Nairaland General › Re: This Infographic Lists 128 Words You Can Use Instead Of “very” by galadima77(m): 6:06am On Jun 30, 2016 |
khalhokage: Our English teachers told us to avoid the word “very” because it’s weak and vague. They were right, and many times, we use “very” as a modifier for a word that could easily be replaced with a stronger, more accurate word. This infographic tells you what to use instead.
Using big words doesn’t always make you sound smarter. However, words exist for a reason, and they can be powerful. Using the right words is less about sounding smart and more about being descriptive. Chances are, if you use the word “very” to describe something, there’s a better word out there. For example, instead of saying you’re “very happy,” you might say you’re ecstatic. In the below infographic, ProofreadingServices.com lists 127 other examples.

Take d pain to find out major parts dealers... My mechanic has never given me the true price of items as i later discovered. They usually make more than what u eventually pay them for labor from parts purchase alone. This doesn't imply all mechanics are same but trust ur guts when u start getting that feeling.
Now i even go to them with parts in hand or offer to buy the parts myself |

SuperS1Panther: You had the opportunity to choose a school with Islamic background, but you chose the one with Xtian background by yourself.
Whatever you are asked to recite there is in accordance with the background and history of such a school.
You voluntarily submitted to the rules and regulations of the school. If not, you would have transferred yourself to Islahudeen, Sarafadeen or Muslim Sec School. Let me take u up on d first paragraph. I attended army children sch apapa Lagos 84 to 90. Every morning we recited "our father who art in heaven..." to the end. Is that a sch wit Christian background too? |

From Lagos - Ibadan expressway to Kano - potiskum to Jebba - mokwa-ilorin.
Watch him replicate the development experienced in Lagos all over Nigeria, from housing to roads and finally power. If detractors go on blowing pipelines just to discredit him, surely they can't blow up contractors that have been paid for road and housing constructions.
Since January, Wailers have enjoyed the internet as they proliferated it with hate comments and jest of this administration all because of an election loss. Now it's time for patriotic Nigerians to celebrate a sincere government.
What an horrible period to be a wailer. PDP was too busy embezzling n looting |
