What Satan's agents don't realize is that Jehovah, Jesus and JWs are ONE! John 17:22

In the first century Satan tried to used his evil agents to intimidate Our brothers but despite all the persecution and killings Jehovah's name was sanctified so that the Christian Greek Scriptures (New Testament) has come to stay!

Despite all the hatred Satan is building in the heart of his agents around the world today, JWs are moving ahead with the work Jesus gave us to do.

Despite the pandemic see people from all over the earth getting baptized in the ongoing convention globally! smiley

Mr Gambit23, your opinion is yours and yours alone so don’t project it to me.

What you’re unaware is that the Nazis tried doing the same thing during World War 2. Hitler vowed to exterminate Jehovah’s Witnesses yet decades later, Jehovah’s Witnesses held their international convention in the same stadium where Hitler made that declaration. Where is Hitler today? Where are Jehovah’s Witnesses today?
The latter kept on flourishing and today they number more than 164,000 in the same land where the worthless and useless Hitler declared their extermination. Meanwhile, Hitler is no where to be found, in fact his legacy is reprehensible!

So it’s too bad there are no Gamaliel’s in the Russian government to tell those instigating the persecution of JWs to give it time to see whether the organization is from God or men. Acts 5:34-39
Maybe they have not learnt their lesson from their former ally, but in due time trust me they will.

Arrewa:
The only people that have the moral right to bash islam are Atheist!!!

Christianity is even worse than Islamic when it comes to hypocrisy.

The Christian Fundamentalists state God is
good, but the evil Bible teaches otherwise!

1. God drowns the whole earth.
In Genesis 7:21–23, God drowns the entire population of the earth: men, women,
children, and fetuses. Only a single family survives. In Matthew 24:37–42, the evil
Jesus approves of this genocide and plans to repeat it when he returns.

2. God kills half a million people.
In 2 Chronicles 13:15–18, God helps the men of Judah kill 500,000 of their fellow
Israelites.

3. God slaughters all Egyptian firstborn.
In Exodus 12:29, God kills all Egyptian firstborn children and cattle because their
king was stubborn.
PAGE 1

4. God kills 14,000 people for complaining that God keeps killing them.
In Numbers 16:41–49, the Israelites complain that God is killing too many of them.
So, God sends a plague that kills 14,000 more of them.

5. Genocide after genocide after genocide.
In Joshua 6:20–21, God helps the Israelites destroy Jericho, killing “men and
women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.”

Is Jesus a hypocrite??

Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment:

"He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death." (See Ex 21:15, Lev 20:9, Dt 21:18-21) So, does Jesus think that children who curse their parents should be killed? It sure sounds like it. 15:4-7

Kill Nonbelievers

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

You'll still see same hypocrites who believes in this evil book bashing Islam.

Hypocrisy and stupidity are two of the things keeping Religion alive.
Christianity and Islam and one and the same thing. Mohammed copies the koran from the bible

So I'll go through so posts and you will see people who should be building peacful coexistence saying that if the SS (when it becomes a Nation) denies SE (also of the latter)route to sea because it cuts through it's territory on both sides, that they (SE) will take it by force.
It's silly when instead of trying to help Each other leave this mess people tend to nag mouths and empty threats to anyone they meet... If this thing is to make sense we need to start building relations.

Facts are facts our internal waters are ours as far as the flow in between us... Allowing anyone pass is subject to the flag country, while the ships country obeys it's home countries orders ,it's subject to flag countries laws and cromes comiiteco enroute is punishable by the flag country... Meaning if you have gay sailors and we don't allow that in our country, we have the right to stop and arrest the sailors .. it's the rules guys .
So if you are planning to be recognized but the UN which holds isreal(shalom!) In high esteem, then you should be ready to go by the rules.
This ain't about mouth threats and what you will be when what you have not seen comes. It's about being peacful neighbors and probably Visa free ones .

I'm just noticing Ijaw sounds like I Jew and izon sounds like Izrael lol

Any topic that has to do with Name or politics or something that indicates maybe Yorubas on Nairaland there are always comments from nairalanders who are Igbo making some funny remarks.

I assumed it was friendly banter between Igbos and yorubas.

But now the way they are attacking ijaws and we are not responding, I know we don't have that kind of friendly banter or atleast I don't recall anytime we agreed to have such exchanges.
I also don't understand why they do this, I will say a few, a few Igbos on Nairaland want to appropriate, annex Ijaw states, Ijaw people etc to Igbo.

Look many of you are not good students of history or you were taught wrong things so I will just point you in the right direction, I won't tell you what to think.

But I want to assure you with all honesty and sincerity, ijaw people (I am an ijaw man both from my father and my mother and I am from one of the royal families in ijaw land)
So I know what I am saying, Ijaw people do not hate Igbos, we do not hate yorubas, we do not hate anyone, and we try as much as possible from what I perceive and what I can tell, we try our best to avoid conflict, remember when others where saying if their tribe doesn't get this or that doesn't happen baboon blood will spill, our person said my election is not worth anybody's life. That is just one example.

However the calmness of the crocodile is not weakness, why do I say all these?

People do not seem to know that by number of states and by population the ijaw tribe is amongst the top 3 and top 4 tribe respectively

Because we don't make noise or hurl insults online to stir ethnic or tribe conflicts doesn't mean we are not in Nigeria or we can't do it. We just refuse to do it.

I do not think it is wise or fair for some Igbo people on Nairaland to keep claiming ijaws are these and that, we see all the insults targeted at us especially and even almost exclusively from the Igbos, I've never met an Hausa or Fulani man both online or offline who was insulting of ijaws. Many ijaws have lived peacefully with yorubas for so long you can't even tell the difference now,
In ajegunle and environs in the 60's and 70's there were large ijaw settlements or enclaves or however you want to call them, there are also large numbers of ijaws in some Yoruba states even some ijaws in ijaw states bear Yoruba names, many can speak Yoruba my mom speaks Yoruba and she's from Bayelsa, her half brothers are named taiye, kehinde etc Yoruba names.

But the yorubas have never one day come online to claim ijaw people are Yoruba, some ijaw or many ijaws largely agree through oral history that ijaws came from Bini but even the Bini people have NEVER one day said we are lesser than them or their subjects or any of that or we must fight their battle or must support them.

But online no week passes without some form of name calling, tribalism etc being flung at us from the Igbos and Most times it goes unreplied read the topics here on Nairaland that has to do with anything concerning ijaws. It is not as If we are not on Nairaland, it is not as if we don't see them or read them. We just chose not to reply.

But it has graduated to the level of propaganda and this is why I needed to post this, because in the future some of them will claim "if the ijaws were not or are not Igbos why did they kept quiet" their children may say " if your parents weren't Igbos why didn't they reply when my parents claimed they were Igbos" so this is the post saying WE THE IJAWS ARE NOT IGBOS.

what do I mean? Some Igbos online are now claiming all ijaws or most ijaws are Igbos, firstly, na by force?

Secondly in what way are we Igbos? We don't speak same language most of us do not share a common ancestor or history, during the Biafra war you renamed some places to Igbo names and claimed they had always been like that as if we don't have history, I want you to read Mary Henrietta Kingsley's book on West African History read the part on Nigeria and the Kalabari people or new Calabar people as they were called then, see if you can find ONE, just ONE Igbo name, also we have been bearing Portuguese names and naming our places Portuguese and English names since 1700's does that mean we are Portuguese or English? till today Port Harcourt is named after Harcourt, Bishop Bara heart, Braithwaith memorial, Forcados, even the ijaws you know off from wayyyy back their names where Isaac, George, Melford, Graham, West and so on.

Thirdly you forget we where once clumped under eastern region and we agitated to leave for certain reasons, go and read history about the creation of old rivers state and maybe you'll understand, Northerners didn't create rivers state for no reason or because they wanted to, We Rivers people, ijaw people wanted our own state, because according to those who were alive then and who moved for it, Eastern Region which the Igbos were a part of became Igbo, I don't think you understand that, everything good that came to eastern region was centered in Owerri, Enugu or any other exclusively Igbo town, rails, govmt buildings, anything, port Harcourt was in existence but nothing came that way all other old cities of other tribes were in existence but attention was not given to them, and there was serious nepotism.

This led to people like Melford okilo and co. Pressuring Gowon for a state,

Even when it comes to cessation from Nigeria don't forget Niger Delta Republic was declared on February 23, 1966 and they fought with federal forces before being defeated. Isaac Boro and his comrades were jailed for treason by Ojukwu and co. Ojukwu fought for Nigeria against the NDR only to turn back barely 3 years later and try to force us into Biafra, without even a sorry oh, you guys were right then. He just woke up and added us to battle and think we will fight for him just like that, Let us fight under Biafra and gain independence under Biafra Lol. A Biafra whose identity is so igbolised, igboitic. From there god to currency to flag to everything that is not a country in which an ijaw man will thrive, it will be frying pan to fire.

I as a person I am not against Biafra if you want it Goodluck to you left for me I would allow the refrendum, what I disagree with is your manner of trying to forcefully coerce others into your Biafra, you want freedom from Nigeria but you don't want to respect freedom of Niger Delta from Igbos?

Port Harcourt is the most free, most open, most accepting city in all of Nigeria. Yes! I've been to all big cities they usually speak Igbo(Enugu, Owerri), Yoruba (Lagos) or Hausa (Kano, Abuja) but in Port Harcourt English is the default, it is the language you are expectes or assumed to speak.

In Owerri and Enugu people expected me to speak Igbo, when I went to buy something the seller spoke Igbo to me, in Kano the bus drivers many spoke ONLY Hausa not even pidgin English, in Lagos along the conversation you'll just hear the speaker burst into rants in Yoruba and leave you lost in translation.

There are alot of Igbo people especially from imo in port Harcourt, but there are also many Akwa ibom people, many yorubas and people from everywhere else, we have our own problems like everyone else, we don't deny it. But insulting us trying to get us agitated will not help you in any way at all.

You want us to hate the hausa's but it is you dragging our land, it is you selling things to us 2 times the price because we are not Nwokem

You only want us not because you love us or you want the best for us or because we are brothers or anything like that but merely because you want numbers when you want to fight Hausa people or Yoruba people.

You claim we migrated from Ghana, Sierra Leone etc, lol we haven't denied it and we are not saying it's impossible but didn't you also migrate from somewhere to wherever you are today? Dont you claim to come from Israel? So if that's true it means even the land under your feet should be taken from you.

Also you are not doing yourself any good by fighting everybody, insulting everybody, everybody knows nothing only you knows everything, only you is smart everyone else is dumb. You are fighting yourself into a corner a corner that will keep reducing as you fight away everyone who can possibly help you.

I will continue to advocate that ijaws do not fall for the trap of becoming hateful people, we should keep following peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see God.
We should remain accommodating that's why people say Ijaw people don't travel, travel to where when PH, Yenagoa, and other Niger Delta states are the most accommodating? No religious, ethnic, language intolerance, no cheating you because you are not my brother or you can't speak my language.

Finally if you are interested in knowing where most ijaw people stand on breaking the country called Nigeria.
It's one of three things
1. No, don't break it.
2. Southern Nigeria (which will include Yoruba and Igbo regions)
3. Niger Delta Republic.

No Biafra that's not even an option except for a few hungry irrelevant people or just social media noise by one or two people with multiple accounts.

Why those 3 options? Because Nigerian politicians are the same, just greedy people interested in Thier pocket breaking Away from Nigeria will not stop the likes of Wike, godswill akpabio etc from doing their evil deeds and ruling badly. If an ijaw man becomes president or not it will not affect me personally. If an Igbo Ann becomes president it will not affect you personally, the north have been president for so long yet the ordinary northerners have very little or nothing to show for it.

We are not Igbos we are a distinct separate entity with different language, culture, dressing, history, delicacies, oral traditions, value system etc

We left the eastern region for a reason and wouldn't want to go back to that arrangement ever again we either remain alone or if we have to stay with the Igbos then Yoruba people, Tiv people INFACT all the middle belt and south west will be in that union. To counter balance each other, minimise bigotry, tribalism and so on.

That we are not exactly the same doesn't mean we cannot work together for the betterment of human life.

Thank you
Stay in love

PoliticsRe: PIB: Ijaw Nation Development Group/ipa Rejects NASS' Bill by Gambit23: 6:23pm On Jul 26, 2021
TonyeBarcanista:
IJAW NATION DEVELOPMENT GROUP, INDG, AKA IJAW PEOPLES ASSEMBLY (IPA) REJECTS THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY BILL (PIB), 2021 AS PASSED BY THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

We, at Ijaw Nation Development Group aka Ijaw Peoples Assembly have perused the Petroleum Industry Bill as passed last week by the National Assembly. We must without hesitation say, that Ijaws are key stakeholders in the Petroleum Industry as we are most impacted by the activities of the industry than any other ethnic nationality in Nigeria and as such, we deserve fair treatment in the politics, economics, administration and governance of the oil and associated gas industry. INDG has therefore continued to play vital roles in collaboration with critical stakeholders to maintain peace and tranquility in the marshy terrains and the hinterlands of Ijaw territories as well as the larger Niger Delta region that have guaranteed favourable local and foreign investment environment. We shall continue to ensure peace in Ijaw territories but strictly under guarantee of environmental, human, social and economic justice.

There is no gainsaying the deleterious impact of well over five decades of oil and gas exploration on the Niger Delta ecology of which Ijaw territorial waters, inland waters and land have borne the greatest brunt. The initiative for Petroleum sector reforms dates back to the year 2000 under the administration of former president Obasanjo who inaugurated the Oil and gas reform implementation committee. The first executive bill was sent to the sixth National Assembly by the late President Umar Yar’dua in 2008. The bill then, suffered set back due to discord over 10% dedicated funds to host communities among other issues. In 2012 a redraft of the bill was sent to the seventh National Assembly and was only passed by the green chambers. The bill again didn’t see the light of the day due to controversies over same sharing formula. During the eighth Assembly under the Senate Presidency of Bukola Saraki which was during General Buhari’s first tenure, the bill was hailed to have been passed by both Chambers of the National Assembly as the Petroleum industry governance bill (PIGB) but was denied by General Buhari who declined assent to the bill without proffering reasons for rejecting the bill. The protracted rigmarole of legislation on the petroleum industry bill culminated only last week, in an objectionable legislative brigandage against host communities where a paltry 3% of operation expenditure was dedicated to the development of host communities

The bill also provided for 30% of oil profit and gas profit for Oil prospecting in frontier basins and state. These basins are predominantly in the northern parts of Nigeria and Northern Nigeria has been exhaustively explored in the past with funds from the oil in Ijaw territory and Niger Delta. Oil has not been found in those locations in commercial quantities. The areas that fall under the said explorable frontiers remain vague and unspecified in the bill.

Dedicating 30% profit to exploration activities in frontier basins that have been strategically avoided by world- class oil giants in an era where current trends in global advocacy and global actions are geared towards clean energy or renewable energy, calls for huge concerns. Little do many wonder that the 30% profit may as well be a legislative stratagem for advancing northern Nigeria agenda to the detriment of southern Nigeria. In fact, how did legislators detract from private sector investment in oil and gas exploration in the frontier basins, should we opt to continue to kick against brick wall in the oil prospecting business? Besides, same national oil company, NNPC- in same or veneered garb as provided in the bill- that has been immersed and enmeshed in humongous corruption allegations and fiscal controversies, is the same agency to administer the 30% profit share. What a travesty! Meanwhile, reports on tabloids revealed that President Buhari’s rejection of the bill as passed by the eighth Assembly has correlations with the 10% share retained by the NNPC- which to him was huge and unacceptable as alleged.

In a related development, the Solid Minerals Act (2007) is clearly at variance with the PIB as passed by the National Assembly as the latter bill lacks coterminous protective provisions for Host communities. Also, the elasticity of definition of Host communities in the latter bill is puerile. Shouldn’t mineral resources laws- solid, liquid and gas resources laws- attract same benefitting terms to the people on whose land exploration and exploitation activities occur?

INDG/ Ijaw Peoples Assembly in very strong terms rejects several aspects of the PIB as has been passed. The PIB is less than acceptable and for several reasons too.

We therefore state the following:

Contribution to Host communities development Trust fund should be upped to a minimum of 10% equity participation rather than paltry 3% operations expenditure as passed by the National Assembly. It is worth noting that some companies already dedicate 10% for development of host communities.
It is agonizing to note the surreptitious insertion of an insensitive and inciting clause that confers on several northern states, the title and benefits of “Oil- producing” States just because oil or gas pipelines pass through them to supply petroleum products to the arid, barren and unproductive northern states. The current National Assembly at the instance of Southern Senators and Southern House of Reps members redefining “oil producing” States to include any State through which oil pipelines pass is the craziest of all jokes in the PIB and amounts to legislative frenzy.

The 30% profit sharing be completely expunged from the bill as this provision is a ploy to further emasculate the oil- rich yet diversely and adversely impacted Niger Delta. Oil exploration in the frontier basins be done away with pronto or such venturesome activities be left within the remit of IOCs at best. There should be policy thrust in a direction where there should be a sense of scientific problem -solving in a changing world demography in the face of climate change and climate actions with focus on Ijaw territory.
Impact assessment, remediation and mitigation/adaptation of Ijaw environment in tandem with global best practices should be seen to be the priority of the federal government of Nigeria rather than lip service that is being offered over decades.

We vehemently implore Mr president, General Mohammadu Buhari NOT to assent to the bill in its current form as passed. The bill is due for harmonization by a joint session of both chambers. Amendments should be made to reflect the initial 10% mark for Host Communities development.

It is our collective resolve that, should the bill become an act of Parliament in its current form, Ijaws can no longer guarantee sustained peace and tranquility in the Niger Delta. The North should desist from using its assailable strength of political numeration -handed down by the treacherous British Colonial machinery- to mete out injustice to Ijaw nation, the Niger Delta and southern Nigeria at large.

We do know that Mr president is given to looking the other way even on issues that threaten our very existence as a nation. However, we do earnestly request him to direct the legislature to amend relevant sections of the bill in question, before it is passed into law as it can no longer be business as usual. Untoward consequences are inevitable in the current design of the bill.
We also make a clarion call to action that will see to the end of two sets of laws governing Mineral resources in Nigeria.
God bless Ijaw nation.
