The REC do not have power to rig election. The power to rig election lies with the Returning Officer. And the returning officers are the Vice chancellors of Universities.

Even the LGA Returning officers are lecturers from a federal University. So the power to rig election lies in the hand of lecturers and VC's.

A Governor will only chair the Primaries but the main election is how they get the Ward Delegates and the thinking of the NWC. Obaseki will likely want to do it how he did before the General Election and I believe the Orbih people will have learnt one or two.
