Nifemy4: It's no news that our leaders are chronically bereft and barren of ideas. Majorly, on how to actually make the people feel the impact of governance. One thing is never lacking in thier repertoire of 8 non fruitless cyclic years.---- roads and bridges.
This same malaise of idea deficit has metastacized accross the whole country and is currently holding the country by the balls, ensuring that roads and bridges are what their governors give back to them every 8 years for voting for them. That's even for excellent and performaning governors. Other state are not even aware if thier governors are alive or not.
Depsite the humongous FAAC allocation, the citezens of rivers are unceremonously being caught in the cross fire between the lackluster the incumbent gov. Fubara and wike.
It's now a competition of who built the highest numbers of roads and bridges. Fubara has been featuring daily on Arise tv for the past two weeks. Commissioning roads and gathering live bands to sing his song fo praise. Also with kinsmen standing before him to swear that he's the best man afyer Jesus Christ. Some may even compare him to our lord and personal savior. Psycophancy is what events like this thrives on... All in the name of road construction.
It's depressing that in 2024, a whole sitting governor will be dancing round the community to commission just a road and a plethora of bridges. The peoole won't eat roads and bridges I reteriate.
We all aware you lack ideas, but what has your administration done about human capital development, human development index, quality of life indices, job creation, internal security. Do you even know that cultism still thrives in rivers like a tree planted by the river side.? The world is talking about Ai, my country still set up a committee to supervise the committee that will oversea the road inauguration ceremony, where hundreds of millions will be wasted for logistics and honorarium, to say the least.
Fubara! One more time, the people won't eat roads and bridges..

why cant you mind your business, which state are you from I believe Ondo state,.
🇷🇺 Russia's state oil firm Rosneft has agreed to supply nearly 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude to Indian private refiner Reliance in the biggest ever energy deal between the two countries, three sources familiar with the deal said.
The 10-year agreement amounts to 0.5% of global supply and is worth roughly 1.3 trillion rubles ($13 Billion) a year at today's prices. It would further cement energy relations between India and Russia.
Rosneft did not reply to requests for comments. Reliance said it works with international suppliers, including from Russia, and deals are based on market conditions. The company declined further comment on commercial matters, citing the confidentiality of supply agreements.
India and Russia have a long-standing partnership that encompasses trade, defense, energy, and technology, with bilateral trade projected to reach $100 billion by 2030.
The deal comes ahead of the planned visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to India and after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said he wants to push Moscow and Kyiv to stop the war as soon as he takes office in January.
Russian oil accounts for more than a third of India's energy imports. India became the largest importer of Russian crude after the European Union, previously the top buyer, imposed sanctions on Russian oil imports in response to the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
India has no sanctions on Russian oil, so refiners there have cashed in on the cheaper crude supply.
The Reliance-Rosneft deal would represent another challenge for competitors, including Saudi Arabia.
Competition among oil producers for a share of the Indian market is hot because it is one of the fastest-growing energy markets, and is becoming more important as a driver of global demand as growth in top importer China slows.
Under the deal, Rosneft would deliver 20-21 Aframax-sized cargoes (80,000 to 100,000 metric tons) of various Russian crude grades and three cargoes of about 100,000 tons each of fuel oil each month, the three sources said.
The shipments will be supplied for Reliance's refining complex, the world's biggest, at Jamnagar in the western state of Gujarat.
What do they expect her to do, speak for the good of the country amidst a backdrop of deeply flawed politicians? The expectation seems misplaced, especially when the political landscape is rife with corruption and inefficiency.
Thank God the book is in the international market. He should take the case to a court in London, New York, and stop them. What is he fighting so hard for others not to see? He may have his way in Nigeria because the judicial system there is corrupt, which is precisely the reason for the book.
Edygrin: Going through your previous posts I realised you're a certified Wike hater, even wishing him harm, so there's no need replying you anymore.
When Peter Obi gave 21 SUVs to judges in Anambra, you never complained. I'm sure you'll tell me that he was doing it because the judges were tired of trekking but if it's Wike that means he's inducing them.
jattopeter: You try , will they understand your point.
It's frustrating when people become accustomed to bad governance to the point where they believe it's normal. It's important to recognize and advocate for proper practices to ensure accountability and transparency in government actions.
Edygrin: Leave the insults, should the government investigate Peter obi for building houses and quarters for judges in 2010 and 2013?
Why was he inducing the judges in his state?
Instead of resorting to insults, it's better to defend your points with reasoned arguments. If you have an issue with Obi, you should address it through appropriate legal channels.
Building courthouses and building houses for judges are not the same thing. Similarly, constructing an assembly building is different from building houses for lawmakers. Each of these has distinct purposes and should be managed within their respective budgets to maintain the independence and proper functioning of each branch of government.
ufotunang: ..ok what about Tinubu that gave GCON award to the chief justice of Nigeria..CJN.. Mrs kekere ekun ...it's that also not a way Tinubu wants to indirectly induce , influence the CJN and judges to favour him and APC in court judgement..is it not wrong for Tinubu to give the GCON award to the CJN...mrs kekere ekun
The main subject is the houses being built for judges. These awards come with the office, and it's important to understand that such provisions are typically managed within the judiciary's budget, not by external figures like Wike. It's crucial to maintain the separation of powers and avoid any actions that might be perceived as undue influence or bribery.
alcaptainero: You are still evading his question. Where un the constitution did it say that the FCT minister cannot provide basic infrastructure for the judiciary. Who built the supreme court complex, who built the two national assembly complexws, who builds the State assembly houses and complexes?
I apologize for any confusion. Let's focus on the specific issue of housing for judges.
The issue isn't about courthouses or the National Assembly, but rather about housing for judges. Do I need to explain that building houses for judges is not part of Wike's duties and that this should be investigated? This could be seen as inducing or bribing, which is inappropriate and undermines the independence of the judiciary.
Edygrin: The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says Nigerians will vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the way the New Patriotic Party, NPP, was kicked out in the just concluded Ghana elections.
Edygrin: Meaning the governors building houses and buying cars for their state judiciary members are not also doing their duty but you've never criticized them only Wike.
Just because everyone is doing the wrong thing doesn't make it right. You know this is very wrong. Tomorrow, you'll want Kemi to speak well of Nigeria, but how can she? The judiciary has its own budget for these matters.
Edygrin: Did he break any law by building those houses?
Do I really need to tell you that he should be investigated? This is clearly not part of his duties. What he's doing can be seen as inducing or bribing.
OkpaNsukkaisBae: Kemi is not happy that 60years after independence Nigerian leaders are still trooping to London, Paris seeking medical treatment. Have you seen any European leader coming to Nigeria for treatment? People don't want to associate with failures.
Don't pay attention to them. The Vice President should be ashamed of making such statements. What do you expect her to say—support you while you rig elections and steal without consequences?
Edygrin: Where in the constitution does it forbid a minister of FCT from building houses for judges?
It seems like you need everything spelled out clearly to understand. The concept of separation of powers is straightforward: each branch of government (Executive, Judiciary, and Legislative) should operate independently. Why isn't Wike building houses for House of Representatives members and Senators, but only for judges? This inconsistency shows a disregard for the principle of separation of powers, which ensures that each branch manages its own affairs and budgets independently.
The Tinubu government hasn't provided sufficient reasons to warrant reelection. This isn't about Atiku; it's about the current administration's performance. If the elections were held tomorrow and were free and fair, Tinubu should lose. However, with 2027 still three years away, there is time for him to potentially surprise us with positive changes.
Edygrin: If this same government decide to go after the previous Chief justices who refused to take care of judges under them I'm sure you will be part of those that'll say the government is trying to intimidate the judiciary.
There's nothing this government will do that there won't be criticism, reason I love how Wike is going about it, he doesn't listen to you all.
Do you even understand the issue? Supporting Wike is your choice, but his actions are wrong. If the government decides to pursue previous Chief Justices who misappropriated funds meant for judges' welfare, that's entirely justified. However, siding with Wike is your personal decision, not mine. What he is doing is fundamentally wrong.
Edygrin: Human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has condemned the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi over his visit to legal luminary, Aare Afe Babalola SAN.
Edygrin: What's wrong with Wike building houses for judges?
The president is living in a palatial palace in Aso Rock, the vice president just built himself a mansion using billions of tax payers money, the senators and HoR members are living in large houses also, why then should our judges live like peasants?
The importance of the separation of powers and budgetary independence among the three arms of government: the Executive, the Judiciary, and the Legislative. The argument is that each branch should manage its own affairs within its allocated budget to maintain autonomy and prevent undue influence or dependency.
When the Executive branch, represented by individuals like Wike, takes on responsibilities typically managed by the Judiciary, it raises concerns about overreach and undermines the independence of the Judiciary. Such actions might set a precedent that could erode the principle of checks and balances.
If the Executive builds houses for the Judiciary, consistency would require similar support for the Legislative arm, which is not the norm. This inconsistency could lead to perceptions of favoritism or misuse of executive power.
While the intention behind building houses for judges might be well-meaning, it's crucial to uphold the principles of separation of powers and budgetary independence to maintain the integrity and effective functioning of government institutions. Encouraging each branch to manage its own affairs within its budget can prevent potential overreach and ensure a balanced and fair governance system.
press9jatv: Finally Dele will left detention and becoming famous in his works. Meanwhile, Yakubu and INEC sold the Nigerian presidency to Tinubu through election fraud.~Dele Farotimi speaks
seunmsg: How Dele Farotimi defamed me, By Afe Babalola
The petition by Aare Babalola, dated November 9, 2024, to the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State explicates the gravamen of his complaints to the police and the pedestal of his action against Farotimi.
Asterisked are defamatory portions in Dele Farotimi’s foreword in his book that stirred the hornets’ nest

coins501: Now I can confirm there's a concerted effort here on Nairaland to discredit Gov. Sim. If this was a news about the Political Crisis, It would have made the front Page. Anyways congratulations to the Etche/Ọmụma people and to Rivers State in General. May Sim Fubara Succeed.
this was a road the Wike could not complete because he was in disagreement with someone from that area, such any evil person, God will disgrace him.
