Melezenawii:
I heard reliably that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is plotting the removal of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja.

The plot is to commence this week, with Government Query to be issued against the Olubadan, citing his absence at the failed coronation of High Chiefs in Ibadanland two weeks ago, and other allegations.

As for us, we will be watching the Sìgìdì of Seyi Makinde tó fẹ́ se eré ẹ̀tẹ́...

Poor write up, LP are now better organised and will run. Eventually Wike will take control of PDP and will run.

ADC clearly are in turmoil, I wonder why, and soon the interlopers will scatter away to other parties which will give them some stability.

PDP were the only national party for a long time while the opposition parties were a mess due to greed until Presidents Tinubu and Buhari saw sense. No one said PDP were running against themselves.

I hope she is not doing the masters in neuroscience in Nigeria? She should have still enrolled for medicine or even nursing after graduating from Anatomy. I had someone that finished in human physiology and later enrolled for medicine and has graduated, more than five years from now. If it is possible for her to go back to school and enroll for medicine, encourage her to do so. Thousands of people would graduate and be doing nothing, five to six years after graduating.
We presented her with the available options; however, she chose to pursue her Master’s degree abroad rather than return to resume Medicine from Year 2.

It appears she intends to continue on this path through to her PhD.
PoliticsRe: Deputy Speaker Of HoR, Benjamin Kalu To Contest Abia Guber Race by gare(f): 7:46am On Apr 10
promami:
That's not the reality.
APC presenting a united front is a big deal. And there's possibility that PDP is also working with APC towards the gubernatorial election.
The governor caused this. He allowed his aides to insult everyone who asks questions about transparency. Citizens, political leaders, CSOs, media, no one was spared. Something that govt is meant is meant to provide clarification usually turn to a barage of insults.
Ever since the idea of Ben to run for governor started, they've been running a campaign of calumny against him. Even though he has not declared to run and there are many other people who have declared their ambition.
Otti defeating 3 former governors who are united is very difficult. He even won his election because two of those former governors backed him.
Pensioners, civil servants, the grass root, health workers, judiciary, farmers, are all waiting for him. He phucked all of them.
We note the recent questions being raised regarding transparency. While we fully support transparency and accountability, it is important to point out that such concerns were not raised with the same level of scrutiny in previous years when little progress was made.

At this stage, where significant efforts are being made to drive progress, it is essential that focus remains on enabling timely execution rather than introducing delays through repeated queries. Transparency will continue to be maintained, as always.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has strongly rejected allegations by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, that he is working as an agent of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilise the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking with journalists during an inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects in the Jahi and Kuje districts of Abuja.

Describing the accusation as “embarrassing and baseless,” Wike said the claim reflects inconsistency on the part of the Bauchi governor.

According to him, such allegations are not new, noting that many individuals who previously accused him of disloyalty to the PDP have since defected to the APC.

“These accusations of me being planted are not new. Those who made them before—where are they today? They are now in APC,” Wike said.

He questioned the credibility of the claims, arguing that he has remained in the PDP despite openly supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since the 2023 elections.

“I have said clearly that I will not leave the PDP. At the same time, I will continue to support the President. That has always been my position,” he added.

Wike also accused Bala Mohammed of political inconsistency, alleging that the governor had previously sought his support to influence the emergence of the PDP National Secretary—an appeal he said he rejected.

The FCT Minister further claimed that during the 2022–2023 election period, Mohammed privately approached him in Port Harcourt to propose support for Tinubu, despite later aligning with former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

“The same person who came to meet me to support Tinubu later moved to Atiku. This is the kind of inconsistency Nigerians are watching,” Wike said.

He criticised Mohammed’s recent political stance, describing him as unstable and lacking in clear direction.

Wike also dismissed the governor’s demand for the position of PDP National Secretary for his faction, arguing that such a request was unrealistic given his current political standing.

“You cannot negotiate from a position of weakness and demand such a key position. That is not how it works,” he stated.

Despite ongoing tensions within the party, Wike maintained that the PDP remains strong, pointing to the successful conduct of its recent national convention as evidence of its resilience.

Reaffirming his loyalty, he insisted he has no intention of leaving the party, even as he continues to back the current administration.

Meanwhile, Bala Mohammed had earlier accused Wike of political persecution during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily. He alleged that the FCT Minister was behind legal actions initiated against him, including petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Mohammed also criticised President Tinubu’s administration, describing Wike as a negative influence and accusing him of working against the PDP from within.

“You cannot be in two places at the same time,” Mohammed said, questioning Wike’s dual alignment with the PDP and the APC-led federal government.

The exchange highlights deepening divisions within the PDP as key figures continue to trade accusations over loyalty and the party’s future direction.

https://voicenews.com.ng/wike-denies-apc-link-fires-back-at-bala-mohammed-over-pdp-crisis/
A lot of prominent politicians have passed through this party and contributed to its growth. When it was their time and they had disagreements, they chose to move on rather than undermine the system. Rotimi Amaechi could have destabilized the party when he fell out with the People's Democratic Party, but he didn’t. The same applies to Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tambuwal, Godswill Akpabio, Orji Uzor Kalu, and Bukola Saraki they all faced challenges but chose to leave when necessary.

In your case, instead of strengthening the party or stepping aside, your actions have weakened it significantly. What was once a strong and respected platform has now been reduced to a shadow of itself. Even the last convention felt more like a private gathering than a credible party event.

If this continues, people will gradually walk away, leaving you with a structure that no longer reflects the strength or unity it once had.

PoliticsRe: August 15: APC Will Win Without Omisore’s Support – APC Chieftain Sunday Akere by gare(f): 4:59pm On Mar 31
press9jatv:
A former Commissioner for Information in Osun State, Mr Sunday Akere, has disclosed that the All Progressives Congress would win the August 15 gubernatorial election with or without the support of the immediate National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Akere, who is the Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator for Osun, stated this while appearing on Western Television Morning Spring programme recently.

The former commissioner was reacting to a question on the passive crisis within the APC in Osun and the absence of party leaders during the wedding ceremony of the son of the former deputy governor in Abuja.

Akere during the programme, suggested that the leadership of the party were not invited by Omisore to his son’s wedding.

He said, Will you be at an event where you are invited. Was Oyetola or Ambo invited? When you don’t invite me, will I gatecrash into an event?”

The Igbajo-born politician also questioned Omisore’s stand on the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

“Assuming he was the one picked, will the others say they are not supporting him,” he said.

He said the leadership of the party is engaging the former deputy governor with the hope of resolving their differences before the election.

“The leadership of the party is talking to him and I know that before we get to the election time, definitely, he will be at the forefront.”

Expressing confidence, Akere said the APC will win Ife in the August 15 gubernatorial election even if the former deputy governor is not ready to be at the forefront, saying, “if he doesn’t, the party will win.”

When asked what assured him that the APC would win Ife without Omisore’s support, Akere pointed to the fact that the deputy governorship candidate of the party was picked from Ife.

“The deputy governorship candidate that we picked is from the same Ife. He contested for the House of Representatives seat and scored 51,000 votes.”

PoliticsRe: El-rufai Mum's Burial: Timi Frank Raises Concerns Over Absence Of Yoruba Muslims by gare(f): 4:56pm On Mar 31
JohnMo2:
Ambassador Timi Frank, a former Spokesperson of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns that the brotherhood amongst Nigerians which was the bedrock, promoting a unified Nigeria, has now completely collapsed under the President Bola Asiwaju Tinubu’s Administration as it is now more glaring everyday on the sharp divisions even amongst persons of same faith, as can be seen at the burial of the Mother of the Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai . It is rather disheartening and instructive of note that no South Western Muslim of the Yoruba ethnicity was present at the burial, but instead chose to abstain from the burial of the mother of former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.

He credited it to the bad blood governance style of President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ambassador Timi Frank said that "Even in the death, the Yorubas of the south west are clearly avoiding the North due to the fear of being persecuted by the President. It is important to note that at the burial rites, we did not see or witness any visible presence of Muslim of the Yoruba ethnicity show solidarity with the former minister and Governor, not withstanding even under a Muslim-Muslim Presidency. Aren’t we supposed to be one Nigeria irrespective of ethnicity, tribe and religion? Even Mr Peter Obi of the Christian faith was present to show solidarity, so why then are the South western Yoruba Muslims absent at the burial of El-Rufai's mother?"

"This only goes to shows you the extent to which the policies and body language of the President has started causing sharp division in the country. Before President Tinubu, we were all one as a people. We put politics aside and we condole one another across ethnicity, tribe and religion. But now, under Emilokan, the Yorubas for fear of Presidential persecution are avoiding a Northern brother and leader like Nasir El-Rufai.

"I hope the North is watching. Because this is a clear indication that should President Tinubu return for a second term, his policy of division and persecution of dissenting voices may be child's play compared to what we may witness. I fear he may not only cause more division to the unity of Nigeria, he may even decide to move the FCT to Lagos someday.

It is noteworthy to illustrate that Mallam Nasir El - Rufai gave everything and played his part in ensuring that this administration came to life, but is being vigorously persecuted by the same government he helped ascend to power, which should serve as a lesson to other northerners and leaders who are singing his praises at this time to be weary when the tables turn, “Ambassador Timi Frank concluded.
