graduate trainee programs? It's so that inexperienced people don't come mess up their business. You employed someone, gave him a few instructions and expect him to run your business like you do. Really? Oga sit down in your shop and sell your market, let the boy become your assistant first, let him gradually learn the ropes of your business and see you handle difficult situations. Should you choose to punish the boy, it will be unfair because he wasn't well trained to manage a business it took you years to master in a week. |
BeeBeeOoh:This arrangement is more or less a crude and petroleum product swap. FG still wants to control the price of the products. |
