Zeezenho:If it's natural gas deposit, the whole area should be a detonated mine field by now. I'm saying so because some years back in Kwara state, 2011 to be precise, it was claimed that crude oil had been discovered because it was gushing out of a dug pit, further investigations showed it was a ruptured pipe. |
Nemere2020:I see some folks getting fooled by these flattery words. Every politician that looses an election suddenly has all the answers to all our challenges, but when they win they can execute any of them. A politician is trained to appeal to your emotions using flattery words. The supreme court has rules, one of such rules is that you can't present new evidence for a case that has been decided by a lower court, which you seek redress for at the supreme court. Atiku was defrauded by his lawyers. |

This looks to me like a ruptured gas pipe than gas deposit. It should be properly investigated before we make conclusions. |
Estello:Clark (San) iterated this thing long before all the election petitions, the assumptions by our law is that inec will always do the right thing, until that assumption is changed, no elected president will be removed by a court. |

I think David has an over blotted sense of importance. I don't even consider him an investigative journalist, he is more of a researcher. All his purported investigations have holes in them, investigative journalists score home runs not public divisions. The public already have their biase, any article that swings to a biase will definitely gain traction. If the Nigerian government wants David, only a phone between both presidents of the countries who happen to be friends will produce him. Of course the western nations he applied to saw through him, a menace in ones home country will definitely be a menace in his asylum country. |
chokekachy:Mr Lawal and Dogara, frantically fought for the vice president ticket to be handed to them because they were northern Christians, but smart Tinubu understood that they had zero electoral value in the north. The man is very funny, in his native Adamawa, how many people voted for Peter Obi? Or better still in his polling unit? Supposed public personalities need to stop making comments that can't be substantiated with evidence. |
Islie:These ones are playing with hyper inflation, 200k minimum wage for a country that produces nothing is outright ridiculous. |
I think the biggest tragedy here is people trying to steal the position of the president of Nigeria from the winner of the election, not based on electoral facts but on technicalities. |
krib45:Economy is simply buying and selling, if you keep on buying without selling you are going to run out of money, if you keep selling without buying you are going to have a lot of cash in your reserve. The dollar will keep going up as long as we keep buying and not selling, to be honest it's not entirely the fault of any government, the citizens also ought to produce things they can sell. Minimum wage also is a factor of productivity, if you increase it without increasing production, it ends up as inflation. Nigerians can't eat their cake and have it, we can't want low cost of living, subsidy, low Forex rate , low taxes without poverty, no productivity, insecurity etc. They go hand in hand |
Israel07:Your disposition and point of view is one of the big problems we have in Nigeria. If you have a case state your case with facts and stop the names calling. Politics and law is not an emotional game, stop being emotional about them , put your emotion in check and stop using it to pass judgement. Make rational arguements, you can be wrong or right so can I, an intellectual discuss is what determines what side we are on. Every election cycle credentials have to be submitted, it's within the prerogative of a candidate to withdraw or add new documents. The documents Atiku used in running during the 2019 elections had to be resubmitted for the 2023 elections. Now Atiku has got a court order to get copies of Tinubu's certificate, that court order makes the certificate a legal tender, which Tinubu or whoever else can decide to use at will. So if Tinubu doesn't want to request his certificate from his school he can use the one obtained by Atiku should he choose. Lastly, I foresee the supreme court judgement going in favour of Tinubu, why? Because all the actions filed are technicalities. Should the certificate Tinubu submitted is forged, and he decides to submit a copy of the one obtained by Atiku, he can be sued for forgery but can't be prosecuted because of presidential immunity should he win the 2027 elections. |
Toks2008:Stop him? How? Before every election candidates have to submit their credentials afresh, Tinubu will simply submit the copies that Atiku got from the US court. |
rinzaugustine:Get it into your system, he won. If indeed you wanted a change we should have ensured PO didn't leave the PDP. Even the voter intimidation we all cried about in Lagos didn't affect up to 20% of its total polling unit. Atiku can't complain about the voting choice in the north, it was a testament of the people's wish. When did celebration become an optic of an election? The only times there was was celebration after an election was when Goodluck Jonathan won, does that make all other presidents illegitimate? |
Sharmeenator:There is work that leads to productivity and work that is done to pass time. A lot of the latter was what was being done then. You have to create work to justify the salaries collected, but the KPI should be finished product, to be fair on the workers they are willing to work but our politics won't allow the place function. I don't know of how the place is ATM but as at when I was there, they had 2 main compressors one had been cannibalised the other on live support, there was only one man who was a retiree that they brought back and made a contract staff that could manipulate compressor 2. They had 2 power plants, a gas turbine 40MW and steam turbine 125MW I think. The steam turbine had been cannibalised all its impellers on the floor. There was some refining but it was skeletal in nature. |
HisSexcellency:I did my industrial training at warri refinery in 2008 and based on what I saw, I couldn't agree anymore with president Obasanjo. Apart from the four reasons shell gave, many of the equipments are comatose, the aviation fuel plant is a scrap yard, even if they manage to buy new equipments to replace the dead ones, they have to retrain all the staffs because the generation that got the refinery working are all retired, the people employed in the last 15 years don't know what it's like to have a working refinery. When we put all the cost of equipment, training and others together, it makes no sense for anyone or group to speculate that working refineries would bring down the price of petrol to #200/litre, only subsidies can make that possible. |
ryloy:America and her allies are fast loosing their influence in africa. Nigeria has been politically neutral to the west and east. Joe is looking for allies in Africa, I won't be surprised if we start hearing of new loan instruments being extended to Nigeria. Nigeria doesn't have foreign policy, if you can help us you are our friend if you can't help us you are our acquaintance. |
Newton2024:Like seriously! N-power was a program under a previous administration and it's expired when they left office. |
nlfpmod:There are a lot of assumptions that were made which turned out to be false. Firstly, you come into the Nigerian market thinking you have a 200 million people market when in actual sense you are a 20 million market. Secondly, e-commerce is not a an order business, its a reorder business so of the actual sense they had less than 5 million potential customers who will reorder products from them on a regular. Thirdly, there was the problem of not selling things for the price they are worth, just to entice customers, that alone is a finance hemorrhage. Fourthly, management issues, the former owners owned the property their head office in Dubai was and charged exorbitant rent to the company. The cost of renting their warehouses in 5 years could build ultramodern warehouses for them. Of course Nigerians are not blind, they too want to take advantage of the system, they cut deals with landlords inflating prices of facilities to as high as 400%. As usual they are used as scapegoats. Fifthly, the logistics nightmare of moving goods in Nigeria is a big barrier to profitability of the company. |
TheSuperX:But it is the same way they said no sane company or professional will move from London or New York to the middle east, look at Dubai today. Once the conditions are perfect, change is inevitable. |
mayor1814:Give it time, younger players will follow suit, these guys are trying to control football and what it takes to control football is money which the Arabs have plenty of. Whatever these Arabs set their mind to control is as good as done, their buying top clubs did not workout really well for them so they recalibrated and decided to build home grown. In the next world cup we will be seeing the effects of the money spent. |
Ehinjuola:Lol, you don't like the word extortion, your family asked a man to bring what he does not have, what else will you call that? You knew quiet well that your husband couldn't afford the wedding your family was requesting and you didn't say anything or find alternatives, now he has to repay the loans he had to take to marry you and you expect him to be cheerful. Instead of you to be rubbing his head and assuring him it will all be ok, you are there forming madam cherish. |
Kuginzi:Nigeria refining its own oil doesn't mean cheaper petroleum products. NNPC is now a public company tasked with the responsibility of making profit. |
DamianDd:Next time it happens, have a broad smile on your face and tell her "Thank you madam, but pls mind your business" then walk away. |
xammax:The word is Discipline, which is the act of getting things done irrespective of how we feel. That should be your coping mechanism. |
This your question is a little difficult to answer appropriately. There are pros and cons on either side, don't fall for the illusion that the grass is greener on the other side. I have people who are qualified professionals who have made it abroad, I also know people who are equally qualified professionals who are still trying to find their feet. I will suggest to look at things from the perspective of longterm vision. Unfortunately, many people that JAPA made their decision on the basics of short term vision, once you get caught up in the rat race, it's all over. My advice for you is that In principle, determine your vision and in practice setup goals to achieve them. |
Oyindamolah:Be very careful, I would suggest you ask your superior questions, I didn't say you should tell them of your discovery, ask them questions surrounding your discovery. These sort of frauds are usually management deep, don't get caught on the wrong side of corporation politics. |
ibrutex:Point A is an immature perspective on marriage, marriage should be run as the institution it is. A strong instruction has a budget, strong institutions don't spend haphazardly or indiscriminately, there is always a plan. The cash available is the cash budgeted, it's ok for individual spouses to have personal allowance. |

Asquare84:god's no strike politicians Wen dey oppress the people na people Wen don already sleep with themselves hin go strike. Abeg! |
dre11:Employers will change the thing to date of graduation. |
dukechilezie:With this new wave of AI, almost everyone irrespective of age have to unlearn and relearn. At 35 I would advise you go on the journey of discovering your gift than learning a skill. Gifts are constants, skills are dynamic. |
nlfpmod:You can't chase away foreign companies because you have certain prejudices about them. If you go after a foreign company from a particular extraction, you give the perception to other foreign company's that their time is coming, this ultimately will reduce the size of their investment thereby reducing opportunities. The best way of getting rid of a company is creating better product and services at competitive prices. It's unfortunate that our people still don't understand what a minimum wage regime should look like. Minimum wage is the least any citizen of working age should earn for their work. Increasing minimum wage to 75k is going to be insane, our economy isn't that strong. Government in general doesn't employ up to 20% of our viable work force, the large companies and banks don't employ up to 20% of our viable work force, more than 60% of our workforce work in SMEs or mSMEs, the question is have they been able to pay the 30k minimum wage? PAN, Coscharis, Nord, and a lot of other guys are producing or have the capacity to produce cars in Nigeria, why do we have to single out innoson and back him up? This very act perpetrated by the PDP destroyed so many businesses thereby leaving us at the mercy of monopolist. Open the market to everyone let them compete, the best product or services wins, we need to stop manipulating markets. We need to learn from history, not long ago we had issues with cattle rearers and land grabbing, we can't hand over land to people because they have a potential for agriculture. Instead, create a state government agriculture reserve, at the reserve we can have mechanised equipments farmers can rent, portions of land are leased to farmers for an agricultural season spanning say 18 months. After the season you have to renew the lease. We can have police stations and min army base around the reserve, even seed and fertilizer sharing would be the responsibility of the reserve management. |
Englishisamust:There are 3 things that consume ones earnings in Lagos. The first is transportation, next is accomodation, the last is consumption & entertainment. If possible live in close proximity to your job, if spend less than 10% of your earnings on transportation, you are way ahead of the curve. For accommodation you can cut cost by getting shared living space, that way utilities and other associated accomodation cost is shared. Lastly, you will have to cook your own meals, especially the meals you eat during work periods, things like clubbing, chilling at a bar or hanging out with friends have to be severely moderated. |
